DOG DATE - Zinger
Hi there. I think this is the second time Dog Date has stirred my channel from its slumber. Can you tell that I like this band yet?
And yes, I’m making a point in using the term “band” here, supplanting the “royal we” exercised when describing the preceding efforts of Dog Date's founding writer, composer, and performer, Dylan Kennedy. You’re not just listening to Dylan banging on some strings and skins alone in his bedroom anymore - for Dog Date’s follow-up vinyl release, “Zinger” finally escaped the confines of its eternally-DIY roots to peel the paint off the walls of a real-life studio, with the entire real-life band lineup brought in tow for this delightful misadventure in garage punk deviancy. That includes TWO *real-life* drummers playing simultaneously. Because loyal readers, there is no “I” in “Dog Date” - trust me, I checked. But you know what you’ll find instead? An “E”, for “tEam”. Boom, *mindfreak*. Fuck you.
I’ve been staring at this text document long enough to feel stupid for trying to one-up myself over my past writings on this band. I implore you to check out my uploads on Dog Date’s two previous LPs, “Hellpod” (czcams.com/video/oG9w1Fy3ezY/video.html) and “Child’s Play” (czcams.com/video/TAQNNgQmEB0/video.html), and possibly read the block of words beneath it if that’s something you’d care for. The vast majority of is still apt for this band’s latest eleven-track serving of harsh, psychedelic, sugary-sweet sleaze. But hey, if words have never been your kinda thing, then simply throw this record on at the highest volume you can legally get away with, find yourself the least structurally-sound piece of drywall in your bedroom, and install craters in that motherfucker till the only thing you’re seeing is fiberglass, like the beautiful cro-magnon you are. This is a twenty-six and a half minute maelstrom of scuzzed-out, heavy-handed, hook-laden instrumentals projected with a studio-grade shimmer that seldom fails to astonish, fronted by mutated vocals dripping with a gallivanting guileless strut befitting of a child with an inhalant abuse problem. There will never be a band that does Dog Date as well as Dog Date does. Never. See you again when their next album releases, dorks.
Records are available at the link below. Here’s a link to an animated music video for “Nuff Said”, a perfect visual compliment to the band’s hyperactive, adderall-deprived sound: czcams.com/video/uaAlwcFirjQ/video.html

Hi, hello, howdy. Got questions? That's great, I don't have answers. I just have new music to share with you and I really think you're going to like it. If the vagueness of that opening isn't enough to satisfy your lust for encyclopedic knowledge on bands that'll give your mother a hernia from listening, let's just pretend... I don't know, that I stole this from the Disney Vault. Yes. These rec...

MANIAC - Tape

I got a new Maniac tape in the mail. I was told this one explicitly doesn't have a title so I've chosen to just call it "Tape", for the sake of labeling it with *something*. If your only exposure to Maniac is the self-titled release I uploaded four years ago (czcams.com/video/OJF_yJ4fG_k/video.html), you gotta know going into this that this isn't going to be the Maniac you remember. Zakk, the m...

For the leather-bound denizens of the punk persuasion, spiked studded or otherwise, a health advisory has been set in place for the world at large: ten tracks of mechanical, noise-contaminated hardcore have been sifted from the toxic runoff polluting Buffalo's city streets and no, this is hardly safe for human consumption. These contagions have been traced back to Science Man, an institution th...
SID EARGLE - Cheap Thrills
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 2 lety
I don't know much about this Sid Eargle character. But no matter how you split it, this person is an inventor; feverishly twisting knobs, flipping switches, and stomping pedals in the uncompromising pursuit of creating the world's first auditory Frankensteinian nightmare, a southern-fried monstrosity of sweaty, soulful rock and roll music that's been haphazardly stitched together by tracks of e...

Just taking a moment to upload a fresh tape rip, like the (not-so) good ol' days. I wouldn't be going through all this trouble if I didn't think an album was worth the technical headaches, and... well, this one certainly is. Abi Ooze's "R.I.P." EP is my favorite punk release of 2021. Full stop. I know there's still another month left for a potentially better album to drop, but considering the m...

