With a mission to preserve the environment and its marine life, CMA is home to rescued dolphins, sea turtles, river otters, stingrays, and more. Through Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute, CMA conducts important global research focused on protecting manatees, North Atlantic right whales and sea turtles. Major motion picture Dolphin Tale (2011) and its sequel Dolphin Tale 2 (2014) features the true stories of rescued resident dolphins Winter and Hope, inspiring millions around the world. The mission and potential to change people’s lives differentiates Clearwater Marine Aquarium from any other aquarium in the world.

Hope & Rosie Meet! Bottlenose and Rough-Toothed Dolphin Introduction
Here at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, our animal care team is constantly working to improve the socialization opportunities for our rescued dolphins. Yesterday, Hope the bottlenose dolphin got a chance to interact with Rosie the rough-toothed dolphin!
CMA is one of only two facilities in the US to care for rescued rough-toothed dolphins. While rough-toothed dolphins are a deep-water species and bottlenose dolphins live closer to shore, the two species have been known to interact together in the wild.
This introduction facilitates a more natural fission-fusion social grouping with our cetaceans and provides social variability between our resident dolphins! The introduction went well and we look forward to many more positive encounters.

Last month I finally got to CMA. It has been one of my life dreams for over 35+ years. I desperately wanted to meet Winter so very badly. It broke my heart I didn’t get there before Winter passed. The day I went to CMA, Hope swam up and touched my hand, I looked at her to feed her a fish and she took her flipper and was waiving it at me before she took the fish from me. It just melted my heart! Dolphins can be such a beautiful, sweet, and caring animal. After being there that day and spending hours down with the dolphins just watching them swim, play, and interact; there was a part of me that felt like Winter was still there playing with the other dolphins. She will never be forgotten! ❤🐬
This is what happend to me. I never got to meet her but I still got to go touch hope nick and Apollo
I’m so happy for Hope. She has a new friend. I hope I get use to Rosie.
So that's what became of Hope right after Winter died just a few years ago.
She seems pretty happy with Izzy,Nick,and Rosie,but she was probably super sad when Winter died,sense Winter was like a sister to her,Panama was a mother to her,Pj was like another mother,Apollo a little brother to her.. I feel so bad that she lost them all but she is super shy when she's with Rosie,sense they just met yesterday morning!

I'm guessing sense they are trying to probably make it seem more like the wild,they probably will! I hope the do,Rudy and Nick would get along so well,Rosie,Izzy,Nick,Rudy and Hope would all probably get along,they have such similar personalities!
