I've just started watching and haven't even seen 3/4 of those scenes yet, so I don't have the same emotional connection but omg even I was tearing up by the end of the video. Her story line hit home for me big time!

Why so

To some extent, I think Dana's cancer was meant to be some kind of punishment for what she did to Alice in the third season. To try and get closure from her relationship with Lara and end up starting another one and abandoning Alice just like that? That was a rotten thing to do. The cancer could only be the world punishing Dana for that. And of course, Alice and Lara would have a fling to "comfort" each other in the wake of Dana's passing. Lesbians in The L Word are like British people who speak with American accents: very inaccurate.

I can't even begin to describe how much you're wrong. It doesn't matter if it's just a tv show, if it's nothing but fiction; the idea of cancer being a sort of "punishment" to a certain someone that did something bad is so wicked, because the cancer that kills a child molester, for instance, is the SAME one that kills a house wife with three children of her own. God, how can you bring yourself to say something like that? Also, the “american conservatives” you pointed out gave us beautiful series like South of Nowhere, that aired from 2005 to 2008 (kind of along with The L Word), movies like Better Than Chocolate (a 90s romantic comedy) and many others, where lesbian love was for sure lauded, so don’t generalize, please. Now, I won’t say that I agree with everything I’d seen in The L Word, because it’s obviously impossible, but I understand why it was the way it was. Back in the early 2000s, lesbian steamy scenes was still something unthinkable to the U.S., I believe (it’s not where I’m from), especially at prime time, so the only way the lesbian community would get scenes like those was through a show where the main characters had a lot of different relationships (some of them involving affairs). And, as a lesbian myself, I truly don’t take it personally because I know it’s purely a matter of entertainment. You shouldn’t as well.

Natália Scalvenzi I just believe in the saying, "What goes around comes around," whether for men, women, gay people or straight people. Dana did a very terrible thing, to two women, first Tonya (who unsurprisingly was doing the same) and then Alice, who she dumped Tonya for in the first place to be with Lara. You don't just do that to people, because it hurts them. You do it enough, eventually the world will punish you, and that's what happened to Dana. Now I know the cancer was only because Erin Daniels wanted to leave the series (why else would they kill her off). It could have been an STD or something. I know its the same thing that can kill the single mother of two children. It's sad, I know, but the world is cruel, wicked and merciless to both good and bad people. Dana wasn't the worst person on the planet, but what she did was far from right. In the fiction of the story, the cancer was the punishment the world decided to deal her for what she did to two women. I only wish the world was as quick to deliver such punishments to those who are truly harming it, such as rapists and sadists. You tell me you're a lesbian and I admire you for being so open, especially after this series portrayed lesbians so inaccurately as unfaithful sexual predators. I'm straight, but I still wish there were more people like you around. Maybe this fucking homophobia will finally disappear once and for all.

The Dragon Killer ok yes there are consenquences to one's actions. But to say what you are insinuating as if any human being deserves cancer is just dispiteful and heartless. I can't even find the word for someone of what it takes to imply something like that. Cancer is a horrible thing that kills so many all around the world despite what they have done in thier lives to to say it the punishment for some bad choices is just outragious, insensitive, mean and as i said heartless.
