Hey Y'all. My name is Lindsey and you can usually find me sewing or reading.
✨ Amateur Color Season Draping Analysis with @sew.sumalee ✨
Join Sumalee and myself as we adventure into uncharted territory AKA seasonal color theory and try to figure out our season or pallet using random clothes from our closet. Please be warned that we are extra silly people...especially together and not enough editing in the world could make us seem chill. General disclaimer to state that we are not professionals nor do we particularly believe that anyone needs to drape or learn their best color season.
Note on the white balance, coloring of the frame, and difference in lighting and devices. We used natural lighting over 4 hours and the results were wildly different from device used. This included a mirror, Canon Camera, iPhone and Android phone. We just wanted to make it clear that our observations may look different than what was recorded because of that.

I have a ticket to Holly Black's "Prisoner's Throne" Book event this week and I need a costume!!! Luckily I just finished my video describing ALL of the costumes in The Cruel Prince Book. This Y2K Slip Dress is inspired by the character Kaye Fierch who is only in the book for approx 5 seconds, she does have her own book... which just so happens to be my most favorite. #booktube #costube #thecru...

I’ve just found you 2 years later - better late than never! I’m going to give it a go.
Love to see what you make if you post anywhere 🥰🥰
Cool 😀
Cool 😀
Cool 😀🎃
Very pretty 😀
I needed this video!! I can now draw more accurate fanart.. hehe
Cool 😀
Do you think the dragon with the egg could be used like a necklace too?
Yes! All the charms can be removed and added to other pieces like a necklace.
I use It as a necklace with a golden chain and It looks beautiful.
Even though I've read all the books, it took me until today to realize that Cardan is dressed up like an Ateez member.
Lmao
Cardan is so extra, though 😂
And dramatic
We wouldn’t want it any other way.
Cool 😀
Thank you!
omg PLEASE do the next two books!! i never realized how beautiful the outfits are in the books! and the pictures helped a lot to visualize everything 🤍
I’m hoping to get part 2 out by next month. There are a lot more outfits in Book 1 it seems!!
This turned out beautifully! I need to make more rita blouse's. Thank your for tge inspiration
Very cute and comfy looking
I've made this dress so many times and the first time it was such a pain to fit until I figured out how to do my own version of a full bust adjustment. I think you need a small bust adjustment and bring the waistline up an inch to get the perfect fit but it still looks cute as heck!
I 100% agree with you and thank you for letting me know, I usually need an SBA with Gertie patterns, and definitely didn’t correct my waistline! Gonna do that before my next one.
I read tithe back in 2020 during the pandemic it no lie changed my brain chemistry I loved it so much it got me the pandemic
I love that, her entire Faerie series changed me completely 🩷🩷🩷🩷
I love the box 😮in my area there’s no box like this in pandora store.
Oh no, it seems like they only made it as Influencer PR.
They were selling the whole set together right when this collection was released (I think last summer?) there was a special box that came with it but i never saw it. This could be it? You had to buy the whole set though when it dropped.
@@afz7529was that like this one, or the one shaped like a dragons egg??!!
It looks great. Great job. I’m getting this pattern. I hope it’s easy. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless!
Hope yours goes well, I really like this pattern. I’ve made a few now.
thank you for the detailed overview
Thanks for watching 🫡
❤❤❤ Danke für Dein Video.Ich habe eine Frage.Wo kann man diese schwarze Schmuckbox kaufen?
Thank you for watching! The box was gifted to influencers, I don’t think they sold them.
Sumalee immediately gave me winter vibes I was so stressed when you said gold warms her up! That's the difficulty with yellow tones they seem like they always help. Thistle, your coloring kind of reminds me of Hannah Witton and I think she was typed as warm spring? So I could see you being correct with soft autumn to keep things more muted. I'm obsessed with color analysis would love to see what you thrift
I left in a few of our thoughts knowing that we were not correct about everything in our notes or original feelings! The silver/gold was the most difficult for me personally. After this I’ve been noticing more color season styling so this has been fun. Thank you for watching.
I would have guessed Spring for the woman on the left, and Autumn for the woman on the right.😊 But I really have no clue. 😄 I find colour theory very tricky and hard to figure out. 🤔 Thanks for the video. 😊
It is super tricky, during the draping both of us were fighting what the other was saying because of our pre-existing preferences. I’d be curious to experiment with small seasonal capsule wardrobes. Thank you for watching.
This was so fun! Sorry I am unhinged 😅
Agreed. I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Color season thrifting video next??? 🤪🤪
This came out sooo cute. And I still don't want to do anything. 🙃
You got this!!!
Sooo interesting - thanks you for sharing!!
I thought I was the only one with stickers all over my sewing machine lol.
First, love the top. Second, I have a question. At 3:08 time in your video, how did you do the interfacing? I'm having a hard time to get mine to work. Did you also cut out fabric for the interfacing for the front part of the top? If you can please let me know. And thank you 😊
It’s weird that I didn’t show that at all, but that’s natural when you try to film as you go. I cut the interfacing using the interfacing pattern piece and ironed it to the non fashion fabric side in between the fold line and the edge of the front piece, that gets folded over to create the front facing. Which part is throwing you though??
I tried to cut an extra piece of fabric to put in-between and then folded it wrong 😂 thank you so much, I understand now I now what you mean. You are a lifesaver 😊
I need that Jon Snow charm and Targaryen ring 😯
Agreed, you do!!! They are too good 😭.
Sewing from your stash, and a dress at the end. Win, win! Thanks for sharing 🤩👍🏼
It does feel good! 2024 goal is to sew through my stash since it’s not too large!

