How long do you run the system if you hook it to a timer?
About an hour in my area, but it depends on how dry and hot it is in your location. Try increments of 15 minutes to find the best fit and then use that as a rough time going forward.
Great video and solid information. I had a heck of a time trying to hook up my 1/2” hose until I came across your video. Thx.
Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful.
Hello Is it possible to re:dye a part? I have a fishing reel that supposed to be black but one side plate is brownish and i dont like it at all. Tnx /F
You would have to first strip off the anodizing layer with something like a chemical process (ex. lye) or mechanical (lathe or sandblasting) and then clean it thoroughly before re-anodizing.
Where is the cool jet action I see from some of these on youtube? I'd really like to know why some burn like a candle (this one), and others sound like a jet engine. Can anyone comment? Thanks.
I love these unboxing videos. They really tell me everything I need to know about the product, including the print quality on the box and the thickness of the styrofoam being used.
Different details matter to different folks so glad you found it useful.
is this tig welding?
Nope, mig welding.
this video is awesome! i do have a question: i understand that the aluminum wires being used as hanging rods for the part being anodized are one time use (and titanium wires are not). are the aluminum cathodes also one time use? is there an alternative, if so?
Thank you. No, the cathodes can be used multiple times as long as they are in good shape. I've seen people also use lead cathodes but I've never had any issues with aluminum.
These jigs are all produced by our factory here

Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
do you use strictly 2gph emitters for convenience
Sorta. I use them so that I know the plants all get about the same amount of water for a given time since they are mostly in the 7-10 gallon pot size range. For anything larger I will add an additional 1 GPH emitter to the mix.
I go through the curing process but don't smoke and certainly don't 'cook' the meat through. Once out of the cure I let it dry in the open in the fridge for 3-5 days then slice and fry up (or freeze for later).
Never tried that. Is it still pretty tender after frying?
@@ShinyInsanity It's like crispy bacon - your method leans me more into a charcuterie / salami logic - eg not needing further cooking after the hot smoking. Looks very good - just not what I am aiming for this time around.
@@KnackFarmer-theanswerismeat I've got a batch in the fridge curing right now. I might have to take off a few slices and try your method.
@@ShinyInsanity btw I don't use pink/curing salt at all. Again because the slab is always kept cold, then sliced and fried (or frozen).
Love it! I got a few laughs out of this video. I can't wait to try it. What temp did you pull her?
Thanks, I think you'll enjoy it. Anywhere from 160-170 Fahrenheit and you should be good. I pull mine towards the higher 160-165 end.
@@ShinyInsanity Ty 😊
Great work! You probably know that Busted Fishing also now do a winder and also the have a line guide tool also as well as a cool tool to remove old line that you attach to an electric drill. You can also use these tools to get the exact amount of backing you require when you're using a small amount of top shot braid.
Thanks! Yup, saw they came out with a winder a few years after I built this one. I like to think this helped inspire them - lol.
Ahhh, i just transplanted mine and mixed great white with water and sprayed roots, I was worried about putting too much powder on. Hopefully it still works as well
I think you'll notice a big improvement on the roots when you go to transplant. Good luck.
What can you do after curing if you don't have a smoker or a webber?
You can use your oven. Won't have the same smoke flavor but it should still be good.
@@ShinyInsanity thanks just trying to work out how long and what temp to cook it at
@@hufeisen65 You're looking for an internal temp of about 150 faranheit to ensure it's done but not falling apart.
@@ShinyInsanity thankyou 😊
Neat, thank you.
No problem!
You did not elaborate on the part that was red and blue, end to end. Also, can a part be dyed with one color over a second color? Say red over black or green over yellow. I am thinking of an effect where a second color occasionally appears in an otherwise uniform finish.
The red and blue part was just done by dying one side partially then flipping it around and dying the other side partially. You can dye over colors but they will blend. I do not think you will get the fade through effect you mentioned.

You use this for all of your plants?
I've used it for most everything I've grown, but I use it primarily for my potted trees (jujubes, figs, persimmons, etc.)
I bought one at Christmas and only used it once I had done the proper breaking in procedure etc. Anyway, I just went to use it again and it won't even turn on! The pressure is all drained out of it right now. It's plugged into a dedicated outlet. It's not on an extension cord. It has oil in it. When I flip the switch. Nothing. I looked all through the troubleshooting and didn't see anything about what to do. Somebody did mention that sometimes there are reset buttons? It's not listed on my manual. Have you ever had this happen and do you know where the reset button is?
Sorry to hear that. I've never had this happen on mine, but sounds like it could be something like a loose wiring connector. I don't think this model has a reset button that I am aware. If it's out of the warranty period you can always unplug it and pop off the cover to see if any of the wire connectors worked loose over the winter.
