This may be a small thing to some but I think the battery should be easier to remove. I want to be able to charge and store in climate controlled location to preserve battery life. My garage not climate controlled and battery is a major operation to remove or install for riding.

Specialised USA is a skank company. They advertise a summer sale $1000 off on a,… " Turbo Levo Comp alloy." Then cancel the order. One day after receiving payment with no valid rationale, for their actions they refused to sell the bike at the sale price.

Nice review mate 👍 I am currently on the stock tires(butcher and eliminator), I’m a bit “heavier” (about 280 pounds with gear) and I find, especially for more Xc/Gravel type of riding I’d like to be able having more air pressure in at least the rear tyre than the current maximum of 2bar for the butch/elimin tires for less rolling resistance when there’s more pedaling action going on…what is the maximum pressure on these Cannibals? Do the Cannibal have more or less rolling resistance? Do you recon I even need to compliment with Cush Core due to my weight?

Hello folks, it is I, William, out of the video. I’ve got a previous gen Epic Evo, so not worlds apart from the current gen ‘non-evo’. I have it set up with around 17% rear sag and all the tokens I can get in there. All about the firm pedalling platform (not running a lockout). While the Stumpy does run a bit more sag than an XC race bike, its composure when you drive on is very very similar. So if pedal efficiency is your only worry about the Stumpy then don’t let it worry you! It’s absolutely lovely to pedal but it really does not descend anywhere near as sketchily as an XC bike. That being said it is also a chunk heavier than an XC bike so that aspect does detract from the climbing performance. Plus you’ve got treadier tyres and mullet wheels on the Stumpy. It’s most definitely a big trail bike, so if you want something to do loads of pedalling on (let’s call it ‘mile munching’) then I’d really be looking at the Epic 8, or realistically the Epic 8 Evo because 10mm extra travel for no real weight gain is a win 👌. Was he comparing it to the Epic 8 when he said it felt like his Epic ? I’m actually trying to decide between the Epic 8 and this new Stumpy right now and that’s the one question I have. If the stumpy is that efficient then I’ll get the stumpy however if it’s like my Enduro bike then I’ll get the Epic or maybe an SB120. I’m basically looking for an efficient short to mid -travel trail bike. Curious for your thoughts ! Thanks

I have a 38 on mine and it's a huge improvement but it does change the character of the bike. I live in BC so I think the 38 is justified. That said I'll likely move up to an enduro bike like the Range ore something similar. If you don't ride steep rough terrain the 36 is is belter for blue and single track trails.

They are 2600 base. 3400 comp. 400 more get evo. 3400 for comp gets you little better suspension.

Aluminums are great. I don't get why reviewers don't clearly say that carbon fiber is only for mountains and light bumps, because I've had a carbon fiber going down the stairs and eventually had to service the plastics in the head tube. Everything was ruined in it.

The nominal power of any eeb is 'limited' to 250W... So the difference in power to weight ratio between the two bikes should be identical to difference in weight. Or are you using torque? Torque to system weight ratio would be a better indicator of the tangible assist from the motor. Whereas battery capacity to system weight ratio would give an idea of comparable range (should two eebs be used on the exact same power output over similar terrain, the big assumption there is that both motors are equally efficient)

I agree! I love my 2029 Turbo Levo Comp. Got thousands of KM on it! Upgraded to Purple Hayes brakes, wider wheels (more stability). I agree with the cabling, so I went wireless AXS drivetrain and dropper. But all in all it is fun and bomber!
