    It was my 16th birthday and my mom took me down to the Sears store in Glendale back in 1976 and bought me this exact 328 Floorjack and a set of wrenches that I still own to this day. They both have served me well. Thx Mom RIP!

    I have an old floor jack that's over 30 years old. It spent most of the last 20 years outside usually under a car. It quit working today even though it was full of oil. It has foam in it and I decided to drain it it appeared as though it had water in it. After draining and refilling it, I pumped at several times to get the air out. It would not jack up, I watched your video and saw you lift it by hand slowly and put it back down. Pump to get the air out again this time when I tightened it, the Jack pumped up thanks for the video, looking it up by hand was what I was missing. 6:16

    Man he took great care me having a career 1st job doing tires when split rims on big rigs. And bias ply tires nylon cord were the rage. I watched the radials begin using radial tubes on flats when the repairs in holes too big to plug n patch radial patched. We would powder up the tire after we aired up the tire removed the obtrusion plug hole and radial patch it then place a tube (radial tube) to add support the repair in the tire tread hole that would possibly tear on single ply radial .

  • @precinct1baltimorecountyre588

    I have one dad bought new 1975. I worked in garages since 1982 to 2004. I'm not sure mij. It's a beast underated in wwl. Like the 1974 Crosby Montgomery ward 26 in self propelled mower with a deck like a tractor that has fly wheel n spindle the momentum will walk thru 2 foot high grass never stall. It's a beast with 5hp Briggs n Stratton cast iron cylinder commercial industrial again under rated the 6.5 or even 8hp modern Briggs are smaller and aluminum. Vintage tools steel and design was made to last forever n be rebuilt. To buy that mower with 3/16 thick deck and frame is 3 Xs thicker. Than today's junk. And that mower is a beast cutting our 3/4 acre zoysia lawn for 27 yrs b4 Dad's body wore out with knees n hips n shoulders replaced so he bought a tractor. And now I use it as back up for our new bobcat zero turn and the frame n deck are comprebable. Only it costs 5500$ and Dad bought that commercial industrial cylinder in 1974 at Montgomery wards bargain basement on Monroe St Baltimore MD for 80 $ ITS DRIVE IS HIGH WHEEL True SOIKE WITH ROLLER GEARS THAT COGS THAT PROPELLED THE REAR TIRES. VINTAGE TOOLS ARE THE BEST.

    So, I have been familiar with these jacks since the early 80's, although I never owned one until a few days ago. I was riding around my neighborhood and spotted a pile of stuff that had been set on the street for the city to pick up...... Well, I recognized the color and white handle immediately, it was like a lightning bolt to my memory. 60 seconds later and it's in my possession and headed home. The lock/unlock gears were locked up, they were easily freed up and working again, but it's not lifting. I'll add fluid and if that doesn't work, I'll buy the rebuild kit. Sears made these jacks in several sizes, I suspect that they were all the same jack, just different labels. Thanks for posting a video on this great jack.

    Great video...DONT MEAN TO OFFEND YOU...I did exactly what you did as describe in your video ages ago.....This was the HARD WAY...THE EASY WAY....Was just REMOVE THE BATTERY and you have all the easy SPACE to remove ( with a long nose pliers for clamps) just 1of the radiator hose and the 2 10mm bolts that hold the thermostat... You have soooo much easy access space by just removing the battery....You dont even need to remove the electrical wiring...and you will find out when you remove one of the radiator hose connected to the thermostat....you wont actually lose not even half a gallon of anti freeze...And my FINAL ADVICE....YES....PUT A J.B.WELD WATERPROOF GASKET SEALER....I learned the hard way when i replaced my thermostat the 1st time ( without putting a gasket sealer ) only the black OEM rubber gasket.....And soon...i get LEAKS. from the housing....AND THATS WHY I LEARNED TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT ( REMOVE BATTERY EASY WAY )... Once again...thank you for putting this video...This is how I learn from Good considerate people like you....WITHOUT YOU AND OTHERS....I would never learn to fix my cars and save money....Thank you SIR....🌟😆👍👋

    there is a second screw on the right side of the jack (you can clearly see it at 11:00 of the video). What that screw is supposed to do? Does it have to stay all closed or maybe it has tu be tuned? thank you anyone can give me the answer

    • @Appoloimperial
      @Appoloimperial Před rokem

      I think that jack would have had a red plastic cap over that screw originally that says, "CAUTION - DO NOT ADJUST". Factory setting that should be left alone. Don't know exactly why, or what it does, but doesn't seem that you should try tuning it.

    I don't disrespectful but the problem of us manufacturing is that even when they were making TVs they will fail and that's why the Asian markets started getting a lot of their supply also they will make things cheaper cuz it has slave labor labor people that just worked on the complexes all day when almost no pain and very little food so I suppose the person making something for so many years what kind of know how to make it correctly even if they're forced to do it

  • @ThePeopleVerse

    If you value your jack then first you should clean all around the cylinder and plug area. You should not get any kind of crud into that oil.

    I found a fairly simple and elegant solution to this today. Look at the main body where the castors mount and you'll see notches. I took the castors off and put a zip tie around the bearing so that the only way to put the castor back on is to line the head of the zip tie up in the notch on the main body. This allows about 10-20 degrees of swivel. The zip tie is tight but I can take my hand and forcefully turn the castor to make it "steer" in a different direction if I want. Anywho, thanks for sharing this video so I would know what problem to fix. I hadn't figured out why it was stopping. Your video sent me down the right path.