@@ShinyInsanity Good morning. Took off the cowling and it turned out the motor had caught fire and melted! It didn't even have 1 hour of use on it It wasn't under warranty anymore but they did take it back and replace it with another one which I had to buy the extended warranty in order to have the store do that Now I'm trying to figure out what could have caused the fire. I suspect it was a faulty batch of these compressors *** However, I wanted to ask how important it is for the compressor to be absolutely perfectly level when operating? I've noticed it seems to be slightly unlevel so in the oil window it looks like it's on the low side. However, when I wheel it all the way out to the cement pad and let it sit there a minute I can see the oil is correct level. In your opinion, does the compressor have to be extremely level in order to run safely? Just glancing at it, the compressor looks level until you look at the oil window.
@@TheButterflyGirl7 Glad you were able to get it replaced. That's odd that happened and hopefully that is not a common problem. As far as the oil level it should not need to be perfectly level. If you have a major variation in your floor it could in theory cause the low side to have some issues with circulation and thus lubrication but I don't think anyone's floors are that uneven. More than likely it was just a manufacturing defect versus anything you did. Let us know how the next break in goes.
What dye do you use?
Caswell dyes.

can this grinder handle chicken drumstick bones?
I've never tried mine with that but I have seen videos where others have used it to grind up chicken bones for raw dog food but I think they use the bigger models (i.e. #12 and up).
My back flow preventer is gushing water every time I turn my spigot on...what's wrong with my system? thanks.
Drip irrigation systems typically operate at a much lower pressure than standard hose bibbs. If the backflow preventer isn't designed for low-pressure systems, it might misinterpret the pressure change as backflow and release water when you turn it on. Try to turn on the spigot slowly.
Thanks for the video! Is the water flow continuous or do you have a timer somewhere?
It is not continuous and is only turned on 1-2 times a day (depending on how hot the season). The emitter heads are 1-3 gallons per hour so that would be overkill to leave them on all the time.
You need to invest in a better camera... the content itself is great!
Thanks. Not sure what camera I was using for this video. Gopro or phone.
Good effort although it would have burnt hotter and cleaner if you had only 1 row of 1/4 in holes at the top. The number of holes in the inner can base was overkill since was considerably more area than the outside air holes.
Good thing I didn't cut out the base like I had first planned then.
Keep it up practice makes perfect
Thanks, will do.
Which brand of die did you use? Maybe it’s superior to the one I have.
Just a regular Irwin die you can get at Home Depot.
I’m trying desperately to thread my 1/4” copper tubing without it bending and twisting in my hand. Massive fail! I used the M7 die and I can only get about 2 turns before my tube starts contorting. Even a vise doesn’t stop it. What am I doing wrong? Please make a video of you doing this part from start to finish.
Go slow at first and use some tapping oil or some other lubricant to help. The copper was pretty soft and didn't give me any issue once I got it started. Don't use a vise since it will definitely twist. If you're using a thinner gauge copper tube that may also contribute to twisting.
Only complaints a bit loud low cfm but for $135 open box im more than happy
Yeah the noise is the first thing that hits you when you turn it on, but as you said for the price I'll not complaining either.
My same model locked up after maybe 16 hours of run time. I followed the break in and changed the oil afterwards. The oil was full when it locked up at maybe 80psi. It was a full stop with a hum. I unplugged it and drained the tank to no avail. It still only hums at the motor when I try to turn it on.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you were able to get a replacement or refund. Mine is still working, but still loud.
Are you still using masterblend
Yes, it's still my go-to fertilizer.
Excellent Content, with Perfect Delivery💯Especially for my ADHD 🧠🤓 📍I machine Aluminum 1:25 scale auto model parts on a Mill & Lathe. My question is this; “How can you regulate the amount of color you want with a part?” Ex: Motor parts that I’m using a Butter/Yellow Anodize Dye, but I only want a very light tint of the color.. 👉Can you tell me what to tweak to do this please… Thank-U -Sir..... Respectfully, Lee aka: ZenModeling☯️
Thanks for watching. To get consistent part coloring I would use weigh out the same amount of pigment for a new batch each time after finding the right shade of tint I want and dip the parts for the same time. It will take some experimenting at first to find the amount of dye and time to get the color you want.

Drilling the 1.5 mm hole in the coil works much better, and is more accurately centred, if it is done when the pipe is bent to 180 degrees. The drill will fit and the pipe will allign itself on the forming pipe to keep the hole pointing up when the coil is completed, so long as the hole is taped closed to stop the salt falling out.
Not sure I follow the process you mentioned. Are there any videos with examples of how this is done?
