Jimmy Page really ripped this off. I have been listening to spirits since the 1970s I have never heard this song until today May 2024. I have always loved Spirit but I have never heard this. I Love led Zeppelin a whole lot I've heard about this controversy for years I decided tonight to look it up. My opinion Jimmy Page stole the riff. Still love spirits still Love led Zeppelin. Has a born-again Christian I know that we are all sinful and thieves and we all need Jesus. Yes I have read all of zeppelins lyrics I know what they're about I still love their music I'm a guitar player acid head.

Id never heard of this band until the law suit. Id be surprised if this didn't influence Jimmy but so what? All music is an influence from somewhere. This is good mind. It has a lovely medieval feel

There's one short guitar line that sounds slightly like STH. It's possible Page heard it and it transformed in his mind into the opening of STH, but STH has multiple parts to it. Any song you hear you could probably find some other song with an element to it that's very similar. There are a finite number of notes and finite permutations of them that are interesting to the human ear. It's impossible to do something 100% original. It would probably sound crap if you did. If you have a good idea it's very likely you're not the first person to have it. I don't think they had a leg to stand on.

That's classic music melt into modernity. Shorter than STH but... Maybe even more musicality in it ? More instrumental touch and exploration ? No voice, more mysterious ? Don't know... But probably I like this one a lot.
