😩. Puffing their cheeks ain’t hurting them at all. Idk you gotta do what works for you . I play trumpet, so brass mouthes pieces bigger & take a different breathe technique.so idk how they even bring that much breath 😮💨and I know if you going up in range on trumpet you may not look so pretty doing it, soooo. Greatttt. Both trumbome and sax solos 🫵🏾 esp at their age even better

watched this over 20 times not even exaggerating
This was great music. I’m 75, I grew up listening to them, and the Mills Brothers and others. No stupid antics, no fowl language, no jumping around, no butt twerking or crotch grabbing. The “singers” today should watch and learn. Bill Kenny was a class act. The Ink Spots are my all time favorite group. Bless them. 🙏🏻
😢 alguien de 2024 😢
Balm for the soul.
Is that wycliffe on tuba
OK. This will sound strange, but the sax player who goes and sings with the Modernaires looks an awful lot like Bing Russell (Kurt Russell’s father, actor, owner of the Portland Mavericks back in the 70s). Anyone else see that? Could it be?
Some Guy: We now carry on with that famous musical act, the Ink Spots! Bill Kenny: The way that you’ve been teasing I’ve been plenty burned Love is out of season As far as I’m concerned You have brought me sleepless nights And oh, such lonely days If you don’t want to lose me Better mend your ways… All: I’ve got a bone to pick with you For the way you always pick on me And for actin’ so indifferently Now, why can’t you be sweet? Do I deserve such treatment? Deek Watson: I’ve got a bone to pick with you For the many, many things you do When we’re in Central Park on a moonlit night, I pick a bench You pick a fight (All) Fun is fun but baby You know that ain’t right The way you pick on me Yes, yes Yes, yes Deek Watson: Oh, you dirty dog, yeah Hoppy Jones: I’ve got a bone to pick with you, Lil Bit. Bill Kenny: What did I done? Hoppy Jones: Done? The way you always pickin’ on me. Bill Kenny: I don’t bother you. Hoppy Jones: That’s the problem, trying to act so indifferently. Bill Kenny: Stop talking in big words. Hoppy Jones: How come you can’t be sweet? Bill Kenny: What you mean? Hoppy Jones: Do I deserve such treatment? Bill Kenny: I’ll be sweet, sugar. Hoppy Jones: I reiterate, I got a bone to pick with you. Bill Kenny: Now he gotta shame, after all I- Hoppy Jones: ‘Bout all those things you’ve been doing. Bill Kenny: I stay home every night! Hoppy Jones: Yeah, with who? Treat you right and you just don’t play fair. Bill Kenny: Can’t prove that. Hoppy Jones: Better watch yourself. Bill Kenny: What you mean? Hoppy Jones: You’re liable to get the AL. Bill Kenny: “AL?” Hoppy Jones: You know how you’ll end up? Bill Kenny: Yeah, how’s that? Hoppy Jones: In a- All: Rocking chair! Oh, the way you pick, Yes, it makes me sick It’s a dirty trick The way you pick on… Me! Hoppy Jones: Stop pickin’, woman! Bill Kenny: I ain’t doing nothing! Deek Watson: Me…
Thanks for the transcription! The only error I see is you identified Hoppy Jones as Chas Fuqua. Fuqua is the guitarist here.

GOAT
One of the key artists in the development of popular music.
Grew up with this song in Milwaukee in the 60's. Great times. Beer capital of the world (at the time).

When I was a child I just loved these lovely singers. I can hear them again and again
Pretty funny!
Electrizante. El mejor
Trees Lounge
Watching Trees Lounge. But I've literally bought the best of The Ink Spots & fall asleep to the CD every night & all songs use the same intro & instrumental backing. But as the songs go on. You hear the quality of the instrumentalists evolving into perfection 🎼
Going to be honest, when I clicked on the thumbnail I thought Victor was Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees…
Many Thanks for all these very nice comments for my husbands Music !! Very Happy to hear from all of You ! Happy to know He lives on !!!💖
One day ill be with my wife dancing with her to this song on our special day in june, wish me luck.
A voice to cherish forever
Just as Nat finishes singing, he sets his eyes on one of the female singers. At the end of the last musical note, he stands up to take hold of her extended hands. Her jubilance seems to suggest something like, "You DID it!" They are about to embrace when the video ends. It doesn't seem like a coincidence that she's sitting across from Nat, in his view. Whenever I watch this video, I wonder about the story behind that moment. Do they know one another? Did they become acquainted during rehearsal for the show? I'd love to know.
I've listened to this for years and I love it. Thank you Austin for bringing these back for people to hear. I learned of The Four Vagabonds from your videos and now they're one of my favorite artists.
I'm glad! I'm curious, what's your personal favorite Vagabonds song?
@@AustinCasey Probably My Heart Cries and Move It Over. There was another band but I can't remember... If I do I'll send it here.
Sounds like something that would be playing on an old Disneyland ride.

Amazing find, Austin. I know you answered that this was a Brunswick and not Decca label release, but, did you know Decca, themself, were great for sending different studio cuts to various parts of the U.S.? Two 78's that drove my brother and me crazy that Decca put out, were 'I Could Make You Care' by the Ink Spots (there are at least a half dozen that Decca put in circulation; Bill sounds almost identical in each while Hoppy gives a different take each time!). The other Decca release was 'I Remember The Cornfield ' with Evelyn Knight and Gordon Jenkins. On one, that is generally sold on CD, Evelyn, during mid-point of recording, sings the introduction, while the version of my Dad's 78, Gordon replaces the sung intro with his one-finger piano signature style. Both versions were sold in the US. The only way for a collector to differentiate between these versions (when trying to obtain a preferred take) is by what song is on the flip side...I DID finally manage to purchase a version of 'Cornfield' on 78 rpm for my brother, identical to our Dad's record. Believe it or not, it was from Evelyn Knight's personal collection!
I wazent bor in this live 70,but goog to know

Hi, Austin, some time ago (about a year or more) I ask to you about a live rendition of "That's When Your Heartache Begins" with a soprano falsetto note at the end (in the last "beginsss").Sounds like it was performed in a club with the clinking of glasses sounding in the recording. You told me that surely was not Bill Kenny who sangs and the recording were made with another formation. Do you have this recording or knows who to find it (the singer, the formation, the album, etc.)? Many thanks and excuse my bad english.
Luciano invernizzi, grande Alvin alcorn, ❤
Such an artist.
One of the few songs that continues to bring tears to my eyes. Barbara Jean, sadly underrated child star of yesteryear, sang it to perfection in the Bing Crosby musical, If I Had My Way (1940).
Amazing
