Mine was a tuna bacon melt. One day mum came in and said she'd make me a melt for lunch and asked if I wanted bacon or tuna. I really liked the sound of both options and being way too busy doing whatever important business little me was doing to make a decision, I said "uhh.. both!" Mum laughed and shook her head. A few minutes later she comes back with a bacon and tuna melt. With a smirk she was like "there you go, you silly boy 😂" I have always had a bigger salt tooth than a sweet tooth so I instantly fell in love.

I hate when people leave the shrimp tails on when making shrimp pasta. It’s just messy and doesn’t add any additional flavor that wouldn’t have already been there without the tails.

My parents worked all the time and i never had a sitter (besides my older sister who just did her own thing and didnt watch me at all) so it was usually up to me to make myself dinner. We usually had white bread or hotdog buns lying around, so I did all kinds of stuff with them. My favorite was to open a hotdog bun, sprinkle in white sugar (and maybe some cinnamon if i was feeling fancy) and then drip a few drops of water on the sugar to make it stick like "frosting". I also did strawberry jam and sprinkles on white bread, i made sooo much cinnamon toast, and we used to make cheese toast (literally just bread and a slice of cheese on top) until my sister caught the toaster oven on fire. We never kept sweets in the house (no soda, no candy, no desserts, etc) except sometimes my mom would buy a few boxes of brownie mix at a time when they went on sale. So sometimes I would steal a box of brownie mix. But my mom would smell the brownies when she got home if I cooked them, so I would just add water to the bag and eat the brownie batter with a plastic spoon in my room. I did the same thing with lemonade, I wanted some kind of dessert so I took packets of lemonade powder, mixed them with brown sugar (the only bag of sugar i could steal from the pantry without my mom noticing) and water. I made it into a really gross "frosting" and just ate it with a spoon. Now I'm a baker, so it's weird how that turned out. I went from eating brownie mix with water out of a bag, to baking gourmet brownies in a bakery
