This is definitely a cottonmouth AKA water moccasin. Contrary to popular belief they do not chase people and bites can cause death but most likely won't happen if you see medical attention. There has only been three to five deaths in the last 40 years from them. Hardly deadly

He has the correct pattern . And he is the correct body type . Short and thick. And if all that fails THE FANG SHEATHS ARE RIGHT THERE FOR GOD AND EVERYONE TO SEE
