Why does everything have to be open world? I used to love open world game until they became incredibly tedious with a million points on a map to clear with many boring quests made to kill time and add nothing to the story.

Bro, start killing the tree enemies in chapter 4. They drop mind cores like 7 out of every 10 kills. Just found it and it's been nuts.

I compare it to ninja Gaiden and maybe a bit of gow. A series that existed before the dark souls genre. Both ninja Gaiden and wukong have hack n slash elements. Big bosses, Chinese/Japanese ethstetic, and so on so fourth. I just see more similarities with ninja Gaiden then it does elden ring or darks souls but thats just me.

I’m so sick of open world it’s all just a waste of time. Stellar blade for example could have been way better if they cut all that open world crap and just made more linear levels. Instead it’s a 7.

Here is my experience as a first time souls gamer: I thought the keyboard and mouse was pretty bad but I got used to it after a few hours, still a little janky but not bringing down the game too much I thought there were some annoying features like the horse thing or not being able to respec More on the respec: I thought it was extremely bad how they did it, what’s the point of having so many weapons when I have to go around looking for a larval tear just to TEST a new build and I’ll need another tear to switch back My final issue, I thought the game did a poor job of storytelling/guiding, after beating the game I feel I know next to nothing about the story and I had to go watch CZcams videos about the lore, there were also many moments where the game didn’t tell you what to do and apparently you have to read item descriptions which I find boring and unimmersive (ex the lift having a second option) Overall still a good game I would say a 9/10

It happened with Elden Ring in 2022, Baldurs Gate 3 in 2023, and Black Myth Wukong in 2024. What do all these games have in common? They're all large, expansive games with a particular focus on customization, exploration, and unusual storytelling. They all performed extremely well and received 9s and 10s across the board and are all quite lengthy to justify the $60 price. And Elden Ring received a massive expansion earlier this year to massive critical aclaim and it's just been confirmed that Wukong will follow suit with two expansions of their own. And all of this without any political agendas being pushed, micro transactions, or huge performance issues and what issues were there got patched away fairly quickly. The media tried to destroy and invalidate all three of them for one reason or another but none were successful, leaving these three games to serve as a perfect example of everything modern gaming SHOULD be.

I havent grabbed a PS5 because I've been waiting for the pro: if they're available, I'm getting one.

Not only is the PS5 Pro overpriced, the console exclusives for Playstation are almost as mid as PS3 since all the good ones like God of War and Ghost of Tsushima got ported to PC.

$700. This is exactly what I was worried about when this new gen started, this is the $600 PS3 all over again. But sometimes you gotta learn the hard way twice I guess. The good news is that we've already seen what happens when Sony hardware goes unsold, after some months pass it gets major price drops. Just look at what happened with PSVR2, sold terribly at launch but about a month or two ago got a major price cut and suddenly people started buying them. Sooner or later Sony will learn, you can't just charge a shit ton of money and think people will just pay it especially for a mid gen refresh.

I was in the market for a second ps5. Just ordered the disc drive. This is perfect timing. It comes out just in time for Christmas. And I own 10/13 of the games they listed at the presentation. Ive played Rebirth. Now I can play the others on my Pro.
