No idea why you mapped the left stick to the right. Surely you could have had the left stick on the D-pad and the actual left stick? Or is that not possible?
On 8bitdo ultimate software, you're unfortunately not able to leave the left stick as is. The dpad and left stick inputs need to be swapped simultaneously. What your suggesting sounds a lot better though.
@@laidbackgamingcorner3205 Damn! Yeah, I'd love it if I could have both mapped the same so I can use the d-pad for snappy movement and the stick for when I need more aiming nuance. The mini-map thing on the d-pad could easily be mapped somewhere else (is left stick click used for anything?). Dread is doubtless a quality game but I feel like MercurySteam still don't quite get 2(.5)D gameplay. Analogue sticks will always be a little more sluggish than a d-pad just because of the fact you have to move them further. Still their metroidvanias are improving each time: I thought Mirror of Fate was terrible and Samus Returns was ok. Dread seems to be a further improvement.

Reddit can be scary lol. The game is obviously not suppose to be played with a D-Pad. I just thought it would be a fun experiment to see if it could be done. But I'm glad I was wrong about wanting to okay with a D-Pad. The analog stick is just too good
@@laidbackgamingcorner3205 They could have allowed you to use the d-pad for movement and the left stick for stopping to aim. In terms of movement, the reason I don't want to use the stick is that the movement isn't analogue.

Context: Sholmes' motif is a cogwheel, and Iris has a flower motif. Now the cogwheel is "protecting" the flower
