Not good, I had my centrelines dinged by a tyre shop. They paid for replacement.
They damaged all 4! Hell yeah I'd go back and complain!
I did, and we did come to a reasonable solution.Thanks for watching!

Same happened to me. Called him out right there, he said they where already scratched. They where like new anodized aluminum rims. I payed and never went back.
They did end up making a concession. Whether I'll go back or not-I don't know.
I'd be pissed and they need to fix them

@@halfahotrods6332 do you have a parts of America anywhere near you? They sell online. They were the old Western Auto stores. Do they have coupons online for up to 35% off. I never seem to catch the 35% off. I like to go pick it up at their stores. You will see where I'm going with this. I always feel it out so I have all the numbers and everything online but I can never get to go through. I really can't. Sometimes I can't find their 25% off discount coupon. But when I call 🤙 the 800 # I tell them that I can not get my order to go through. They put it in manually. I remind them of the 25% off coupon. They apply it.
@@halfahotrods6332 I like the white rims. Always seems like something goes wrong when I'm out in the road. But if you have a parts American near you where you can pick it up at the store but order online here's something you want to know. They always have coupons up to 35% off it's by a third party vendor according to what a few store managers have told me. And they can't sell it for the prices that I get it online. What I do is I call in the 800 number after legitimately trying to get it to go through on their website. Tell them I can't get to go through. And remind them about the 25% discount. They always look it up and apply it for me. And it's a real savings. Now I've done it in a while. And they will ship it to your home office or business as well. I'm not sure how the coupons work with them shipping it. It seems like they have free shipping. But I thought I would let you know this so you can save a couple of bucks possibly. Parts of America is what the old western autos eventually turned into.
Stick to the original plan is what I think 🤔. But I'm not sure what that is.

@@halfahotrods6332 one thing nice about not having a plan set in stone 🪨 is when you're finished, you have ended up exactly where you wanted to be! I like the white painted rims. Sometimes if you get at Walmart Tire & lube they have people order tires in and never pick him up instead of sending them back, they discount them. At what time is 20 cents on the dollar 💵💰. No that was not the discount that was the price. The last Walmart found to do that well they stopped. May have been the 50 to 100 tires I bought from them and hauled out for one time. I don't care for Firestone. Sometimes different ones will sell older new tires cheap

I have mounted tires and done balancing on them, bigger than what you have there. Someone was either too lazy or just didn't care. Now, that being said, why wouldn't you paint them AFTER you had the tires installed. Taping them off is no big deal and you can insure that if there is damage, that's on you good sir. Have a great one!

Spray paint isn’t ideal but it wouldn’t have scratched if they were more careful.

@@punkinsgarageandpaint8299 I’ve had lots of ideas for the bed. I think it’s going to be completely custom with a lot of stock lines.
i work at a tire shop and that would come out of everyones check. my only question is did you use paint or did you powder coat them? paint will inevitably get mega scratched super fast.
Budget led me to spray cans…I’ve done many that survive with a little extra care.
@@halfahotrods6332 definitely understand that but the issue lies in the thickness of the layer and the layer adhesion. although I agree that the shop should’ve had more attention and thoughtfulness, this was inevitable

Been there, it sucks. To rub salt in the wound I listened to one wheel hiss all the way home. They were free of charge...

@halfahotrods6332 I knew I had to refinish the wheels and the tires had to come back off. Went to a different shop and talked to the tire guy about getting tires off and back on without hurting the wheels. He said no problem, we do it all day. He even offered to hold the tires at the shop while I fixed the wheels. Came back about 2 weeks later and that guy "quit" and the tires were "lost." They agreed to cover the cost of new tires after a long discussion and me agreeing to pay for mount and balance. I truly believe the car that wears these wheels is cursed. It's never left me stranded but EVERY single time I try to "customize" or "modify" anything on it, it all goes south in a hurry. Unfortunately I like it too much to get rid of it. I finished year 2 of ohio winters with a 2 door rwd sports car with a car seat in the back. I'm pretty dedicated to it, the wife thinks I'm crazy though.

You have gone to the wrong shop and I suspect they had some kind of DEI equity program in the hiring process. If you complain they will ruin your life and probably take your wheels so you should probably just live with it and take it in the back side.

Hey bud an easier way to do this next time is using the rossfin method… take a crank wrench to those bolts holding the frame mounts and give it hell. They will slide the frame out so those pins just pop right out

@@halfahotrods6332 fantastic. Did you know that set of 2003 Ford F350 Sterling axles dually, fit under a 1999 Jeep. Me neither but I'm going to fill out today that knows his stuff. You know how I learned it? Just like you. Try and see what works figure it out. Then make something work

How well does it fit with the front track being 5 winches wider on the newer truck
With 73-87 wheels and 2 inch spacers, the tire is just barely inside the fender. I have a short that shows a close view with and without spacers.
We have actually used grinders and cutting torches to take lug nuts off in years gone by. With enough care you can do it without messing up the rim

Wow you're taking a lot of grief people who don't even know that's an inch and 7/8 clasp on that tongue. And 2-inch ball 🏀🏀 on the bumper. Instead of title it when your balls are too big. I have a hitch from a trailer that is patent pending 1922. I have the ball to go with it until somebody stole my truck. Bathroom while back. I don't remember what it was but it was an oddball size parrot like an inch and a half or something. It was not 178 it was not 2 inch it was an inch and something. It looked like it was 1978 but it was smaller. For what it's worth
