Use an Two L motors instead of one XL(you mistaken for L but you use XL)L has a higher RPM and so there is no need to use gears and all of that gear friction.Two L motors you can use 24 tooth gear to 8 tooth to get same speed as with Xl.two L motors give more power.

This wasn't a fair game, on the tie the ev3 got a a point and so did the nxt but on ties points are not rewarded, it also doesn't help that the motors on the EV3 are stronger. This was a very bias Silk run

I made a fast lego rc car With 1xl motor and l motor and CONTROL plus smart hub The car weighs only 356grams. It can go over 12.6km/h with 3:1 gear radio. And 15km/h with 2s lipo.

Woah this is the fastest car I have seen using one power functions motor, even though it looks good you should make the body lighter and use more technic beams cause they are light weight

You still need three motors and 3 touch sensors...
