I noticed that your “traditional English breakfast” contained a hash brown. I can’t remember when hashbrowns started appearing in the “full English”, but it wasn’t that long ago. It is actually an American import. A traditional “traditional English“ would have fried bread.

I don't think that many Americans appreciate just how much the UK was on the Front Line during World War II. Just take a look at the figures for civilian war fatalities on home soil in the two countries and you will get the picture: USA Hawaii: 68 (Pearl Harbor Attack) Alaska (Aleutian Islands Campaign, 1942 - 1943): 10 The 48 Contiguous States: 6 (Balloon Bomb, Oregon) TOTAL: 84 UNITED KINGDOM 70,000+ (Largely due to German bombing raids, V1 and V2 attacks) (If you pro-rata that up to take into account the larger population of the USA it would equal nearly 250,000 American civilian casualties.) Now do you understand? 🙂

An interesting fact that many people may not realize is that regions in Asia, including Japan, receive significantly more rainfall than we do. The only distinction is that our experiences are distributed throughout 365 days, while theirs are condensed into three to four months. On average, England experiences rain on 165 days per year, with an average annual rainfall of 23 inches. In contrast, Japan receives significantly more rainfall, ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 mm (40 to 100 inches), and some regions even experience 4,000 to 10,000 mm (160 to 394 inches) over just 117 days. Indeed, if you conduct a quick search on which country receives the most rainfall annually, you'll discover that we rank 74th on that list. Therefore, it's puzzling why there's a common belief that it's always raining in England. While we do experience some rainfall, it's significantly less than many other parts of the world.

London has half the annual rainfall of New York and less than Paris, Madrid, Sydney etc. If London was a US state it would rank as the tenth driest !!It gets grey during the Winter months as we have very little snow due to the Gulf Stream effect which runs up the West side of the UK and that is why we have Palm Trees as far up as Scotland It's nice and Sunny and 76 F at the moment and due to get warmer this week. @@Trippingthroughadventures An interesting fact that many people may not realize is that regions in Asia, including Japan, receive significantly more rainfall than we do.

Oh I don't know, best museums in the country, best restaurants, (some of the) best historical sites, best entertainment and nightlife. I can't imagine why a tourist would want to visit London either. There's an awful lot of jealousy and nastiness towards London from parts of the rest of the country and those same people will then tell you with the barest-faced cheek that they're nicer people than Londoners!

@@Trippingthroughadventures (Please take this in the spirit it is intended-as a bit of fun). The last American who posted a video on CZcams showing tea being made in a microwave almost caused an international uproar; it was so contentious that the American embassy had to issue an official statement denouncing the act. Indeed, the video and the embassy's statement were featured on British national news headlines due to the incident. The video is available on CZcams, and I, along with numerous other British individuals, would appreciate your perspective on the situation.

If you haven't been...Westminster Abbey is a must. It's fascinating and where history has been made, you can truly feel the weight of time. It's also the only church where where the Sovereign is baptized, married, coronated and is a royal mausoleum. It's also a Royal Peculiar church, King Charles over seen the Abbey, not the Archbishop of Canterbury. And you're not dumb, London has been a major economic hub for 2000 years and a political capital for 1000 years.
