I have a reality tv show obsession also…The Kardashians! I binge watched EVERY episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and then just got swept up in the drama of the “like literally like omg like totally awesome” family of my dreams! I wish I had a tight family that they have. Keep the drama for the show though lol I use my monthly for “a word a day” I pick a word at random from this dictionary app I have then try to use that word throughout the day 🤷🏼‍♀️ just to try to expand my vocabulary a bit.

I kinda wish I’d gotten a dated but oh well now I can not feel guilty when I miss a week or so😂 Lost my baby brother a week ago to an overdose. He was on life support for 4 days before I had to make the decision to let him go. RIP Danny boy. So I’m on the hunt for ideas to make him a special spread this week😢 might sound odd to some but to me it’s important

I have use the monthly in a creative journal as a gigantic tracker of various things. I know that sounds more functional but it was all about me, so I count it? Overall feeling for the day, if I had a migraine, did I read that day, I even had days I didn’t have anything I felt like tracking that day and stuck a sticker there and then wondered later if I was just avoiding the entire thing for some unknown reason. I thought it was very interesting and low effort, which sometimes I need in a creative journal because I will avoid writing about some stuff just because when I dwell on it by writing about it it makes me more sad or mad or whatever. And maybe gives it more power over me, if that makes sense? 🤔 I acknowledge it in a small way and move on. If that makes sense. 🤔

I’ve used the monthly in my creative journal for a memory from the day (sometimes I write it; sometimes it’s a picture) and on the days I didn’t have anything, I’ve used a decorative sticker I liked or a quote sticker.

I loved the decorational aspect of happy planner stickers, but I am a functional girly before I am a decorational girly. Planner Kate has always been great for the functional and helped me transition from happy planner to EC and then once I did that, I felt more on top of the things that were GOING to happen instead of just documenting what already happened, which is what I felt like happy planner was for me, a memory keeper. I now use a few different planners but my main planner is a Stalogy and while it’s tedious sometimes having to create it every week, every week it is exactly what I want and need it to be so the pay off for me is huge 😊. Also, I don’t care what you use to plan in, if you keep making content, I’m going to keep watching. 🎉

I'm in NM with 102 heat. This summer I'm recovering from foot surgery.

I turned an A6 stalogy book into an on the go planner. One page has the lists of what I need and errands I need to run, and on the other side is the days laid out and that’s where I hand out errands to the days they apply to. I also drew out all the months for the rest of the year because it is my on the go future planner, the one I take out for appointments and such. I put her in a cute cover and stuck a pen loop on it and it’s all I need. I tried using traditional planners and I find that for my very minimal out of the house exposure, too much of it was going unused and I disliked that. This way, I have my monthly calendar down and blank paper to use as I see fit for the month. Hope that made sense.

So, kits on a budget… 2 options….. 1, get a Cricut or Silhouette and purchase printable sticker kits. Yes, there is a big upfront cost,but there is so many things you can make with a cutting system. 2, purchase the printable kits, print on sticker paper, and hand cut the printable sticker kits… Printable are like 3-4 bucks.

I am all about learning ways to do budget friendly kits! I get Planner Kate’s Monthly, just the one Sticker sheet that does the top and changes the number colors. And the Wacky Holidays cause I think they are funny. I sometimes purchase from her Misfit Mondays and her Warehouse Wednesdays. Just because I like the challenge of taking different stuff and finding ways to make it work. But that is maybe once a month for each, depending on what she is offering for those Wednesdays. So yes, a journey to figure out ways to make it more affordable would be great! 💕

I would love to see ways to do budget friendly planning with kits! For the tattoo, that’s a bummer! I’m glad they have an idea on how to fix it. I was originally going to say you could use your English teaching roots and use editing tools like what is used to edit papers on your tattoo 😂

You really shouldn’t feel bad.😊 Although you show your planner and planning activities with the world, planning is very personal and it should work for you. I think we all watch for inspiration and ideas. You can still do that with EC. Sometimes you have to change things up a bit to remind you why you liked doing something in the first place. I also agree with you that the sticker kits are a game changer but for me I can’t afford to buy small shop sticker books and sticker kits so I stick with the small boutique shops (LLP, KOAP, etc…). Happy planner stickers are hard for me to design cute spreads in my planner so I no longer buy those.So…in other words change up and do what works best for you.😊

So I see your vids all the time, but now that you have begun the EC journey, I have subscribed. I started with HP in 2017. Fell in love. It def helped keep me organized as I went back to school. About the same time Stephanie sold HP, EC came out with a Hello Kitty line. I didn’t want to “cheat” on HP but I could never say no to HK. Now HP has become all floral and Disney. 🤮 They have almost made their mini planners extinct. (I never see a horizontal mini anymore). So I am more than happy to give EC my hard earned 💰. Watch for the sales Caitlyn. Every March, every July/August, but the last year I have noticed that the best sale for EC is Black Friday. I LOVE the A5 horizontal. Now, this week EC released a HK Healing line. Are you kidding me? HK dressed as a nurse with a little bear and band aids? My eyes had a huge orgasm. (Yes I am a nurse). Unfortunately the design only comes in 7x9 or 8x11. No A5 and I am 😡 😤! But I will prob have to take a hard swallow and order the 7x9 LifePlanner in Horizontal. I will wait for a sale though. So Welcome to the EC family girl! 🎉🥳 I am so exited to take this journey with you and see how you organize your new planners. 😊

I’ve used HP for years and have followed you for quiet sometime. I moved to EC back at the end of Jan and love it (I did try EC back in 2015 but it wasn’t what I needed at the time). I love EC’s paper quality, the a5 size, and that it’s not easily available bc otherwise I just buy planners bc they’re on sale or clearance with HP. EC A5 compact vertical has been a game changer for me. I also did buy a DD for work (I’m a teacher and I’m hoping it will be just what I need for to dos etc). I also found Hemlock and Oak daily is perfect for me for journaling. I will go with the undated next year bc it’s gotten really chunky and I love the monthly overview/review and goals pages. Plus they also have free downloads for all of all their layouts. Makselife has free downloads and I’ve started using their goal system. BTW regardless of what brand you use I’m sure people will still follow.

Girl, I feel you on this video. I’m not sure if HP will still be around for me next yr. I think so but idk for sure at this point in time still. I’m loving my EC as well. I tried EC on and off but I’m in it now. I have a classic size EC and my big HP. Idk why I’m feeling the coil at this time. HP has been with me since 2017. Discs are awesome and that’s why I love HP but I’m loving the plaid cover on my EC so I go in it lol. I will play around for a bit and see what happens after a couple of months. I’m not going anywhere so whatever planner you use is what’s best for you at this time.

I love the kits and the whole idea of using kits but man they’re pricey, especially if you want to use a different kit each week, which obviously you do lol I just know I can’t afford by any means to spend $10-20 a week on a sticker kit for my weekly spread. Not when I can get a whole sticker book for a few bucks on the HP site idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m not ragging. Not at all. Anyone who can buy the kits I love to watch them being used. Just stinks bc they are pricey.
