There's no open chat. Only seated chatting to create small chat rooms with only people you're sitting at benches or tables with, or chats with friends you've made. If you friended with candles, you need to spend more candles to unlock chat. If you used a qr code to friend someone, you auto have chat unlocked because the game assumes you knew them already so it gives you chat. This is to reduce toxicity and make it easier for people to walk away from really disturbing encounters.

I regret not listening to my gut more. One time, years ago before I even knew about Sky, I got a one word message from someone: "hello". And for some reason, I had a million alarm bells going off. but I didn't listen because I was worried I would be shutting down someone over my anxiety creating tigers where there were none. That person stalked me for two years or more, dragged me into so many bad situations, drained me emotionally, and block evaded me on my accounts over 20 times on my email and social media. Anyone reading this heed the warning: you're not an asshole for blocking someone due to bad vibes even if nothing has happened yet. Listen to that feeling. I lost over two years of my life to that person. I don't want that for anyone else.

Mhm! I made it out of that somehow. It was really awful. Kids can be so scary. that freak of nature was 16 when she started stalking me. Anyone who says that kids can't do fucked up things to adults is a fool. Glad I got out of there.
