But the world buys Miley Cyrus an Talylor Swift. So many great artists such as this and Birdy and many others. That fact goes to show how little minds rule the world.
beautiful and smokey! I really like her image here, so much more interesting, surreal and mysterious as opposed to her new clean sharp hair cut into a bob image.
i consider bruce springsteen's i'm on fire a real song on the verge of passion, the game of wanting someone in its very beginning. also burning, dead sexy in a way. i really like bat for lashes too but her version didn't make me think all the above. it was a great performance, kind of romanticly weak in comparison with the vibe i get from the original. just felt mooding and more depressing. anyway it passes tho. the version that should disappear from planet earth is actually electrelane's. lame
@Dorotheabrooks93 The Bruce Springsteen version is about being full of love and lust and a real desire to do something, but not necessarily having someone to full this burning desire with.
If Bat wanted to compare or be compared to Bruce she wouldn't have done the song at half timing. Its an amasing rendition and this sounds just like the album version. That's called talent! Stfu haters!
@wez2468 not sure what you call this genre - borders on classical though that's for sure - very different from bruce's country-ish rock and roll style. I understand why you think the song got raped though - it did - i just happen to like it. maybe her music will grow on you. i've hated music before that i now like
@SydneySilly101 did you listen to the studio version of this song? it is eerie, spooky, haunting. they convey that pretty well in this version as well. As for the lyrics... whatever it's a cover, it's all about their (different) interpretation of it. and the appeal of the music has a lot to do with the interesting instrumentation - it's very unique. It's not all about her
I like her voice alot,and all,but good god does she ever do any fast song's? What's a girl to do is about medium speed,if not then she reminds me alot of Mazy star.And if she does have a few fast songs please let me know what they are.
I love the Eastern influence in the song. It's quite magical. Bruce's original left me feeling, dry... Suppose it's just preference. I took 20 seconds listening to Tori's due to the comments regarding her version. She's a great artist, but it left me cringing >.<
fantastic! i was just posting my own version and up popped this one..i love the tempo and the delivery and i wouldn't be a bit suprised if bruce didn't love it too. bets wishes to you, pardon the critics, easy to judge when all you do is sit on your ass and pick at those who have the guts to try.
@ahstarkweather, bruce springsteen did the original which no cover can measure up to. this is a great cover, but the original i think is one of the greatest songs created
Cute coverage but the original by Bruce is still the best....but it's great when great singers compliment the trail blazers by covering their music. : >
I don't think Natasha has been influenced by Tori much if at all, at least I don't see it and I don't think she's ever mentioned her? Natashas music makes me think of the 80's.. movies like Labyrinth, Legend, Willow.. and music like Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, and The Cure! I like this version better than Toris, but not quite as much as the original.
Tasha is a very imaginative, creative person with more talent than I've seen in years. I adore those who create art, I'm not ignorant and critique it. At least they try and sometimes succeed, where others don't even try and, therefor, NEVER succeed. Kudos to you, Tasha. I love your work.
this song is about a guy who is in love with a girl but it has been forbidden by her father ( in bruce springsteins orignal version) they have simply changed it around
<3 <3 <3

dprague miley made gud music dude
Beautiful
Bruce looks great for 63.
beautiful and smokey! I really like her image here, so much more interesting, surreal and mysterious as opposed to her new clean sharp hair cut into a bob image.
stunning
I'm not sure if I should be flattered or insulted. Maybe both. Regardless, thank you.
Your music discourse sounds like Patrick Bateman.
This is very haunting. Very different, but I like both versions.
Love Bat For Lashes, but some classics shouldn't be touched - this is one of them for me.

@jimbotro its just me though,dont get me wrong i love her voice but the song is wierd for me

@jimbotro i suppose its jus different taste in music.in my opinion no one can touch bruce springsteen[period]
@wez2468 i respectfully disagree
@cloudvol7 she's a ballad singer :) it's her bag
@BoerInc this is good music - grow another ear out of your forhead

I wonder who the mad fuck was that uploaded this disgrace...

this is a good cover admittedly. but there is just something about bruce's voice,especially live. maybe it's a male to female thing
Fuckin horrible They have taken a brilliant song and smeared shit al over it
I think her imagining of Springsteen's song carries so much more emotion than his version, but I imagine this comment will prove not very popular.

Terrible
Like. Weird.
Eh, it's alright, I suppose....
@KUPHSER Agreed. Springsteen was closer to the song, as I would expect the original songwriter and performer to be. This an excellent interpretation.
@BrendanM4458 haha well said
@ahstarkweather, bruce springsteen did the original which no cover can measure up to. this is a great cover, but the original i think is one of the greatest songs created
@hhfarwellii she is half pakistani half british.
@dmerkozi actually she did have a tour to support 'two suns' in 2009. but mainly the major cities.
This is what covers should be. It is fantastically interpreted and loses none of the original's basic energy. Good work.
Cute coverage but the original by Bruce is still the best....but it's great when great singers compliment the trail blazers by covering their music. : >
i loveee how she sings this song.
It's ok, bit dour ! Lacks the erotic fervour of the original !
she's no lady gaga :P
that's what I call music :)

Amazing version. Very well done. The historical roots of music live on in many, new forms and interpretations.

@blair1888 Actually it is about a guy who is in love with a married woman trying to decide if he should pursue her.
First I missed the power of the original version. But after listening to some other tracks of Bat for Lashes, I have lerned to love this version too.
this song is about a guy who is in love with a girl but it has been forbidden by her father ( in bruce springsteins orignal version) they have simply changed it around
You are awesome.
