I read this in high school in about 2005.... I remember I loved the book and found I couldn't put it down and wasn't much of a reader.... Just ordered it on Amazon and looking forward to reading it again now that I'm 34 years old.

My all time favorite author. Reason I admire him is because his childhood and adolescence was similar to mind dealing with speech problems, bullying and teasing from peers in school and trouble making friends.

I remember reading this in 5th grade. This was the first book I was so invested in that I took it out to read instead of playing at recess.

@@greeneyelightskin746 unrestricted internet access made it so I got the gist of basically everything talked about but even with that I was just completely infatuated with how raw the book felt because of parts like that. Absolutely no idea how tf it got in my 5th grade library back then, but I’m definitely not mad at it, I guess you could say.

I discovered this man from a 9th grade reading project I had to. I picked his book "Hoops" and I jus couldn't put it down. From there I read several more book from him. I loved his books and they got me through hard times as an adolescent. R.I.P. to the king
