Triple screens with motion
zhlédnutí 168Před 14 dny
What is wrong with these very expensive motion setups with triple 65" static screens or even as in one example, projectors? Although they offer limited motion, the screens don't move with the cockpit! Essentially, the seat is moving in the car!!! Symdeck offers a triple screen solution which offers a more immersive experience. www.symdeck.com

New console motion washout
zhlédnutí 166Před měsícem
On console when motion is driven by pedal and wheel inputs and NOT driven by the game telemetry, to make it as realistic as possible we've added a feature called washout to the acceleration. In real life, the initial acceleration causes the front of the car to lift but it slowly returns to the default position as the rate of acceleration decreases. As you can hopefully see in the video in the s...

Symseat tries to replicate the surge and sway forces you feel when racing. Rather than pads pushing on you, you actually move pushing you into the side bolsters when cornering or forwards and backwards when accelerating and braking which feels a lot more realistic!

Wouldn’t it go forward at braking? And backwards at acceleration?
Hi, I get asked this a lot. It's to do with inertia. When you accelerate the car moves first pushing you so you feel it in your back. When you brake the car slows down before you so you feel it through the seat belt so relative to you, the car is going backwards.
Porcaria, não mostra nada!!
Hi, What do you want to see? It's literally showing the motor move as the input from the game drives it and the platform is reacting to it!

Symdeck is the best motion platform out there! It is true for both their product and amazing technical support! Big shoutout to Simon :)
Thank you for your kind words!
There’s no doubt about it, motion adds so much more to the experience of sim racing. The symdeck traction loss TL1 has made even GT7 so much more impressive 🤔

Pricing?
Hi, If you go to the website and look at the PC range, if you only play the games listed in the description of this video then you just add the price of the Trumotion controller to what ever product/s you are interested in. If you want to play other games not listed then unlike before where there was a console range, instead select the product/s as I've just explained add you will also need an additional console controller which is £100 plus tax. I'm in the process of updating the console range page on the website to try to make it clear. If you have any questions please email me at info@symdeck.com

How you open VR with simtools v3 ? When I open plugin in simtools then gane automatically started in standard version not VR.
Hi, I set rFactor 2 to automatically start in VR mode. You can do this with other games as well. You can also set Simtools to 'Auto detect launched games' so it starts the plugin when you launch the game.

Very nice, efficient DYI build! Which G-meter did you use?
Hi, I'm glad you like it but this is actually a test rig for a replacement mechanism for our current s2/s3 motion platforms. The G meter is just an app on my phone.
I need a decent value motion sistem...i see 4 motors..problably brushed motor...!!!
Hi, yes, they are brushed motors
@@symdeckracingsimulators Gear motor? and how many watt? It looks much smoother than a worm gear.
@@7Segment555 Hi, it's about 300 watts per motor and uses lead screws. Yes it is very smooth.
@@symdeckracingsimulators At first I thought it was a ball screw. You use a lead screw with POM Nut to reduce noise and low friction right? good idea. May I ask for knowledge, how about Motor rpm?
@@7Segment555 Hi, the nuts are actually bronze. I did a lot of work on the noise. There are gears and the lead screw pitch to take into account as well as the mechanism itself so the output is 125mm/s.
and this is what a motion sim should simulate
Looking forward to completing my setup but so far I’m really impressed with the traction loss TL-1. Gives so much feedback of the car letting go before you feel it at the wheel 🤔
Will we see a price drop for v1? I want to go all in, but I'm surprised how little social media presence Symdeck has. For context, I spent years racing on PC but moved to console because I got sick and tired of how many points of failure Windows PCs have (IT guy talking). I love that Symdeck is bringing quality motion products in a modular fashion to console, it's brilliant.

