I LOVE this airport, which I've been through many times with my partner. It's possibly one of the prettiest in the world, if one can call airports pretty! Samui is a terrific island, and some of my happiest times have been spent there, including a 6 week stay in 2005. In more recent times, we've brought our children and other family members to Samui, and as I am the fare payer for all of our party, I've found it too expensive to fly direct by Bangkok Airways, excellent though they are. Instead, we've gone via Nok Air, a perfectly good airline. This flies us to Nakhon Si Thammarat on a Boeing 737-800, then a 90 minute coach trip to the ferry port at Donsak. Finally, a 45 minute ferry ride to Nathon, in Samui. The whole trip, starting from Don Meuang Airport, takes about 5 hours, instead of a 40 minute direct flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport with Bangkok Airways. However, it's about one third of the cost of the direct flight, and the journey involves a lot of sightseeing and is fun, especially the beautiful ferry trip across part of the Gulf of Thailand.

Watching all the individual videos i feel i have traveled the world a few times and i havnt left my comfortable chair, flying first class nxt yr with Emirates from New Zealand to Greece, very excited, but the thought of being poor after it not a pleasent thought, being at the bottom of the earth its very costly to fly to Europe or the States any sugestions

One thing I have noticed with Jet Airways is that their male ground staff hardly ever acquiese to smile at their customers. Having flied with them since 1998, I do not remember a single instance of a male staff member showing any sort of courtesy that is proactive. This situation flips mid air however. The female attendants usually have blank expressions while the male stewards are a pleasure to deal with. In general.
