Listening to this to prepare for the Halloween night.

I had the opposite reaction to most everyone in the comments. When I bought the album in 1979, I loved "We Live For Love". But when the single remix came out in 1980, I loved it even more (I preferred the gritty rock edge applied to the song). I had to buy the 45 to get it. I had no idea later releases of the album included the 45 remix. I don't think the song would have done as well on radio with this original version as it is too bland. Especially the section where we wait for the verses to begin. We'll never know the answer with certainty.