Howdy, here with your monthly punk essay. Err, bi-monthly... no, tri-monthly. Quarterly? I don't know. I just wanted to take this opportunity to propagate this particular band again Dog Date, from New Jersey. I first wrote about this project when its last LP, "Hellpod", released in October of 2019, back when I thought a lot harder and had about a hundred more braincells to show for it. Now that...

"When Leopold II ascended to the throne as Archduke of Austria in 1790, we, The Hamiltones, found ourselves out of favor with the court in Vienna. His Majesty disliked our style of music, the lobcock, and we experienced an informal blacklist from all concert halls in the capital. But, our luck turned with the arrival of a peculiar letter in a jet-black envelope, sealed with red wax: a humble in...

New Tiktok-core from California's Free Refills. Disrespect authority (your parents) by blaring synthetic anthems (this album) from your hi-fi stereo sound system (your smart phone) as you record yourself dancing in your bedroom, shamelessly headbanging away the last of your paranoid uncertainties (and potentially the last of your brain cells) in exchange for a fleeting moment of parasocial onli...

This is Sid Eargle, a solo-rocker from South Carolina. These are his electric sounds. Welcome to the trailer park circle pit from hell. The album's introductory track, "Do ya wanna F in that cop car?", aptly introduces the listener to the raw, volatile rock 'n' roll reverence or potentially sacrilege, depending on who you ask that propels this album into a downward spiral of squealing guitar le...

love you so much Anthony I’ve been using your page for music since I was but a wee lil toilet sucker you’ve made a huge impact on my life foo don’t ever forget it, without the music that I found through your page i would have offed myself a long time ago cheers mf
A couple of quick fun facts about this recording in the group. Every person in it was already in other bands except for Kik boy. They also every one of them took up a different instrument than what they were used to playing and had only been playing their respective new instruments for 9 days before they had their first gig with this group. Despite never having recorded a single note they were only together for 11 months and they were offered a touring spot opening up for echo & the bunnymen and they turned it down.
One of the best live bands I’ve ever seen. Saw them in Kentucky, Illinois, and Massachusetts. Destined to die a young death due to recorded untranslatability. “What’s your favorite flava?”
this album fixed my chronic joint pain, big guys the best
Bitching solo at the end of the 1st tune. Goodstuff.
can't believe this is 10 years WTF

I made a Trump comment that got negative replies. I don't even hate or love him. All i have to say is listen to the Neo Neos Neos and if you win the lottery please donate one million to King Connie
Jimmy i got the first two tapes and rest in piece sports boy in the mail today.and vcr's greatest hits will be here in a couple days. Thanks a lot for all the music

Jimmy i bought 4 of the vcr releases tonight...one of my favorite bands... thanks a lot for the great punk rock
Great fuckin band here
Found a copy of this tape today
😷
Soy del df y nunca los he visto en vivo tienen más discos o solo ese
Can you really call it an LP if it's not even close to 22 minutes, but I love this album anyway. HHHv2 and IUTBACP are amazingly weird little songs in a collection full of gems
Is there more Elvis II??
The only disappointment is "EVERY BODY" could have been screamed much harder and louder.
I remember being at a party in L.B. hearing them play this while partying. Good times.
yumm icecream cone
lol i love this
Great ep !!! I had it but sold it a few years ago for $300 ...Listening to it now on CZcams and it sounds fantastic!
Is that Gadifi in his 20's LOL

This project absolutely rips the shit out of my pants
Anyone know where to find some merch since the bandcamp got deleted or whatever?

Damn Lowlife can’t you see
Man I just can't get into this, but that Miss Lady persona on ISS song Elevator Shaft is just infectious.
Volvio el gran jimmy con mas musica de calidad digna de un basurero de detroid pero aun asi me encanta
When is this whole thing going to surface 😵💫
They should have stuck with punk.
I love Jimmy. And I love this band! And I love that the last track is almost a tribute to Heavy Vegetable and/or Thingy. They probably never heard of HV or Thingy, butt it's proof that great minds think alike.
CONEHEADS REUNION!!!

I love your music Jimmy I hope you keep making More
Still wondering when that full length is gonna drop
