    I had the z5 on day one. Not a professional just a hobby. After years of owning I wanted that vintage style Zf so I got one. A week later, I returned it. Even with just the 50mm 1.8 z lens, it felt uncomfortable after a while. Also I didn’t like how the EVF felt compared to my Z5. I had sold my z5 to use money towards the Zf so not I have no camera 😅. I’ve been thinking about going APSC due to smaller form factor. Such as the Sony a6700. Z5 took great shots over the years but I want something smaller to carry around daily that doesn’t scream “photographer!!”. Let’s hope I am right by choosing the a6700 (I like how it has a BSI sensor).

      @@WidePhotographs I don't shoot Sony much anymore but I've owned at on point an A7IV and A7RII and they were both great.. Very reliable. I find the raw files a little more difficult to achieve my style but it's a great camera. I like the X-T5 a little more due to a better screen, higher resolution viewfinder, dual card slots, and the 40mp sensor, but the AF is better on the Sony so there are always trade offs. Congrats!

    If you don’t mind manual focus then the Voigtlander Ultrons and Noktons for the Fuji system have lovely rendering on the XT5.

      @wespellum Před dnem

      You're the second person to recommend them. How is manual focus on Fuji cameras? Does if have a similar green box when you're in focus like Nikon? Or do you use focus peaking? I'll def look into it. Manual focus is all I can use on my film cameras so I don't mind at all!

    • @tonyharrison1
      @tonyharrison1 Před dnem

      @@wespellum I don’t use focus peaking myself as I find it distracting. Instead I use the focus check function which zooms into the image automatically when you rotate the focus ring because the lenses have electrical contacts to allow the camera to recognise it. This can be turned off in settings if you prefer. There are also split prism and microprism options in the focus peaking settings,any can be used or turned off. All of these options can also be used with the split screen function from the Display button on the back of the camera. With this enabled there is a larger screen showing the full scene and a zoomed smaller screen to check focus. As far as the focus ring goes, it’s a genuine manual focus experience, very easy and quick. Manual focus on Fuji autofocus lenses is quite bad which is why I’ve gone the Voigtlander route. I only have two Fuji lenses now with 3 Voigtlander…very happy.

    Why are you always compare the aperture "dof wise" to a full frame camera? A APS-C 1.2 gets as much light as Full Frame 1.2 Do I always want a tiny dof when I want to take photos? No, that is for beginners. I just want to take pictures without taking it with too high ISO oder too long shutter speed.

    • @wespellum
      @wespellum Před 3 dny

      I think it really depends on what you're shooting. If you are a portrait photographer, a shallow depth of field and background separation may be what you need. I get what you mean about light and aperture, but larger sensor and less pixel density combined with a fast aperture will always net better low light performance. We're talking tiny differences, not huge ones with todays cameras. I appreciate the comment!

  • @winc06
    @winc06 Před 3 dny

    Enjoyable presentation. One small quibble. Depth of field is not "better" on the Nikon. Depth of field describes the depth of acceptable sharpness at the point of focus, not how out of focus the background is. Depth of field on is narrower with the Nikon and you may like that in some situations. In other situations the wider depth of field of the Fuji will be "better".

    Nice video! I don't miss my xt5 at all. Was a nice machine but I don't think it gives the creative freedom that the Nikon does. The images were beautiful but it felt like the same kind of beautiful as every other Fuji. The ZF is a machine that you simply can't put down and the files are more flexible. Like forward to next Zf or if Nikon manage to pull a range finder 👌

  • @liciniooliveira-becas3618

    NIght photo, higher ISO is not a slight advantage to ZF.. rather big honestly. But is is "easier" to find/buy a compact F1.4 for APS-C that closes the gap.. But yeah, Nikon ZF is a huge camera and the ergonomics are a mess. Although, very pretty to look, really pretty. Fujifilm X-T5 is suffering on autofocus precision but is very compact and in use it is one of the fastest cameras after Q Menu and dials adjusted...

      @@liciniooliveira-becas3618 absolutely agree. Especially after I took the Zf to LA this week to test further at night. You can get similar performance on the Zf with a f2 lens like the 40 vs needing an f1.4 lens on the Fujifilm bodies which start to make it on the larger side. In normal lit conditions it's closer. While I have both cameras and others that cover full frame ,APSC and micro 4/3 between Nikon ZF and the Fujifilm XT3 and XT5 That I have the XT5 has a better dual card slot set up, can use a wired remote and is easier to change from auto focus single to continuous with the lever on the bottom left front of the camera. Fujifilm has a variety of different f1.2 aperture lens and the lens selection for the retro design is greater with Fujifilm, the camera is also lighter and that makes it easier to use as an every day carrying camera. That being said I plan on keeping both as they are unique in their own way and different than the rest the digital cameras on the market. They are the closest to using a film camera in a digital format.

    I owned and used both XT5, Xh2 with their newest Top 1.4 glass vs. Now Nikon z63 and z8… Fuji lost on Autofocus, its just so unpredictable when its gonna miss vs. Nikon that works as expected 95% of the time. None reach Sonys level of „braindead but sharp“ reliability, but Fuji drove me crazy. I couldve lived with the tradeoffs (dof, lowlight and all wouldve been fine), but the af…even when it showed the right eye in focus it STILL backfocused for many, many shots for no reason… I shoot mainly weddings and couldnt risk it…

Then add their AMAZING Videofeatures and Colour Profiles and youd be set. I would 100% be a Fuji shooter then and invested maybe 20k into them…but so? AND Nikon now has internal RAW recording as well… Specs isnt everything, i switched AWAY after 4 years of Sony, but the tradeoffs with Fuji are too many…Nikon has the colour, the art, the photography first stuff AND the technical ability to deliver… PLUS: when they ever bring their 35 1.2 S Line i will be stuck with that lens forever… if they make the 35 1.2 S-Line they would have to take it from me out of my grave im sure…the 35 1.8 is already so absolutely phenomenal…

I don't see myself buying new cameras for a while, hopefully lol, unless they improve on the ZF in certain areas like portability, ergonomics (can't make a heavy camera w/o a grip, dumb move on their part lol), and a screen like the one Sony has that's super versatile... until then, I will enjoy this camera, I just hope they release more pancake lenses to make it really a small set up... So yeah, I'm super happy, I personally don't nit pick or compare cameras too much... a better camera is not going to help me compose better, understand lighting, be more creative etc. Looking forward to more of your images and I will do the same, enjoy man, cheers!

    I agree both the XH2/S body's should have had dual Cfexpress cards; not those slow shitty SD cards, as for the PC sync terminal yes we still need it, when your at an event with everyone using wireless triggers and other devises the radio interference can cause misfires and strobes firing for no reason, a cable is 100% reliable. My mate shooting with Z6 had a hot shoe failure, if he had a PC sync terminal the option would have been there to connect the speed light via a short cable.

    I'm pretty sure your AF-D lens is not going to autofocus on the Zf. If the lens has a screw drive, there is no motor in the Zf. Nikon did put one in the older Df but it's not even in the FTZ or FTZII adapters. So basically I think your 28mm will only be manual focus only on the Zf. None of the Z series cameras will AF an AF-D or screw-drive lens.
