zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 8 lety
As promised, this is the snap video of my solidarity message dedicated to victims of rape in the Gambia. I produced the video following a passionate plea by some Gambian women’s rights activists based in the diaspora who are also highly visible on the social media urging Gambian men to show solidarity with their women compatriots. One of their condition was that we should all wear either a pin ...

Ladyia Aniyah Ajono has done enough to tell a good story about a well preserved culture in bolga and beyond, Lydia could have thorough explanation for the reasons behind it.Yes diar is a war victory cerebration but it existed long before slavery and British invasion, l as a tendaab from baare (bomrow) near Tongo would suggest that it is a true dance fit for hero's and heroes alike to celebrate their passing for example, a high priest(tendaana), a clan head (bulignaan) or pristigious family member with lots of wives and countless sons and daughters who are very sucessful therefore his or her children owes their parent an obligation to celebrate and not just war ceremony
Hello Ebrima, Ebrima, thanks for sharing your pieces on onchocerciasis. You took us to the affected area. I have shared your story on on the resurgence of river blindness on facebook and twitter. It is a serious problem that must be tackled. But some questions. First, is a new generation of blackflies immuned to the spraying? We have heard ordinary people talking of their experiences. Apart from the good old teacher, women, children and people with disability would be most affected. Can scientists tell us what is happening? And how are policy makers reacting to the reports? It is really pathetic to see more helpless blindmen and women are migrating from rural areas to the cities to beg for alms as a result of this disease. Is river blindness becoming one of the neglected tropical diseases? What is the way out? What are the interventions? Thanks
I sincerely commend you and the Africa Media center- Africa Story challenge Team for investigating this story. River blindness is one of the neglected diseases that is silently causing havoc in rural communities in Northern Ghana. I think, Ebrima your story is quiet timely and I promise my support to you to continue the series with the hope to find someone listening from either the Government or the International level to do something about it or could make blindness in Northern Ghana especially the Upper East region a thing of the past one day.. Good work brother ,and I know your heart beat for Africa to either reduce or eradicate preventable blindness or all Neglected Tropical diseases. Lydia Ajono Bolgatanga Ghana
people should not only concentrate in politics of investing in the stomach but to save the poor, all these are due to climate change and poor medical assistance but health assistance are so lazy to do research and learn and do not always give real issues that affect the people out in the national levels God bless you all. Radio Gurune in the Bolgatanga municipality presenters are always worried about these tropical neglected diseases.