Such a good day 😭
Love it! You need far more than three comments!!
You’re too kind! 💞
The dedication is amazing 🎉
Just two more books to go 😭
I know
Okay, but that book is amazing
Honestly love pretty much all of her books
Great job 🤩👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you ☺️!
They turned out really cute!
Thank you so much ☺️
"My girl Jo-y" 😂😂😂😂😂
Honestly thankful you think I’m kinda funny. 😂
I uh will be referencing your video for *reasons* in the future. Thank you for the diligent research!
Heheh yes, my plan is working! ♥️
I LOVE THIS. as someone who's been getting into fanart having a visual to go with any possibly drawings is so useful!!! also love the recognition for fashion, it's always such an underrated characteristic in books!!
Ugh fashion is truly underrated in books, if you don’t tell me what to imagine then they are all in jeans and tshirts 😂.
I forgot to mention that the Airtable and Pinterest board are linked in the description for anyone to view. I will continue adding/improving both as time permits. Thank you for watching!
I always have to google the pieces cus OMG I know nothing about fashion
I feel like it’s even more difficult to imagine fantasy described fashions because what even year are these fashions based on to use as a reference. lol
Love this video so much!
Awe, I’m so glad 🥰. Thanks for watching.
This will be such a great tool for cosplayers to reference! I love how neatly organized this video is.
I hope so!! And thank you so much, I wish I had more time with it but I enjoyed the process.
"he's a product of his environment, we'll just say that" not me CACKLING at the breakfast table
🤣 I had so much more to say but was internally like…. “ costumes only.” focus.
@@ThistlenStitches It's really a very accurate and succinct character summary tbh
where is this omg? also love the dress so pretty!!
Love the inspiration and the dress. I was wondering though, how did you get the skirt part to poof out? Is there like a built in corset type of thing?
Thank you! I have a previous short on the undergarments if you wanted to see. Altogether the layers are; shift, stays, bum pad, petticoat, dress, robe.
Please show the finished garment
This weekend I should have it completed and will share ♥️♥️
I will gladly take a nap on your bum roll
Why do you always make this look so easy 😩. I can't wait to see the final look!
I must do it to trick us all into continuing because this stuff is hard lmao.
It turned out amazing!!