Thanks for that, do you guys ship to the US? Also, what is the weight capacity? I'm on an Rseat S1 roughly 250lbs, and I'm debating whether or not to use the Symdeck chassis.@@symdeckracingsimulators
@@albert.escobar31 Yes we ship to the US. I assume the weight of your S1 includes the wheel, screen etc. as the listed weight is 121lbs? Our lowest capacity products, s2/s3 can carry 220kg (480lbs). The others can carry more as they are designed to go underneath either of those two. If you email me with your preferences and an address I can give you a price including shipping, thanks.
Here's the Codemasters F1 head man testing it! twitter.com/TheLeeMather/status/1497566820139687936
Would the spec be exactly the same? Max load of 250kg and max heave of 30mm? Will u guys ever release one with more heave? U guys have the lowest in the market. Even lower than dbox which eveybody complains about the lack of height, especially for rally
Hi, yes the specs are the same but I think you misunderstand the travel capabilities. Max heave without pitch/roll is +/- 55mm (110mm). When we add some pitch and roll at 5 degrees each then it leaves 30mm of travel for heave which feels like plenty in use. You are though free to adjust the ratio of each if you want more heave. Also note the spacing of the actuators affects the pitch and roll not just the total travel.
@@symdeckracingsimulators I always got confused of the difference between 55mm vs 30mm. Now it makes sense. Yup, I understood the max pitch/roll angle is determined by the distance between them. If u want to mimic suspension like Vesaro does then u have limited angle unless u go with 6” actuator.
@@ccmiata I'm glad I've explained it better, sorry for the confusion. You can go to 6" if you wish with theirs but apart from the cost, look at the spacing of the actuators. They are about 700mm centres side to side and 1200mm front to back so I would suggest ours actually has greater combined pitch, roll and heave motion. The feeling is far greater than the angles/travel capabilities suggest.
If you have any more questions you can email me at simon@symdeck.com
Interesting how you got that to work with GT7. Great job
Thanks! :)
Question: I'm looking at maybe purchasing the trumotion control box and an s3 to run on Xbox. Will i have any issues? I can't seem to find enough information about it.

