So much fun…. Thanks for the adventure… I very much enjoyed it…
What a great summer you are having! So much fun discovering all those places.
yes:) and thanks again for your kind and thoughtful words on my other video :)

What don't you like about Nancy? Just curious, not criticizing. We are thinking of retiring there.
hello! i've actually recently come to love nancy:) it's a nice size-- not too big nor small. There are things to do and different events throughout the year..good cafes / restaurants. it's well located for travel. like most european cities, very walkable. i think what i didn't like was when i was in town just for work, i didn't get to experience the city in the evening and discover the food and different events - but with time, i've been able to and really enjoy it :) thanks for watching and let me know if you have other questions :)
Coucou Lyndi, it's really beautiful !! Thank you for sharing these pretty things with us. Bises.
I enjoyed your video. Believing my Great Grandfather was born in Epinal at the time, my wife, her brother, and his wife visited Epinal and the surrounding area in 2001. In Epinal, we had coffee and refreshments at the 'Le Pub' cafe on the Place des Vosges plaza. We then visited the War monument along the Moselle River at roughly the intersection of Quai Jules Ferry and D42. ... I wish I had been able to have seen your video tour of Epinal, and perhaps we would have stayed more than a day.
You are Christian but also I’am Muslim and my grandfather born in èpinal this city is multi-religion like melilla
I have friends in Indiana that are always begging us to come this video may have sold me.
That is an amazing place thank you for letting us discover it through your video.
Bye bye. Les Vosgespat 🌲
You can get your licence taking your lessons on an automatic nowadays, but it will be mentionned on your license and rental companies won't allow you to rent manuals. if you passed it on a manual you are authorized to drive both. For the no license cars you still have to pass the code, it's the same process as for driving a scooter or moped, and you can do so from the age of 14. Also 4:20 yes being on your phone is illegal but so is eating, drinking, smoking, putting on makeup, anything that distracts you from the road and requires you to take your hands off the wheel is illegal in France.
I've been cologne and ruddiestein and kolblenz and waramudy and munich and nuremberg and wurzburg check out krakow sometime that's in Poland
Awesome tour/video!!! Thx for sharing this video with all of us!!!😉💜
Ur so lucky to have seen this in person!!! (Maybe someday I'll get there) But ty for making this video for us!!!💜
I'm sure about it... No complains about France... 😂😂😂😂
The alsacian language varries a lot from the north to the south of the region. The word "wahia" means a pie in the south of Alsace where I live, whereas it means a car in the north of the region, where they see us from the south as "strange car-eaters" !
Until the 2000s, people used to talk with each other in a train for example, but since we got smartphones, everyone scrolls all the ride long, ignoring his/her neighbours...
God! That would get on my nerves! Strangers, presumptions, that you want to talk 'drivel' with them. Assumed friendliness, is irritating & rude. But that's the infantile American for you.
:-)
The flags thing always interested me - across Europe, flags are just not as much of "a thing" and when i go to the US, i find the flags everywhere a bit creepy. It's almost like a national insecurity about identity
Creeped out by a flag...lol, oh, they're SO SCARY!
@@swisschalet1658 if it was A flag, that would be fine but they're everywhere. What are they trying to prove? It's like those narcissists who try to fool people by bombarding them with emotion.
@@stewartellinson8846 In the Us, we own land and property, because we are free. We do not live stacked in apartment complexes like lab rats...at least the vast majority don't. The American flag is a symbol of freedom. Yeah, I know, freedom freaks out people, especially slaves...who can't imagine life without the big nanny government. We put up OUR OWN flags, that we personally own, on our homes, our personal businesses, our farms, etc...that's why they are "everywhere". It is a symbol that WE govern the government, not the other way around.
@@swisschalet1658 it's nice that you believe that
@@stewartellinson8846 It's not about believing it...I'm living it.
The syndrome is called "insupportable" (said in French). You call that a pastry? Why isn't there a boulangerie every 100m?....
It’s an English person, I don’t go into my local shops without saying hello , and I certainly have never gone into a French shop without saying bonjour
That biggie size me in the states is why there is such an obesiy problem. Yes, many Europeans especially the french are reserved. Ive found Scotland, Ireland and Italy love to chat. I've always said it would be amazing if the #1 rule when campaigning is that you can not verbally attack your opponent. That you have to stick to the facts of what "you will do" to improve things once you are in office. It seems those who have no debating skills or real solutions resort to diverting the attention on others.
I lived in France for 14 years and now in Portugal 🇵🇹! I just got back from a trip to California and I had sticker shock...SO expensive! Sales tax continually got me and I prefer it being included in the price like in Europe! I was disappointed with eating out...Food VERY salty and I like salt! Also, the food quality was low in general I thought. And, the homelessness...So sad and heartbreaking!! To conclude, I had a great visit, but never want to go back permanently!!
Well, spent about 1 year in the US, it was 25 years ago, and alway got them as relatives today, i still found americans WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more friendly than others countries i did visit exepted Italy maybe, i found the showing flag etc.. very healthy and sometimes funny, US is the culture of the show, we don't have this in France, i got small talks about everything in my French day also my US buddies thinks i'm more american than french in lot of ways hahaha, and something i felt very strange is that my yanks pals almost everytime have strange feelings towards the brits, they speak the same language though. about hate, ohhhh the french are more hatefull than americans, we hide it more , in France Politics is like religion, anyway have fun back at home, greatings
Based on the comments on this video, the French are full of hate for Americans. And they seem very uptight...following right in line with the traditional stereotype of the French. I guess what they say is true...a thread of truth runs through every stereotype.
Not saying 'hello' to someone serving or helping you is really bad manners. You're treating the person as the job rather than a person who is doing a job!
Hey you have to try this next time you go to a Patisserie: ask for a Chocolatine ;) you will see their reply. Spoiler: in south west part of France the Pain au Chocolat is named Chocolatine because locals say that it isn't a bread (pain). Which is a fair statement. But outside this region Patissiers refuse to call it that way and it get very emotional 😂
oh this i know ;) c le grand debat en france hein !
@ haha you know? So I think we can say you are definitively French now :)
Totally agree about personality attached to the language: I live in a country at the border of France since > 10years, and I have little opportunities to speak French, as I work and live mainly talking English, Spanish and somehow German. To each language my personality changes: I think that the way a language is built illustrates the logical minds of the people using it, this having an impact on their psychology too. So it is very true what you say.
Very surprised you had the curiosity to visit Verdun. I mean, I thought this would drive mainly French or German visitors. And it's not a "nice" place from a touristic point of view, as it is charged with a lot of historic and emotional factor. Glad you show this to an American audience.
Yes we do say hello when we enter a shop or any building in France. Or even when you come across somebody in the street, even if you don’t know the person (AND if you’re not in Paris or any crowded street). But the waiters or staff are usually doing the bare minimum when in the US they might be « excessively » polite, like asking you 10 times if everything’s ok, etc… But it’s because they rely on tips. In France, we don’t tip. People have a guaranteed wage and service is included in the bill. And we also have a sales tax, but it’s included in the price you see. In the US this tax can be different from state to state, that’s why you only see the price before tax, as the final price can vary depending on which state you’re in.
