So,we towed the Fargo to Drumheller. Stopped for gas, nice fellow walks up and says i like your truck, you gonna fix it up? I laughed and said it is fixed up😂 Im dead set on not even washing the Studebaker. Moss and all will stay as is,will slowly use my home made shine juice. If it works like i think it will, i will share it with the world.

Maybe a couple cables and a way to hang heavy poly curtains to aid with containing the dust. I have been using a Dewalt cordless orbital, has a dust collector, which collects some dust,reduces some mess. Also, a mini belt sander will help with some tight spots. And i use my durablocks a lot. Back end of box reminds me of a 71 chevelle, love how its coming together.

Havn't been following the build sorry i know it has been mentioned... What bed is that? looks like a wrecker bed or did you scratch build it? Love that you put the proper fenders on it for that year truck. Looks amazing keep up the hard work. Body work takes a toll on the body no joke, I had Tennis elbow for months after my cab over build. I thought i was never going to be the same after that but all is well.

Hey sir, just wet sand that with 400 grit like washing a car. your primer looks good that 320 grit might work but I use 4 or 600 grit makes it smooth and it might change the outlook on you hating to do body work. I know your grandson will be more than happy to help. (Ha ha) keep a terry cloth handy to rub the sanded areas and listen for the smooth and ruff sound it lets you know what need sanding. I hope that helps. coming alone great oh you can take you time for us, because we're not in a hurry for you to finish. Too much to learn.

Brent, Look into linear sanding blocks for those times when sanding curved surfaces

Since when does a Canadian call the cargo area of a pickup truck a bed? It's a BOX because it has sides and a floor or bottom and if it has no sides it's a DECK, beds are for sleeping and boxes are for hauling.

The pickup is looking real good, it has nice clean lines. I see the holes are still in the frame around the grill for that ugly GMC name plate, hoping you are going to fill them in.

Sometimes primer gets bits in it if its been allowed to settle out in the tin so you have a load of thick stuff on the bottom of the can. When you mix it back up you are left with bits. That is what probably caused the gun to dribble when a bit of cr@p got stuck in the needle seat. You can also get bits if you are spraying a bit dry, that is the paint drying too much before settling on the bodywork but you seemed to have a good wet look to the freshly laid primer so it didn't look like it was going on dry. Sand it back and get new primer.

use caution around vaporized zinc plating... so unbelievably cool, however. Approach it like painting with a good Binks gun, perfectly parallel to the surface perhaps? We work with laser engravers and a fair number of large format 15kw and 20kw Bystronic cutting laser tables. Dust collection is everything! those vaporized particles go EVERYWHERE.... thank you for sharing this!! This is amazing!

Center of rear panel you might try and find gmc nameplate or trim ...

Brent I like the idea of spray on bedlinner for one it would probably cover all of your welds and gaps and maybe even the colour you might even use!

Great you want to keep the new shop clean 🧽. Booth for sanding as mentioned by others is the way to save tons of work cleaning. The truck is looking really great. You really did a great job with the removable roof. Impressive skills you have.

I know how your feeling with some aspects of building things, there's stuff that just seems to take so long. But if you don't take the time the mistakes are shown in the end product and you end up fixing later, so do it right and once no matter how long! You'll be happy in the end admiring and enjoying what you have accomplished.👌

Those things happen with spray paint. Progress is what you must aim for. It appears that has happened and it is looking fair and smooth. 240 grit to begin with when you get back to it. It's had enough 180 grit already. As I always reckon, everything is better after a sleep. Really it's better than before you gave it a squirt.

Once again you reach the point where it stopes being a project and becomes a full on job . Your in the shop doing the work but now you have reached the point where you want to say enough is enough . Athletes reach the point where they can't or don't want to go any further , but to reach the finish they have to push harder and achieve their goal . In the future you will look back on this time and smile , it will seem like nothing when you look at your finished product and say I did it and I'm proud .