@@ShinyInsanity No videos but maybe I can better explain. The way you formed the coil was to bend the pipe into the complete coil before drilling the hole. The completed coil made aligning the drill bit almost impossible as 1.5 mm drill bits are too short. If you drill the hole when the pipe is formed into a 'U' , you can get a 1.5 mm drill exactly where it needs to be. Put a bit of tape over the hole to stop the salt from escaping. Drop the 'U' shaped pipe over the pipe that you are forming the coil around. Complete the bend and the drill hole will be correctly centred on the finished coil. Continue to form the coil to complete the bending. When the salt is removed and the burner set into the mason jar and lit, the flame will go between the two pipes above it, not pointing to the side. That is what happened when I used your method.
Thanks for the additional details, I see what you're saying now. Good tips for making another one in the future.
Nice spool gun you got there. I've never used one, but I am looking forward to try. Since, I already have the welder, I want to go for it. Thank you for sharing. Oh, you got some nice welds there. Take care my friend.👍👍
Thank you. If you have some aluminum welding to do it's worth the investment unless you want to go the Tig route, but that's a whole other learning curve. Good luck on your projects.
I'm quite surprised with the progress from first to last weld. Nice job! I just got one and wanted to do some research on the set up.
Thanks! It's a different process than welding steel in that it requires a faster travel speed. Hope you enjoy the new toy.
Maybe I missed it? But you made an alcohol burner and didn't say what type of alcohol that you are using?...From the looks of your flame I'm guessing Isoprypol alcohol. If you want a bluer flame burn Denatured Alcohol in it (Heet yellow bottle) and you'll have better flame results.
Yup, standard grocery store isopropyl alcohol. I can't remember if it was the 70 or 90% ratio but wanted to test it with more readily available fuel versus using the good stuff (i.e. full strength denatured).
I like hpw you think! Don't use your old underwear, Lol!! I actually had a friend one time offer me coffee when I stopped by his place to visit. He went to make it and discovered that he was out of coffee fiters so he used his underwear and told me before he served it up. Nah, I said. Why they're clean I washed them? And he was serious. He drank it. I didn't. (Don't use your underwear!! Lol!)
Hopefully you don't eat anything homemade that friend makes - lol
I just made one. I was out of 1/4" soft copper so I used 2/4" aluminum Pilot Tubing and didn't need the sale or sand to not kink it because it is softer than the copper pipe. Plus Cheaper!
I was thinking aluminum tube initially, but could not find any readily. Good to know it will also work for the version.
Why didn’t you use the fine grinder plate on the second grind, instead of the same plate if you was wanting burgers? 🤷
I find a double grind helps to distribute the fat better throughout the meat since brisket has some areas of mostly fat.
Beautiful
Thank you!
what size is your main line and what fitting did you use to connect to water faucet? Thanks, I bought the rainbird expansion kit and it only has 1/4" tubing with it.
The main line is 1/2 inch. You'll need a 3/4 inch female hose thread connector either the 1/2 inch line or the 1/4 tubing directly. The kit I showed came with 1/2 inch line and you branch off from there with the 1/4 tubing.
thanks for the info, very helpful
Meat grinders should never run dry. You will dull your plates and blades very quickly. Thats metal on metal with no fat and meat to give it a lubrication barrier.
Thanks for the reminder. I have a bad habit of running it without adding meat first.
I am a beginner in welding and I clicked on this video because I saw the HOBART welder. I have the exact same machine. After watching, I think I am going to build my own cart. Good video, thanks!
It's a great welder. I have no regrets with buying Hobart so I think you will enjoy using it to build your cart. Thanks and good luck on your build.
Like the fact your videos do not have guys shouting over heavy metal rock music... I think I am going to build 2 - one for TIG & Cooler and one for MIG & Plasma. The TIG is pretty big so different dimensions. You helped me refine my design - much appreciated.
Lol - I'll keep from adding heavy metal music to my videos in the future based on your comment. Glad my design helped you out. Good luck on your builds.
@@ShinyInsanity I am a bit lazy and don't like faffing around so I am planning to install a 'Y' adaptor on the MiG gas port and connect both the Argon and welding gas to make the switch easy for Brazing / Aluminum & steel gas shield. Did you do something similar?
I'm confused. You used a 1/4 inch diameter length of copper tube and placed the holes in the lid with a 1/4 inch bit. Why use a metric tap and die set to cut the threads? I'm not tool savvy so don't roll your eyes, but why can't you use an SAE tap and die set?
You want the gap between the pipe and the lid to be as small as possible to avoid leaks so using a bit that is as close as possible to the pipe diameter is ideal. You would have to wiggle the drill a little to get the hole barely larger than the 1/4 size to get them to fit. The inside diameter of the pipe was closest in size to a metric tap size I had and fit better than any SAE tap would. Hope this helps.
@@ShinyInsanity It did help, thanks
