    Hey up :) Very useful video :) Yeah, it was my problem too. Well... it still is, but not so big. I think the biggest barrier is - the fear for making mistakes. The best way is - just using the language. I'v never learned English (just Russian, German, Latin, a bit of Greek and Croatian), but from 10 years I live in the UK. The beginning wasn't easy but I've never give up. Everything I've done by myself (like opening a bank account, all of "official" things etc). I work with English people only and I had no choice - I had to use English every day. My language barrier crashed quite quick. I know I make mistakes and I got moments when I'm struggling - mostly because of grammar. But I think - the most important thing is to break this fear. And use the language all the time. Watching films, listening podcasts, music etc. And a good exercise is - when you go somewhere (to work, or for shopping, whatever) - talk to yourself (loudly or just in your head) and say what you see, what you passed, comment situations or things what you meet (for example: on this bus stop is a red bus, pedestrians waits for the green light, this blue dress in the shop window looks beautiful, or your shopping list, etc etc). If you don't know some word - write it down in your language and then check it later and use it to complete your story :) The more you will use the language - the faster you wll learn it :) It works for me, you can try this way :) And even guys at work told me my English is much much better than before. We can have conversations about anything (sometimes I have to check some words, or - if I don't know some word - I try to say that "around" - by describing something, it works well too and helps to break the fear, plus - you learn more words and you shows "the intelligence of conversation"). Have a nice day :) PS. Subscribed ;)

      @jessicamancini Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah, using the language whenever you can really makes you improve a lot. And especially when you HAVE to use the language. I'm really happy for you that you've learned and improved so much...and always remember, grammar isn't the most important thing!! And thanks for the sub, I really appreciate it!!😊

    Your English is spectacularly good, especially for someone who's never had conversations with any native English speakers. I only speak English so I'm not 100% certain if it's correct but I'm pretty sure English is "backwards" to other languages as well, so it must be really difficult for people to learn English as a second language.

      @jessicamancini Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you!! 😊 and it's true that English can also be really hard to learn. Since German is my native language, English wasn't extremely hard to learn for me since both of the languages are not entirely different from one another (e.g. the word order in sentences, the tenses etc) It always depends on your native language... However, actually becoming fluent in English was a whole different story for me😅

Your thumbnails and titles are also really high quality. If you are in the business for improvement, I would also advice you to consider setting up a more professional looking, or at least cleanly lit recording area, and also consider writing scripts for your videos. The latter giving you the added benefit of being able to display lots of relevant images/sources/clips to your talking points as you need them, instead of more or less just 'doing it live' Anyway take care, its nice to see a new channel making a name for itself. So at some point, I started to feel maybe I am not good enough. And fun fact no one ever proposed me in school or college and that made me believe that I am not beautiful. But just recently I started getting so much attention .....And when I asked my old boy friends from school why they never ask me out... They were like you are out of our league...And I was like WTF. I never realise that I always carried myself with so much confidence and high standards that they were afraid of being rejected. So all my LADIES out there... Carry yourself with confidence and class. Trust me, it is way more attractive than you think. MY LOVE TO ALL OF YOU.

    I think ultimately for as far as we have come on many issues, pretty privilege will always exist. Classifying it as "societal standards of beauty/conventionally attractive" is tip toeing around the harsh reality. Attractive people from all races benefit from being attractive. You either have it or you don't. Yes, people can have varying degrees of PREFERENCE, but beauty is a baseline. We are an animal like any other. Looks are part of the mating strategy for humans. Good looks=good genes. Beauty is captivating to us as it is biologically hardwired into us. Nothing is new under the sun. This doesn't mean treat people poorly that aren't attractive, care and acceptance are always important for everyone. Desirability and all it's perks, unfortunately is not.

    Confidence is useless, if a woman does not find you facially attractive. Confidence is the most overused catchphrase that dating coaches regurgitate to give you false hope. Women are highly aware that physical attractiveness is the niche that sparks their interest, but instead of being honest: they'll use the confidence/ self-improvement myth as a crutch to make you think otherwise. Dating Coaches online only care about marketing themselves, looking good for the cameras, regurgitating eachothers content, sponsoring bull$hit products, recycling the same bull$hit content, views ,and a subscription to their channel. And that's f*cking reality!

