Why do officers care about tinted windows? Well, if you were a cop, would you rather walk up next to a car with windows you can see through, or windows you can't see through? You have no idea what's happening inside as you get closer. It could be just kids in the back seat...or a guy with a shotgun. Who knows.

people are way... too against the cop for checking tints. it literally takes 2 seconds to check and file, might as well check it if your checking their license plate. they aren't forced to pull it up but they asked because it was on the way. like a side quest, or picking a cool looking rock while your hiking. its on the way, no harm in checking it if they willingly do it. if they refused then oh well, you dont wanna make a big deal about it.
