I'm scots, the song I s so tribal .bagpipes would not go amiss . Brilliant . I play it on every juke box and people are so amazed to hear it !!!
This was a beautiful night. Amazing humans everywhere. ❤️
A great American storyteller
My younger brother introduced me to Steve Earle many years ago. Thanks Steve (my brother)
As a Canadian from Ontario, he was famous in our Province, hence in Canada! Amazing ...
My god he looks so much like Michael Hedges
SO GLAD BLESSED I SEEN THIS FINE GENT LIVE ❤❤❤❤
Saw him live in Derry, in 2014, no band, just himself, great performance, truly nice guy
Was at that concert myself. Saw him a few years previous to that in Belfast where he had the full band with him, that was some night. Then for the 3rd time saw him in Jackson’s hotel in ballybofey. Walked in by mistake when he was doing a sound check but was invited to stay in. His roadie told me to wish Steve a happy birthday which I did, he gave me a massive hug before signing my concert ticket. He’s some talent.
Do ya know who this song was originally written for Elvis Presley!!! He passed 😢 before it was ever recorded!!!! Steve Earle claims he never made a dime from this song!!! & originally who plays a mandolin!!!!
My vote for the best one hit wonder song in Rock'n Roll history!
Hilarious!!!
here is something you probably did not know, Steve Earle has been supported by The Oak Ridge boys for many years. they helped him get his start
Need a studio version
If there is a god (and harlequin ichthyosis tells me there is and they/them has a sense of humor), this song will die with Del Lindenberg.
You gotta live it to feel it. Bob Lazar knows. Jim knows. Tom knows.
Inside the circle does not mean what it use too!
This is my favourite Steve Earle song. I've been listening to it regularly for years, never get tired of hearing it. Classic Steve Earle 👌
To see the good Christian folk of the Grand Ole Opry sit still and listen to Steve Earl’s Copperhead Road was something I didn’t expect to be on my bucket list, but damn it is. Next I’d love to see Old Crow Medicine Show do Tell It To Me in the same venue.
Beautiful
shitty recording from nose bleed view
What a song!
I took it off my bucket list...find it...go there...play the song while you're on the road...
I got to see him open for Bob Dylan on the copperhead road tour in Minneapolis back in the day it was awesome!!!!
great song, terrible video
Would like to shake his hand. He is the real deal.
This is great! Such a good sound at the Opry! Thanks for posting! 💕 I’ve probably watched Steve’s original video of this song 100 times.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@fishnbrewddd 💕💕💕
Love it
I'm a 79 year old woman, and I play this song on CZcams at least once a week. Great song.
And I hope you drive down copper head road with your own brew, go for it girl. 👍🥃
Keep on rocking girl
Glad you enjoyed this. I was happy I had the opportunity to see him, especially at the Grand Ole Opry
We never had and have to see something so beautiful.. Love from India
I'm 42 and me too honey!! Rock on!!!🤘
Good memories....
Best badass song ever written about America's underground economy.
he's a liberal clown.............
What a great story!
Love the drums, now this is REAL music...not that pop crap disguised as country!
Came back with a brand new plan
I remember when Guitar Town came out - loved that album to death. Wore out a few cassette copies. Got the chance to see Steve play Diamond Club in Toronto March 5/87 (still gots the ticket stub) - awesome show! Thanks for postin' this Opry appearance!
You are welcome. Thank you!
One hell of a classic song no better place to play it
Lost all respect for him when he came out with John Walker Blues. This is the song that was feeling so sad and respected the fact that Walker is a traitor to the United States as he went over to the Taliban.
Actually that isn't even close to what the song is about.
As a rule I'm not really into Country/bluegrass music though there some I do like, this is one I absolutely love.
Horrible footage
This song inspired me to pull an old Ford truck out of the weeds and build it after i got out of the Army.... still have it and the memories...... Steve in a legend
Retired Army myself, good story and agree Steve is a legend.
Thanks your service to bad I can't say that for the Joe Biden loving gun banning Steve Earle
I hate to be a downer, but this performance sucks!
Band is tight
Unbelievable!! What a wonderful musician Steve is!!
I knew Steves father. Good guy. When Steve first started out his father asked me if I wanted to invest in him. I declined. I am not a fan.
Jack was awesome
This was my buddy Jeff's favorite tune..hes gone 20 yrs now and would have loved to hear this !!
I’m sorry for your loss……it is a very good tune…..