@symdeckracingsimulators5951 hey i just sent you an email. Thanks

For surge, I understand the rig moves backward to simulate car slowing down and vice versa for acceleration. Then for sway, with the same logic, shouldn’t the rig moves to the right when the car turns right? Only if the rig moving in the same direction as ur car is turning can generate a split moment of g-force correctly (though not sustained). Also, ur head will jerk naturally/correctly at the moment u turn the steering wheel if the rig moves in the same direction. I guess if the car is sliding, then it should do the opposite. But I didn’t see the car sliding in the video. That’s what Niels talked about in his “My Motion AGAINST Motion” video. If the rig moves in opposite direction, then the g-force is inverted
Hi, you are correct but having tested it both ways it just feels better this way. It's a bit like on '4 poster bed' systems where they roll when you corner. They are generally set up to roll left when you turn right but really they should roll right. It is of course easy to reverse it if you want to.
@@symdeckracingsimulators I guess in 3-dof, the rig rolls left when u turn right right is to mimic the suspension travel. Anyway, your symseat 3 looks really promising. It doesn't look like it needs to have symbelt if you already have a seatbelt mounted to the rig as the seat base will move forward pushing u into the seatbelt which is more ideal as in reality, you launch yourself into the seatbelt under braking instead of the seatbelt tightening it up on u. Just wonder how pronounce the effect is with such small movement? It's probably best to mate it with the surge platform where the rig moves backward which makes the upper body move forward to generate the "corrected" initial g-force and then the seat bottom moving forward to generate the sustained g-force. Anyway, good job!
@@ccmiata Thank you for your comments. The seat base moves about +/- 20mm which may not sound a lot but it feels a lot when you sit on it. You really need a crotch strap on the seat belt to really benefit from it.
Looking good 👊😎👌
How much does that set up cost though? And how much room does it take up? Do you guys have any tech support for people in America who buy this product?
Hi Tim, send us an email with your specific product enquiry and I'll hopefully be able to answer your questions.
Looks great! Question about the movement and such, is there options to increase the movement or strength of movement? Like for instance sliding into a wall or braking and turning really hard will give a stronger or more sudden "impact"?
Yes it is possible but you risk damaging the motion platforms. The software has crash detection built in to protect them!
Amazing to see it works on GT7! I own an S2 and it was breathtaking! Not to mention their unbelievable tech support! Big shout-out to Simon !!!
Thanks Garry, your payment is in the post! 😁
@@symdeckracingsimulators Looking forward to a big discount on my next order! LOL :)
Without VR?! It should be forbidden to use a butifull Rig without VR!
It's official. I need to start saving up for this.
Wow, now i need one.
Is there something wrong with it?? 😳 Why is the thing constantly sliding BACK when under brakes and doesn’t dive at all, neither does the front lift under throttle. What’s wrong with the platform? Why does it move opposite to how a real car does in the same situations? 🧐
Hi Aaron, In the real world, when you accelerate the car starts moving forwards before you and pushes you hence the feeling in your back from the seat so it is moving FORWARDS relative to you. When you brake, the car slows before you and without a seatbelt you would fly into the dashboard so relative to you, the car is moving BACKWARDS. We've had people also ask these questions when we've exhibited but once they've tried it they understand. Four-poster-bed style sims can only replicate braking and accelerating by lifting or lowering the nose but A REAL CAR does not lift and dive anywhere near that amount. On our system, it only does it if it's in the telemetry, i.e., the car has soft suspension, or if the user requests it in which case we add it to the motion.
Awesome demo. I saw a corner of a smile and that's the goal for me. 💸
Маза фака да это же пиздец какой-то
Was the first to much for some people who had neck problems or something cos I think I'd rather have the first unless it did couse to much of a problem. If that makes sense
Hi Karl, there are 2 reasons for it. Firstly, it reduces the amount of the stress on the motion platforms so greatly reducing the risk of damage. We recommend setting up an escape button on the wheel so if you think you're going to crash you can avoid it. Secondly, because that's in the back of your mind as you race, as well as the amount you get thrown around which doesn't really show in the first video you drive more cautiously. I hope that helps.
@@symdeckracingsimulators absolutely thank you for your reply kind regards
Sorry, what was the difference between the two?
Hi Andy, the software detects the G force spike and stops the motion. I still wanted some hit but look at the amount of head motion in both videos and it goes on for longer in the first one.
does it work with an h pattern shifter
Hi John, yes it will. You can see it here: czcams.com/video/lzFUPlRPyaw/video.html
It should be called 6DoF +, 7Dof does not exist, in racing sims. There are motion effects (inner ear balance changes), haptic effects (body vibrations), and g-force effects (body pressures). These 3 combined (and well synced) will be as close to the real thing. About g-force, what about the Symseat ?
Hi Tom, I'm aware you are technically correct but it takes your mind to another dimension hence calling it 7 DOF. The new Symseat wasn't off the drawing board when this was filmed. Adding sustained surge and sway just makes it even better.
Will the console ever be able to run the traction loss sway motion pad aswell as the s1 and s2 platforms? I’m so close to buying the full s2 setup for my Xbox but the traction loss pad for the pc is making me think a complete gaming switch might be what I really want! I’m going to have to hide the bank statements from the missis I think soon! 🤣
@@hiphoprap3904 Hi, we now have a product called the Trumotion controller and for certain games you can have full 6 DOF motion so yes it's possible to have sway and traction loss on console.
Can't stand the delay between the virtual when and your wheel. That would drive me nuts lol
What can go together for entry level and how much are they likely to cost
Hi Karl, I emailed you from 2 different email addresses when you enquired through our web site. Please check your spam folder. If you haven't received the email then please let me know.
Hi Karl, did you get my emails?
Is this all the modules connected?
Yes this is every module we produce working together to give 6 DOF motion plus the Symbelt harness tensioner.
@@symdeckracingsimulators what do you call this combo on your site?
@@benjiebarker Hi, we don't have them shown as a combo on the site. It's a combination of the TL, s1, s3 and Symbelt. It is also showing a sway unit which is in final testing. I'm also finalising testing on our new Symseat which simulates sustained lateral G. Email me at simon@symdeck.com with your requirements and an address and i can give you a shipping cost.
Could you put the s1 and s2 together?
It's a modular system and each part add a bit more immersion. Yes, you can put them together as well as the Symbelt for consoles.
