Politics has penetrated every aspect of life; unfortunately, this type of conversation is not objective or constructive.
The whole point of John 6 is missed when catholics assume Jesus was trying to âeaseâ the understanding for this disciples when he alluded to his ascension. Jesus specified in verse 64 that he knew his disciples did not believe from the beginning , and were never really disciples to begin with. By alluding to his ascension, he is asking a rhetorical question. âWhat if you were to see me ascend to where I came from? Would THAT change your hearts?â Just like there were ancestors in the desert who saw Godâs miraculous provision for 40 years, the miracle did not change their hearts; and those who did not believe were barred from entering Jerusalemâs gates. We see the same thing in John 6 if the disciples were to see him ascend to heaven. They sought him NOT because they witnessed the miracles, but because they only cared about its provision. So if they never believed from the beginning, what were they not believing in? Eating his flesh? Thatâs impossible because the idea had never crossed their minds yet. The disciples left because Jesus totally stripped away their leverage for following him. There is nothing they could have said in order to use him to further benefit from his miracles. He took away the Jewsâ false motive by shocking them with what appeared to be a strange idea of eating flesh. The answer was in the beginning of the discourse in verse 34. He took away the disciples false motive by proving they were never believers to begin with. A classic case of living by bread alone! The best way to get rid of false disciples and to prevent creating them, is to dismantle their motives. Witnessing a miracle alone will not get them to hear the Father. That is the entire message of John 6! It has nothing to do with the Lords supper (which was over a year later). In face, Jesus likens himself to manna, not the Passover matzoh. Totally different connotation. The Jews perceived spiritual things in a carnal sense. This is a recurring theme throughout John as we see in the other âI Amâsâ. Their temper inclined them to conceal any other sense they had of it, and to represent what our Saviour said as exceedingly absurd. They did not yet understand that by âgivingâ, Jesus was referring to himself being crucified. Their concept of a dying messiah was so foreign to their original plans to make him King by force in John 6. This is why they walked away. John 6 exposes our inability to follow Christ based on our own terms (fleshly motives). Motives that satisfy the flesh yield no everlasting benefit because Jesusâ pursuit is countercultural and focused on eternal life. We live by him, as our bodies live by our food. To âcomeâ is to eat, and âbelieveâ is to drink - Because he lives, so shall those who believe on him. Therefore, do not work for the food that perishes. Our motive for following Christ must come from hearing and learning from the Father, and those whom the Father draws are then given to Christ, and believe on him. If we seek Jesus for the wrong reasons, we will not find what we are looking for. Therefore, look to his sacrifice and believe in his saving work if you are hungry for the bread of life. The Jewsâ ancestors in the desert relied on physical manna for sustenance, and yet died. Jesus is stating he is different* in substance* and in provision*, and is everlasting bread that âenduresâ to eternal life.
Sincerely I didnât comprehend anything.
Maybe you should be clear if youâre the pope idk good thing heâs cryptic
The main media is still confused. They are not particuarly good at nuisance. A woman can be a religious. A woman cannot be a father.

Ya'll dont even know which mythological figure to idolize. That's hilarious. But whats to be expected when its all made up anyway?
Itâs easy, the Bible tells us not to do, what Catholics do in their traditions
Mary needed Christ just like the rest of us
True
Mary sinned just like the rest of us and needed a savior just like the rest of us. Anyone who says differently is lying.
We don't say differently. We don't say Mary was sinless. We say we respect Mary as the amazing and brave mother of Christ and see her as an intercessor, not a deity or anything of the sort. There's a huge difference. đ
â@funpersonakaebw1110 The Laws of Leviticus required the Hebrew High Priest to annually intercede for the Isrealites by following a ritual of atonement. In this period, the High Priest would be the only intercessor between man and God. Fast forward to the New Testament, and we see that Jesus as Christ is the new High Priest who *intercedes* for all humanity, after fulfilling the required ritual of Leviticus, only once. Hebrews 9:7,15 âJesus the Christ is the only High Priest, he is "the only way" to God.
@@funpersonakaebw1110 Back up with scripture that says Mary is to be seen as an intercessor. Iâll wait.
@@Rockjamify do you not believe that Jesus is God? I am confused, not angry or anything. I'm not sure how other sects of Christianity view the holy trinity.
@@kryptic5007 back what up? I am confused. Here's why I respect Mary: Mary gave birth to Jesus and didn't even have a hotel room. She accepted this as a mission from God, with the message being delivered by an angel, which were described to be really pretty scary and intimidating in Scripture. She accepted the mission very quickly, taking on a massive mission for the salvation of all mankind. This is all detailed in Luke 1:26-38
Because there is nothing deifying Mary in scripture or history until the 400s AD , you might as well accept Islam too if youâre going to believe every new made up teaching from that time period
straw man. interpretation is different than interpolation
Bro... thinking the bible is real is literally like thinking comic books are real lol
There is value to religion. Don't be disrespectful, man. Show kindness.
Because scripture is the ultimate authority, not man.
Then listen to scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and HOLD to the TRADITIONS which you were taught by us, either by WORD of MOUTH or by letter. Remember your leaders, who SPOKE the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:7-8 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. John 21:25
So what were the traditions that the Apostles handed on down? There wasnât a Bible yet?
Ok, what were the traditions handed down by the apostles and what is your evidence that they are not man made? Many traditions contradict scripture. Jesus himself was very critical of people that elevated traditions of man over the word of God.
@@joshuabloom3526 Sunday worship, the Holy Mass, the hypostatic union, the Trinity, etc
@@thecatholiccouple1 All of those that you mentioned are found in scripture other that the holy mass. Do you hold to the tradition that Mary is Sinless? Because the video above is referencing traditions and it is indicating traditions regarding Mary. Scripture is clear that all mankind is sinful. Again please show evidence that the ones not mentioned come from an apostle and have not been added to by man.
Mark 3:31-35
Because the Mariology and iconophiles didn't come about until several hundred years after the death of Christ and the apostilles. These are all accretions to the faith just like the rituals and traditions the Jews were holding so tightly to.
False, St. Luke painted icons and are preserved at Mt. Athos. The Trinity and nature of Christ was settled as doctrine until 325, does that make it any less true?
Wickedness!!! No wonder the pope signed on to one world religion, with all the pagan religions of the world. To top it off, Jesus is not allowed in that new world religion. And of course now you do same-sex marriage. Wow that's good. God's really happy about that one. He gave us all a choice gave us free will. However, he was kind of wanting you to have the same will as him.

