As a classic fan I blame Nintendo for this and they caused this by changing the formula for knowing parent reason but I won't attack modern fans for liking the newer games . But I just want them to understand that we are not saying the game is bad we just don't like this changes . So it's sad and messed up how we get viewed as the toxic ones but nobody call out the modern fans when the ttyd remake got announced because they was I'm going around attacking the classic fans I'm just saying

in my opinion, super paper mario is my favorite and the best paper mario game. everything is just perfect, and i just love the villains in this one

They should go back to the original vombat system gor the next new game. It would solve their all the problems with the series. Some times a mechanic is so good that it made the game better for it and just being new for the sake of new isn't the best possible solution.

More battle themes are already confirmed. It's not per chapter though. It's per area. Hooktail castle for example has a separate theme from petal meadows.

While I get the appeal of seeing the Paper Luigi story, I like keep it to the imagination. Also, you really have no idea how thrilled I was when I saw the concept art for Doopliss!

When a new side story was added to a remake/remaster/port for a Mario game, the title was always ‘(name of the original game) + (name of the new side story)’; good examples are Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr’s Journey, and 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. There were no changes in the title for SMRPG remake, and there were no side stories. Since it is the same for this remake (just ttyd) I don’t think there will be a new side story.

I can very much understand why some people hate super paper mario, because its not actually paper mario lol, though i just think its a great 2d platformer with unique designes, deep! story, though not much replay value besides that one lvl where you come back and fight ninja's and purchase the robot butterfly.

I would fully agree with the list. I’d section them off … 1. TTYD - best overall, back tracking is the only issue. 2. 64 - Extremely enjoyable yet traditional … 3. SPM - Best Story, if only we had partners ( who weren’t just tools ) … 4. Origami - Moments of brilliance but not quite there and the enemy stationary boss thing was dumb … 5. CS - Ehh, it’s here … 6. SS- I’m convinced anyone that likes this sniffs glue regularly …. I don’t mind all the paper gimmicks that have came from the modern games , but RPG elements, the story, and the unique characters and partners is what made the first 2 so great . I feel like Nintendo can and should combine them. I’m glad they are willing to return to form to let us show them what we want.

I do think the Luigi side content could be a possibility in the remake we'll just have to wait and see

Yea even if they don't add a new boss gauntlet or luigies post game at least they did confirm the jukebox feature which just in case you can't re fight the bosses you can listen to their awesome Themes whenever you want which is a bit of an improvement but i do still hope they do add something more though like a lot of others i either want luigies story as a post game and or a boss rush either one would be nice but even if they don't do this which i think is highly Unlikely because they fixed The Backtracking For Christ Sake i bet we haven't seen everything yet so hopefully they did listen and also added something new like luigies story that would be Awesome.

The reason why fans are so divisive is because newer fans don't know what they are missing. Older fans have had those incredible experiences with the first two Paper Mario games and are extremely upset at how their favorite Mario series is being treated and how inferior they have made the newer games. Newer fans only know the new formula, and when they see older fans talking about how garbage they are compared to the first two, they take offense to it.

Super Paper Mario is NOT underrated at all. Take a look at this comment section and you’ll see why.

I’ll admit most of the Paper Mario games suck but my favorite would be The Origami King. True it doesn’t have the same features like the other games but we gotta admit some of the moments were awesome like that play in Shogun Studios, the faceless toads on the dance floor in the Temple of Shrooms, that airship fight with the planes and that volcano chase kicks ass. But I never got a chance to play Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. Can’t wait to play the remake for switch

It’s like 2D vs 3D zelda and metroid fans. I think the issue that Nintendo messed up on was that they completely abandoned the RPG Paper Mario genre for literally 20 years despite there being a consistent audience for that type of game. If people can live today with both 2D and 3D mario platformers at the same time then I don’t see why it couldn’t be the case for the Paper Mario series as well

I just started playing 64 3 weeks ago and it’s now one of my favorite games ever, so it’s less nolstagia than you think. I’ve played the Origami King and I felt kinda bored by it. I think it is a very memorable game and it is a good game, I just feel like it was boring. I can’t wait to play the Thousand Year Door.

It's weird seeing that the older side is being viewed as the "the most toxic" when the newer ones are always nitpicking the default of the old games, pretending that the multitude of negative aspect of the newer games can be ignored by saying "It's not that bad" and completely shut down any debates with "You pesky TTYD fan, always here to ruin the fun" when people ask for each other's opinion.

I only played TTYD amd Super but I thoroughly enjoyed both because of how emersive the stories felt. Only modern one I'd give a chance is Origami King since it has a battle system that seems competent and the story and characters are likeable enough.I didn't bother with Sticker Stat because it felt like the battle system in that game was a sin to RPGs. It just rubbed me the wrong way and Colot Splash looked more enjoyable but ghe only highlight to me were the lines of dialogue given to the shy guys.
