Does your bars fit them 1600 bagger

Just installed and it was fairly easy. However, there is about a 2 mm gap on the left top peace. Won’t tighten flat..

I know this is old, But would this allow you to raise the brake pedal? I want to raise my pegs about 1/2 and inch and move the brake with it.

Thanks for the vid, only took me 30 min! (Side note, if you have long enough arms you dont even have to remove the plate bolts. I didnt want to have to remove my rear rack.)

Looks very nice. One question though, as these bars are clamped over the frame bars would't they turn backwards in case of a crash and cracking the cases?

Ilium works is an outstanding company. Their side protection bars work well on my 2020 RT. The bars also double as convenient mounting for lights. John did an outstanding job of design and installation of the bars.

I have several IW products are all great quality... just with these "hugged" the pannier tighter and better flow with the lines of the bike. Effective but not super nice looking.

Wow, all the carpers and whiners. These are great bars! And they clearly stand behind their product. .The purpose of these are to save you THOUSANDS of dollars if you drop your bike. Believe me, you won’t care about I some measly pegs that you can replace for a few cents. I know from experience. Great job John. Never mind the begrudgers.

8 min video takes 8 hours of work to install - good product but pain in the rear to install.

I have noticed after seven months my question still has not been answered. IT is too bad your bars cost so much, I can not afford them and if I had the metal and equipment to make them I would put a much lower price on them for those like me who believe yours are too high, every one should be able to afford them easily but can not. They can find good bars they can afford by Googling.

I watched their video of dropping the bike with guards on. I was traumatized when the bike hit the ground. The bars did their job! I have a set of bars on my 2018RT. HOPEFULLY NEVER HAVE TO USE THEM!!!

Once you install the bars and when the bike goes over is one person able to raise it back up or are two needed? My bike has all ready gone over on the road just barely moving and I had to hit the front brake fast when I should have hit the back and I went over, got help from the police to get it back up. I needed bars for that badly. I ride a 09 1200rt and used to build choppers in the 70's so I know a bit.

No one has stated whether they could pick the bike back up by them selves or not and these bikes are not one bit light. I have been a reentry rider the past two years now on a 09 1200rt and finally non expected went down at barely moving speed, I saw brakes and hit my front when I should have hit the back and the bike went down and I was thrown off into some grass, I had leathers on and a police motor was right behind and told me I hit the front after I told him I stopped too fast, helped me get the bike up real quick. I didn't know how BMW's worked and wanted to be sure it would start and did, he could not have been nicer. It kinda shook me up though. I didn't do much damage and was glad I knew how to repair it all since so many don't. STay safe all.

Seems like a fairly straight forward install. Can’t say I like the looks of these guards, but I certainly appreciate the need for them :)

Much more involved installation compared ti the Wunderlich guard. Why???

I have a pair of "hawkbilled" channel locks that make those two electric plugs a much smaller problem.