Show me anywhere in the ante nicean fathers the bodily assumption of Mary
Who said they wrote it down, or that they had to write it for it to count? The Bible doesnât.
@@universeman657 then how can you prove it was practiced by the apostles
Thereâs no evidence the earliest apostles believed these things about Mary, and if they were true, and as important as Catholics say, weâd expect to see it clearly laid out in the gospels and the epistles.
There is evidence of the early church fathers being and calling themselves CATHOLIC.
Rev. 12: 1-3.
Where in the Bible does it say that everything is in the Bible?
Where is the written evidence that the earliest Christians believed in the inerrancy of the book of Hebrews?
@@universeman657 Is there something in Hebrews you think contradicts the other parts of the New Testament?
Jesus said follow me (him) not his mom or anyone else. Idol worship and paganism always will make excuses to continue to do what they do. đź
If Jesus best friend noticed marry and Jesus likes ice cream on Fridays and as such the Catholic Church has a cooler full of ice cream at the end of church does that not allow you a more accurate view of marry? Not everything is written in the Bible. We donât know if Jesus liked to chew his food in the right cheek or left or if marry slept on her side or back. But what we do have is tradition and if you believe your church is founded by the apostles then the traditions they laid down add to with normal scripture make you closer to god.
Guess you shouldnât follow your parents, then.
â@@Happyman28778Mathew 15, mark 7
Please do research before commenting like this. We do not worship Mary and have stated this time and time again. We respect her as the mother of God and go to her as an intercessor, not a deity. This is a massive misconception, so it's understandable that you thought that, but don't accuse people of idolatry willy nilly.
@@emanuelroldan3921 it seems pretty clear here in the verse that the issue is there tradition is a direct contradiction to gods word. I donât think anyone here is making the argument tradition that contradicts scripture should be upheld
Hahahahahaha. Man. Thatâs the one thing He came to abolish. Traditions. Oral laws. Commands in dogma. Heavy burdens hard to bear. Not the law. Not until the heavens and earths away and all is complete. Not all is complete. He didnât fulfill all the messianic prophecy. Itâs tradition that has destroyed Christianity. You put faith in men on Sunday who twist Paulâs words.
You do realize that the canon of Scripture, which contains the law, is essentially an oral Tradition, right?
St. Paul begs to differ 2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and HOLD to the TRADITIONS which you were taught by us, either by WORD of MOUTH or by letter.
@@universeman657 you could say that with the entire Bible. Thatâs itâs a bunch of traditional stories. But to Israel there are two laws. Thereâs the written which is the first 5 books and the oral traditions or oral law which is said to have been given to Moses at the same time.
@@thecatholiccouple1 so Paul by his own words says I donât teach anything different than the sound doctrine of Christ Jesus. Any one who teaches Differently refrain from them. So what did Jesus teach regarding tradition? Because of Paulâs teaching differently than by Paulâs own words refrain from him. So that word thatâs translated as tradition is âparadoesisâ and it can mean tradition but it also means instructions and command as well as teaching. But there is issues with 2nd Thessalonians in that 2nd chapter Paul refers to the gospel as his own. So is this a letter than was written by Paul? Just because it made the cannon doesnât mean we know. 2nd Timothy on a scholar level isnât looked at as something Paul wrote because of the wording.

@@thecatholiccouple1 âWhy do I attack fellow Christiansâ. Well Catholics are not Christians nor Christ followers.
