I still hear them every morning and now I appreciate them more than ever! Yesterday I was by my gf’s pool and 2 mourning doves were mating and making this sound it was beautiful. I try and replicate when they around so I can keep hearing this beautiful sound!!!!

Listening to the mourning dove, makes me have a vision.. A vision, that I live in a cabin in the woods, in the beautiful wilderness. Being able to hear diffrent birds, see diffrent animals, live a better, more peaceful, life. Being free! Being comfy, cozy, be one with nature.. Be happy. I would be kinda like Hilda! Exept i dont live in a world with mmystical creatures like trolls, elf's, deer-foxes, whoffs and stuff.. Though, that would be very cool, and interesting!

I don’t have a memory of hearing this bird after kindergarten. Nostalgia hitting different, I wish I could hear a real coo from this dove one more time.

Am I the only one who still hears them in mornings when I go to school?

I have 2 fledglings today. Wasn’t sure what to do with them but a cat owning neighbour phoned SSPCA before going to work so I was left with them. Their parents/extended family returned to feed them, but later, near dusk, they stopped. I brought them indoors for safety. I hope I can reunite them with their kin, or I might have to raise them. Fingers crossed this video will make them feel more comfortable.

These birds made me smile when I was little and I heard them ❤

Reading some of the comments, don't know the reason why some people suddenly stopped hearing them. But here in the Middle East in Kuwait where I live, I go to the cemetery every weekend on a early Friday morning to visit my brother, relatives and friends, and I hear these birds everytime. Can't explain the feeling in a single word but when sitting down near a loved one's grave whether reading the Quran or talking to them or just sitting in silence and hearing this sound makes me feel so sad yet calm, safe, happy and very isolated from this world, as if someone is reassuring me that everything is going to be fine eventually. Thank you, and stay safe everyone. ❤️

Didnt they go extinct or endangered for awhile? So nostalgic, i remember i would play in my aunts backyard and she had this porch swing, i would swing on it while listening to these birdies.

There are two mourning doves sitting on my fan outside rn-

theres 2 of then that always are together and come to my yard. I want to give them treats and hopefully befriend them

I moved to another state which has a lot of traffic in the mornings, being able to hear this again makes me want to tear up, thank you 🙏🏽

I rescued a mourning dove yesterday from the claws of a hawk. I know it is the cycle of life but I love these birds and I couldn't just watch it happen. I nursed it back to health and today she flew away. Hope she is doing well flying up in the sky.

I love those birds. I remember hearing them in the mornings when I was a kid. Good old simpler days 😊

i recall a time when i would sleep over at my grandma's house during the summer before she passed away three years ago. the night felt warm and welcoming, and the morning brought comfort in the form of soft morning rain and bird calls. the mourning dove would sing her song as though she stood before a small crowd of children eagerly listening for her music. i remember the grass being greener back then, the sky bluer... the flowers smelled sweeter and the plants flourished around me. moss grew and patterned rocks and tree trunks, and yet without the coo of the mourning dove, would it have felt the same? i vaguely remember enjoying icypops outside on the driveway with her, and sometimes my mom would join us, and in the warm of the summer sun, wed listen to sweet birdsongs quietly
