We carry a substantial number of shop made and handmade knives and have them in stock and ready to ship. A.G. Russell Power Ball C2 with D2 Steel
The A.G. Russell Power Ball C2 is an EDC knife designed for the person who needs something easy and slim to keep in the pocket, but big enough to do work when needed. The 3-3/8” D2 drop point blade has a stonewash finish and is full flat ground for great slicing. The detent, flipper, and ball bearing pivot are finely tuned so the C2 blade will deploy quickly. The deep pocket clip is reversible for a right or left hand tip-up carry. The steel liners inside are skeletonized to reduce weight, bringing the knife to 3.7 oz. It has two color choices of a Black G-10 with a blue pivot accent ring, or Green G-10 with an orange pivot accent ring.

Being able to hear him speak on edges is a blessing ... RIP.
The reason for the edge to move quickly to the point rather than slowly is specific to a dagger. It is designed to pierce up to several layers of closing even in winter gear in the deep with the first thrush. it is a dagger not a combat knife. Your knife looks great and i am sure it is. I would enjoy having one. But the comparison is not to the strength against a bending or shattering tip but to a piercing one. A dagger is not a knife for general use and it is not used for fighting it is used for stealth and efficiency. it is not the survival of the knife that matters. In my career I carried many knives at the same time and each suited a variety of purposes. The most common thing a knife was used for was opening MREs, but I would not use a bayonet or a dagger like knife to do that. A dagger is used for one purpose and that killing by stealth. Your presentation is great the knife is impressive, but it is less suited to use as a dagger than a fighting knife.
Like it much.
My grandfather was sharpening stones before he was watching TV and he sharpened like that with great success. I did the same. It's not wrong its just different.
You didn't show the Esculta.....

Informative presentation, but the camera work actually was making me nauseous. Just use a wider perspective shot on some kind of stable surface.
What happened to Gramps. I saw him on a video 7 years ago and of course a few more after that and I don't see him anymore I like him. I hope he's all right

Oil-soaked stones can also be used with water after cleaning them out. When submerged in boiling water for a longer period (30-60min) it will slowly purge out the oil from the stone. You may have to repeat it once again after cleaning up the stone. To be clear, it is not something anybody would do on a monthly basis, at least not with a sound mind.
A good and very wise young man...
I have several of these. One is carried often in my pocket and a couple more are in the kitchen as paring knives. I just ordered another 6 of them and 1 is going to be a gift for a friend who is going to cooking school
Hello from the Deep North of Canada! I realy liked your video smooth fast and practicle! I am a neewbee sharpener and collector of diffrent knives from Surviving to Pocket knives and evetn all of ky knives have been disassamblied cause i love to see the diffrent mechanisms and styles of inside making! But i would like you, if you can, make a video about diffrent bearings, how to keep them in good shape but most witch side to put them back, depending of witch kind of bearings and how to oil them correcly! Thanks in advance for your great work and hope you will take in concideration my questions! Frank from the deep north!
Hi Franky! Thanks for leaving a comment! We're unfortunately on a long hiatus from making videos for the foreseeable future. But I can at least give some information. When it comes to disassembling knives, I recommend always noting which side each bearing came from and always keeping it on that side. I'd always avoid disassembling any knives that have loose ball bearings, getting them back together is too difficult. Of course, it's hard to know for sure until you take it apart. Ideally, you can find a CZcams disassembly video for your specific knife model to see if it has loose bearings. For oiling, I prefer the Quick Release Pen: agrussell.com/knife/Quick-Release-Pen-25-fl-oz--LAT-QROIL03 There are many similar oils, but you do want a high quality oil that's used for small mechanical items. For learning more about knife disassembly, I recommend checking out Nick Shabazz on CZcams. he does a lot of knife disassembly videos that are very informative. www.youtube.com/@NickShabazz Here are the tools he uses: czcams.com/video/fr4WLyb1a1U/video.html&ab_channel=NickShabazz I hope that helps! -Jake

I love that, "I've not had a need to impress people for a long time." Isn't that a great life lesson right there 😁
I own the smooth brown one. Works great. Carry it every day. Used it when I attended the Ukrainian Cultural Festival. Bought their sausage and cabbage dish, but they gave plastic utensils. Fortunately had my boxcar knife and had no problems.

If Eye surgeons come to you for a need of "Sharper tools"... Then you are well beyond the need of impressing people for sure! 😳
The amount of History & experience that this Gentleman has towards his specific profession is probably second to none when it comes to his wealth of knowledge in this industry... It was an honor to hear you speak Sir, and thank you for clearing that up... Now I gotta figure out if my Alum Oxide Sharpening stone, that my grandfather gave me, has been used with water or oil??...any advice on that??
That's what I'm looking for abused but no damage seen
Greetings from Germany realy nice ones
I really needed this for my food science class thank you
Very cool
Cool! I have a 1977 Sting KLC11445. Always wondered why it looked so unique, I don't know where I obtained it but amazed by how much they are worth.
Ethan Becker bring back the BK5, 20, 29. Had these knives still be available, people wouldn't flock to other bowie knife knife makers.
Hi thare is international shipping still only available if I spend $500 or more? This is a beautiful knife but verry expensive with a sheath that will have to be replaced. Phill did an excellent job 👍
$500 is still our minimum international order, unfortunately. We are, for the most part, backing out of international shipping. Thanks for watching!
There is nothing wrong with a soldered guard, but if you are going to do a soldered guard DO IT ON THE HANDLE SIDE
how many times do you pass the knife ? i saw one video with 20 times...... or does it depend upon how dull the knife is ?. lets say that my knife test looks like it cuts well, but it catches here and there... or is it safe to use a set number of passes ? thanks
It depends on how dull the knife is. If you do a pass on each side of the knife every time you use the knife, that will maintain the edge and you won't have to worry about sharpening it. If you are like me and don't keep the rods out to use every time you use the knife, you'll have to do a more thorough sharpening. If you find your knife is catching repeatedly in the same spot on a cut test, there is likely a chip in the edge. You can see the chip with bright light, though a magnifying glass helps to see it as well. I recommend switching back to diamond rods to get the chips out. For small chips, use the diamond rods and focus on that spot until you have smoothed most of it out, then go back to full strokes to line the edge back up. Sometimes the chip is relatively large. It is hard to explain the difference between a large chip and a small chip in words, but often I leave large chips in the blade because I do not want to sharpen the blade all the way down to get rid of the chip. Excessive sharpening will thin your knife over the years. Whether you should remove a large chip depends on how much the chip bothers you, how much it impedes using the knife, and how willing you are to spend the time sharpening the chip out. The bigger the chip the longer it will take to remove. Really big chips benefit from having a more aggressive diamond grit. I hope that helps! -Jake
This Man could be dead wrong but im hanging onto every word as the gospel. He's the embodiment of "wisdom of elders". I would listen to him explain anything. Lol
The Bowie knife I suppose is OK as a fighting knife (I guess, I'm not a knife fighter), but as a bushcraft knife, a Kukri is FAR superior. A Bowie knife looks FAR more stylish and classy, but if I was out in the wilds I'd take my kukri every time.

Will it match the durability of the Fairbank spider
@@brucebarnes9138 I've not held a Fairbank Spider, so I won't make any claims against it. Our knife is incredibly strong though, as the tests demonstrate.
