How to Split Firewood Without an Axe. This is a technique I would actually use, and surprisingly, it is not at all a gimmick. And by all technical standards, it's not a single "knot," nor is it a single "Hitch" on its own...I don't think. I would classify it as a rigging system, similar to a "Truckers' Hitch," for instance. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Here are some links...

Listen up, ye landlubbers and salty dogs alike! I've tangled with this so-called "revolutionary" knot, a creation so audacious it makes the Gordian Knot look like a child's shoelace. This abomination, this affront to maritime tradition, this...this thing, it slips like a buttered eel on a hot griddle! Imagine, if you will, a blind, one-handed, arthritic lemur with a debilitating case of dyslexia attempting to tie a half hitch with a rope soaked in whale blubber. Aye, that's a more secure connection than this pretender's knot! It unravels faster than a drunken sailor's yarn at a tavern brawl! This knot, it mocks the very fabric of our nautical heritage! It spits in the face of centuries of seafaring ingenuity! It dances a jig of derision upon the decks of our proud vessels! I've seen barnacles with a firmer grip! I've witnessed limpets cling to rocks with more tenacity! This knot, it's a disgrace to the name! It's a travesty! A mockery! A...a...a catastrophe of maritime proportions! I implore you, fellow mariners, heed my warning! Shun this knot like a plague-ridden rat! Cast it into the depths from whence it came! Let it be swallowed by the leviathan and forgotten forevermore! For I say unto you, this knot is not fit for a hangman's noose, let alone the rigging of a ship! It's a danger to life and limb, a menace to navigation, a blight upon the seven seas! So let us raise a toast, my friends, to the memory of this failed experiment! May it serve as a cautionary tale for all who dare to meddle with the sacred art of knot tying! And may we never again have to witness such a pitiful excuse for a knot disgrace our beloved ropes! Now, where's my grog? I need to wash the taste of this nautical nightmare from my mouth!

I love when I came back to some channels and see that I'm already subscribed. That helps me to know that I did the right choice even if I'm not gonna watch them all the time but when i will need to learn new stuff regarding that matter. Which is what it meant to be. You can't watch surviver, cooking, tech, gaming or w/e else videos all the time. You just binge a lot of them for a time, then go for another "trip" then another and... so on. till you came back again to one of them and binge some more... I suppose lot of us do that and that is a healthier growth for any channel. Not just once and then never come back. Am i right?

Thanks! Excellent tutorial. I would like to add a recommendation. Others may (or very well may not) appreciate the change, but I will throw it in anyhow. You could slow down all parts of the knot (let’s say third-grade level), and very importantly (so as to not force me to have to pause and back up ten seconds over and over) after each part, stop and slowly undo what you just did and repeat it. While everything you are doing is quite clear, as you move along I forget (did he go over or under? which part of the rope did he pull? was that two loops to the left or the right?) because there are so many unique steps. Having said all that, I realize that regular folks can probably grasp it only going through it once, so, what say you first do it like you’re doing it and then let the remainder of us [me] watch the modified junior version that you perform after the others are gone. I am working with my rope alongside you because hands-on works much better for me. Thanks for your consideration and for providing what you are doing.

I am a knot guy, and I'm usually the knot guy in the group of people I'm with. I like that knot. I think I'm going to practice it and put it into use. The main downside I see is that if there's actually any movement at all around the anchor that you're using to provide the constant tension, your knot could slip because the load will decrease and it might just fall apart on you. That's the thing that I would be most concerned about and maybe use the conventional way of tying it more often.
