Action in Perryville Including a Metroliner Cab
Went to Perryville today to catch 121. Turns out I had just missed an NS coal train! Met some cool people there and saw a Metroliner cab which is pretty rare past Philly on the NEC.
Trains 121 and 122 run with Metroliner cab cars from extra Keystone sets Amtrak has in Sunnyside. They run once a week on Sundays.

Went to this Fedelcode-era Type 7. Pretty damn punchy for a 7. There was a weatherproof champion nearby this one, but it has been removed somewhat recently. This was the acceptance test of my new camera. My AX43 has a motherboard issue which will make it nonfunctional soon. I will continue to use it until it is no longer useable. Always nice to go back to my signature spot. Somehow, variety seems to be picking up these days, with trains having ACS-64s in a push-pull configuration, and Keystone sets being used on regionals 121 and 122. These cab cars aren't gonna be around much longer, and neither are the Acela I sets, so get em while you can.

Been a long ass time since I've gotten one of these in the full test. Mostly because it's always during school. This was a fun day. For my birthday, I ventured up to watch some NJ transit on its main line to Port Jervis (although trains were only running to Suffern that day.) It was pretty fun and I even met a nice French lady while I was there :) I'm sure she was disappointed in our transit system...
