Search youtube for "How to set a squirrel tube trap with and without the setting tongs" It shows details this guy's hands cover.
How much does this thing cost?
The rear wall of the trap has been removed. With it still in place, how would you ever be able to set this trap???
Guess I got weird one.
How do you recommend securing that trap on a tile roof?
Very good video- the Duke 160 traps I purchased safety latches are long enough where the jaws have a long way to go to allow you to set the trip bar. When doing so the safety latches always fall away and become useless. Is that normal?
At what temperatures can this be applied? How long before rain affects it?
Is it waterproof when sealed
I bought the setters last week and they work great. I can't set set the bigger traps by hand anymore but now it's no problem. I would recommend these for anyone setting the beefed up traps.
Thank you!! Mine has dug tunnels entirely around the perimeter of my house, thru my septic field and is driving my dogs crazy. So glad to find this post!!❤
Yep yep same here and when I catch them come to Jesus and the compost pile they will go I'm over it
@@zmblion 5.56 works everytime. The bad thing is if you dont get a clean shot, they run under ones deck and stink for about 2 months. Just got a trap and now have to figure how to set it.🤨
@@oldgoat50 patience, trial and error. Works every time.
Just got ours today
The trap of opportunity that’s a neat way to do it we us the small traps for squirrels and when they go into a hole we would add wire mesh and fasten them to the hole. But we only did that when we seen the animal go in tho.
You couldn't shove a stuffed animal in there so we could see it in action?
Thanks for making the video! It is helpful to understand it before I buy it.
I thought you would have come up with a design by now, that when triggered the dog would not hit the target before the kill bar, also surely you would want your target to come in from the front, so the kill bar hits it in the head or neck for an instant kill
I can set a 330 with ONE HAND!! I have to. I lost the other hand in a 330 trap! :):):)
Thank you.
Great video thank you very much! You should’ve showed people the rope method, I find it is the best in the field! You don’t have a big awkward set of tongs to carry around just a 6 foot length of double over, and Paracord, or something along that size and diameter. Some thing I do that I have not seen anyone else do when I set my springs in anticipation of getting them to the field and having them ready to set an a rapid get in get out quick situation. After I sent my springs, I put the spring lock on, Then I use an extra large, heavy duty, zip tie from spring loop to spring loop to just put enough tension on that the safety latch stays placed but has something to help hold the spring as it’s bouncing around being carried to your set. I’ll leave that on until the entire trap set is ready to be placed in its final position, once everything is in final position, I cut the zip ties, remove the spring safeties, and move on to the next set. Tongs are nice but I’ve left them in the field before by accident, I consider them to be awkward to use, but a foot loop rope fits right near pocket, and even a kid 11 to 13 years old can use that loop with six pass-throughs to set the springs. So show the rope it is in my opinion the best method! By the way, did you shoot this video at a place with archery targets near a gun store in Obetz Ohio? If so, we are neighbors and need to talk lol.
Another great pigeon only bait is whole dried peas.
You should show the beaver doing in this trap. People should know what they are setting a creature up for.
Thank you.
Use an empty caulk tube with the end cut fully off. Cut 8 inches of copper mesh. Wrap around tube like a chute and secure mesh with duct tape.
Thank you for the demo.
This product and flash seal were great about 10 years ago, but now it’s really made poorly. I have used this on a crown and flash seal about 9 years ago and it’s held up very well in the north east weather. I’ve used it on multiple crowns and used flash seal multiple times in the past without issues. I did a job last year with crown seal and flash seal and it was cracking and pealing this year. It’s just overpriced garbage now. I will never trust these products again.
I was hoping you would do measurements.
I caught a possum 🤦
Why do you promote these? Humans cause the most damage on planet Earth. We are literally destroying the planet and you have the nerve to promote these cruel traps.
Need one of those 👍👍
Hello, I'm from Brazil, could you share the main dimensions of the bat trap, (length, smaller and larger diameter,....), we don't have it for sale here in Brazil and I intend to build my own with pvc pipe.
I need one where can I buy one
Just caught our "Goffie" or Goffeetta". Used a plan similar to what we see here. Did not have bait. Did buy green beans, cabbage and carrots. Did not worry about scent or de-scenting trap. Placed trap near his hole. Land scaper re- located it for $25.
Bait it first! Bait it first! Bait it first! Bait it first! Bait it first! Bait it first! Bait it first! NEVER take a chance by baiting a trap that is under tension. No, I did not take a chance. I need my fingers. I use them every day.
Hello, where can I get one?
Last month, April of 2023, I had run out of options to recover a dumped dog that had been on the run for more than two months. I phoned WCS and spoke to people familiar with the Collarum - they were very helpful. I practiced setting it up over and over again to be sure I had it right for the dogs capture, and on that day it worked flawlessly. Thank you WCS ! czcams.com/video/9dMFnCC9bH8/video.html
I wouldn't buy anything else for exterior applications but solar seal. Outstanding quality will bond to most building materials. Kind of costly but you get what you pay for. Excellent product💯💯
Never touch your traps without rubber gloves. Your scent will keep the animals afraid to go for the bait!
I ran Traps for many years with nothing but a piece of chute cord./.
Then go back to your outdated ways old man. Stop whining on a CZcams video with your "back in my day" crap.
Where can I get the "Lever Setter" (1:46), don't see it on your website. Thx.
I put a screw on soda cap with bate in it (usually Nutella) and place the cap on the floor of the trap against the back. I catch mice all the time.
Well made design. Let me guess, the aluminum tray has been replaced with a plastic one.
That's a wonderful design. Thank you for sharing this video.
Great trap!! I finally got the pesky squirrel that’s been getting to my bird feeder!
Just set them by hand!
I'm too old.
I'll be buying one of these soon. Excellent place to get traps and supplies! Fast shipping too!
How does the trigger system work
Good trap... looks like the newer ones added the safety.
Hello I am interested in getting a trigger system can you please let me and the other fans know where we can get this trigger system thank you Albert
How can I get one of these triggers
Thanks for the video. I just got some of these and think I'm pretty bright with stuff...nope, not that bright. I was trying to manually open the jaws and put the long leg of the tail between the jaw... Thanks again.
Thanks for vid showing safest way to set trigger. Dang that spring is strong! I followed your technique, felt a little more confident after seeing you do it. That would destroy a hand or finger for sure!
Which one did you get? I heard a guy on another video saying the small rodent one (new model with the safe set spring) felt kind of weak.
