    Trinidad had the potential. But the greedy people and the politicians such as williams, mahabir and ohalloran continued the bad habits of the past governors like Hochoy. Therefore, just like a child who has a bad start in life will have a slimmer chance of happines and success, so to that island which never stood a chance because of greedy governance stemming all the way back to the 1800s. There are good reasons the "Trini" is oblivious to the history of that island. And it will be kept a secrete for many years to come.

    You feel like you are in Great Britain? No Man! Trinidad is too vibrant, lush, welcoming, rich, and beautiful to be anything like Great Britain.You feel like you are in Jamaica? You are not! Trinidad is Trinidad! Jamaica is Jamaica. They are two completely different islands, the Caribbean is not a monolith. As for Trinidad not being a tourist destination outside of Carnival that is not accurate. Many naturalists, adventure seekers, birdwatchers, foodie and other tourist actually visit Trinidad to partake in the numerous activities listed above. Trinidad does not rely solely on Tourism like our Caribbean neighbors as it is not necessary. Trinidad is one if not the richest Caribbean island. Please do better research Trinidad and Tobago invented the only musical instrument in the 20th century it is THE STEELPAN! FUN FACTS: Trinidad produces 1 of the highest grade most flavorsome cocoa beans, the largest asphalt lake in the world in located in La Brea in southern Trinidad. Trinidad is an a unique place unlike any other and it is that that differentiate it from any other.

    "Zero gravity"? What kind of delusional pseudo science is being pushed here? That swirling force on the leaves in water that didn't happen on the equator is called the Coriolis force and is the same force that causes tornadoes and hurricanes. He should have repeated the experiement on the north side to show the leaves swirling in the counter clockwise direction.

    The water direction thing is a scam! While the forces do technically exist, it's not strong enough to change the direction of the water... ESPECIALLY not 3 feet from the equater. The trick is either in the bowl or the way he's pouring it. Please do more research before showing people this.

    Ancient indigenous people from Ecuador did not have a clue about the size and shape of the world they didn't know if it was round or flat ,without that basic information I doubt they knew where was the middle of the world

  • @andrewsmith9174

    I was just in Otavalo. It is a very indigenous community. I stayed at Puerto Lago and the 15 min taxi ride into the city was just $3. There is a park to go hiking and see waterfalls. I had cut at a nearby town, I don’t recall the name. Cut is commonly roasted on a spit. It was ok, like rabbit, but a lot of work for little meat. On the Mitad de Mundial, the village there with the giant tower museum was made after a survey found it to be the equator. However, as technology improved and a new survey was made, the actual equator was found to be some 40 miles (or km, working on memory here) away. The tower museum is a great place and has a lot to see. The tricks for the tourists, like the swirling water and egg balancing, is a waste of your money. The earth is 24,000 miles in diameter. Do you really think Coriolis is going to affect a few gallons of water in a sink a few feet off center? No. Some nice ruin sites are everywhere. Go to Cuenca, there is a museum there with a ruin foundation and garden you can walk; or Ingapirca which is an Inca and Canary Indian site. This is a nice enough video with the usual fluff of the “I’m an adventurous tourist” nonsense. Good that you have some basic Spanish, that does help maybe getting a bit less of the gringo tax. I saw a clip that looked like it was on the Malecón 2000 in Guayaquil. Nice attractions near there too.

    • @oriraykai3610
      @oriraykai3610 Před 7 měsíci

      24,000 miles? WTF? Try 8,000 miles! Maybe the circumference is 24,000... And yes, I think the coriolis force might affect it since I don't know how sensitive the swirling of water is to the effect. It's possible.. He did pour it in and to create a clockwise rotation and distract the tourist by talking to him while pouring though. Didn't help his credibility.

    • @andrewsmith9174
      @andrewsmith9174 Před 7 měsíci

      @@oriraykai3610, yes. I meant circumference. Typo. And no, two gallons of water isn’t affected a few feet off center, especially when this isn’t the center anyway. It’s a trick to fool the gullible.

    No, the monument does not sit on the line of the Equator. Take it from someone who has lived here for the last 12 years. Bring your GPS and use it. Take a picture showing your GPS. Then go take a picture at the monument. Right down the road from the monument you will find another "Center of the Earth". Do not be tricked into believing. Forget the egg and water. The Equator moves with each earthquake. A new monument was suggested several years back, but for what, as it too will move. Use the GPS as we have earthquakes almost daily. Do not get shocked at the Cuy, as most of us had them as pets in the U.S. I ate rabbit in the U.S. and I eat Cuy in Ecuador, which to me, tastes like chicken and pork, but there is little meat unless you pick a fat cuy. I have traveled the World. I chose Ecuador to retire as it is the most unique and the friendliest people in the World. There is nothing like it. I love the place. You must come and visit the pyramids in Cochasqui and hear that story. You have seen only a small area of one of the most diverse places on Earth.
