How is Ed Terry's 944 mustang even producing that high of rpms? Is it the 427? I want to learn everything about that engine he ran because that has to be the best sounding v8 I have ever heard. The 947 car had it too.
Man, I have serious fever for the 427. I want one bad. I was going to settle for my 3rd Coyote Stang. Whatever I end up with, it's 100% going to be another manual. The racing back then, it really put the driver out front.
Look at all the fans in the stands??? Drag racing was the number one racing event in the '60s and into the 70s. It was more popular than any other form of racing here in the United States. I could be wrong but I don't believe they draw fans like this anymore.

mine was a cj 428...i got it with a junk 427,,,now has a cobrajet 302 c4,,,an now has ps an pb that it did not have,,,came as a race pack,,,i have the build sheet
Oh God how I miss real drag racing that Symphony of cylinders at the end of the video is the most beautiful music I've heard in a long time. Have you ever heard the sound of a race GT350 Shelby I'm talking just the 289 it literally is as loud as a Nitro funny car and sounds like one. To my ears there is no engine that sounds as good as Ford's.

I can't get over how high those big block ford's are in RPM's they are taking them to. Must be 7000 RPM's easy. Those rev like small blocks.
Love both engines but like the 429 boss more because of it's higher potential and stock 400 hp

I wear an open face helmet when i take me Challenger Hellcat to dragstrip its a 6 speed manual car. Alot of fun no matter what brand person drives.