    • @mwil15
      @mwil15 Před rokem

      In reality, men are biologically visual creatures. Data suggests men care more about physical looks than women do in mate pairing. Women spend more time on their own appearances because of the sexual selection of men. Women statistically care more about height than looks, because biologically height is a good marker for fertility, longevity, and security. Confidence plays a very real role in mate selection and the human nature of relationships. People naturally will pick up on insecurities and shyness as a red flag. The crux here is… if you don’t think you’re attractive, why would anyone else?

      @@mwil15 Confidence is only attractive, if the man is already handsome. Just because a man is aware of his facial disadvantages, when comes to the dating market, it doesn't necessarily mean, he lacks confidence. He is highly aware that women prefer an handsome man with confidence, instead of an unattractive man with confidence. It sounds good when women say "confidence" is more important than looks, but women's actions says otherwise. Stating that men are biologically wired to value looks more than women, is your personal opinion, not fact. [Laughs], but a woman who wears make-up, fake nails; fake eye lashes, and other fake accessories, should be ignored as a sign of insecurities and a redflag, huh?

The crux of the issue here from my observation is your view on self-improvement. Self-improvement is only a crutch if a person uses it for the sake of getting attention or validation from others. It’s like trying to sweep the floor with a garden rake. But Self-improvement for yourself is the greatest way to get fulfillment in life and have confidence.

To be brief: 1) When a woman sees an attractive man with confidence: He will be viewed as charismatic. 2) When a woman sees an unattractive man with confidence: He will be viewed as arrogant. 3) Attractive man who is quiet, will be viewed as mysterious. 4) Unattractive man who is quiet = weird and antisocial. 5) Attractive man with no friends = lone wolf. 6) Unattractive man with no friends = a loner and pathetic loser. 7) Attractive man compliments a woman = smiles and flirtatious behaviour. 8) Unattractive man compliments a woman = sexual harrasment. 9) When an unattractive man points out the harsh realities, in the dating market: He will be labeled as being bitter and insecure, instead of being aware. 10) When people (like Maria) can't disprove the facts: They will resort to opinions, instead of facts. 11) It takes alot of confidence for an unattractive man to speak about the disadvantages of being ugly, while maintaining a sense of humour. 12) Wearing nice attire, having a certain hair style, a nicely trimmed beard, and having confidence does not make you attractive, if a woman thinks you are ugly. 13) Women who tell you that looks aren't that important when it comes to dating...is blowing smoke in your eyes. 14) Attractive women and men will always say that looks aren't that important, but they would never trade in their beauty to be ugly. [ cameras flashing, audience cheering and applauding] News Reporter: Mr: Sterling: How does it feel to be the undisputed Champion of Facts: Mr: Sterling: It feels amazing! I was able to recognize and block Maria's gaslighting tactics; therefore, I hit her gaslighting with a self improved, left jab, then uppercutted, her bullshit, with my right hand of confidence, that led to a knockout. News Reporter: Thank you, Mr Sterling for your comment. And congratulations on your victory. Mr. Sterling: [Smiles] Thank you. Ring Announcer: Thank you ladies and Gentlemen for turning into (GLB) Gaslight Boxing. And congratulations to you Mr. Sterling. The End

      @@Mr.Meme1885 I believe that depends on what other qualities you bring to the table. People will be less willing to forgive your shortcomings if you are unattractive, especially potential partners.

    Is it confidence that makes you more attractive, or being attractive that makes you more confident?

      It can go both ways and I have experienced both. As a young attractive girl/woman I had no confidence. Now as a grown, mature woman I am both very attractive and confident. My confidence doesn't come from my appearance though, it comes from having lived life, gone through things, grown, learned valuable lessons, learned to value and love myself etc.

    I've been studying loads of psychology of whatever weird people, even serial killers and other psychopaths. It can be tiring, and even scary, especially when I function completely differently, which means empathetic and compassionate. Sometimes I needed like six months gap for mental recovery to be able to study another case. Psycho-hygiene is extremely important for one's mental health. The biggest case that blew my mind was the study of Jodi Arias, who killed her boyfriend. It was scary how much she was similar to my narcissistic ex-gf in the face. Psychology can take you to whatever scary paths. I am trying to be very careful about what I am looking into and how often, but on the other hand, I've learned shit loads about human behaviour over a long period of time.
