From BAIT to PLATE: Bobber Down
Shinna hasn't been able to fish in awhile, so she wanted to sharpen her bobber drifting skills and get a little rust off. Fortunately, there were Coho willing to cooperate.
A word about Hoedeopbap, a Korean dish made with raw fish, rice, caviar, vegetables and a spicy sauce. It is one of my all-time favorite dishes and I highly recommend it. Don't forget the kimchi!

Bonneville Shad Fishing: A How to Quick Start Guide
Have you used/tested this modification, and does it work? Has the rubber stayed in place?
I've used this to precisely set the troll speed hundreds of times now. It's still working perfectly. Locks in and holds the RPM exactly at the speed I need. Set it and forget it!👍
This really saved me from so much frustration, thank you!!
Glad it helped you out!
How did you manage to be there when wasn't that crowded? Was it weekday? What time?
This was early in the run and on a weekday. Shad fishing is becoming more and more popular since other fishing opportunities are decreasing. The sad part is, there are a lot of people who catch as much shad as they can, and that 's a lot because they are pretty easy to catch, but they just waste them since they don't really eat them, they just throw them away. If you don't plan on eating them, please practice good conservation and catch and release. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Tight lines and good luck.
Thanks. I live not even an hour from here and so ignorant about fishing. Now i gotta try this. Thank you
Thanks for watching and for the comment. Give it a try. It's a lot of fun and the shad are real fighters. Heading down soon myself. Leave a comment on how you did. Always fun to hear updates. Good luck and tight lines.
Not hating on you, a bilge pump off Amazon $20 cut the end would do the same thing. If you wanna cheat 😅
You're right. I used a bilge pump before. The problem I ran into is that the bilge pump was pretty narrow and the shrimp were crushed. But maybe I just wasn't using it right. There's a thousand way to skin a cat as they say.
Great video, very detailed explanation of how to build.
Thanks Rick. I hope it helps you get on the shrimp! And thanks for the comment.
I was just breaking in my new 140 and 9.9 yesterday and figured this throttle issue was gonna be a problem for trolling. Thanks for these tips.
You're welcome. Congrats on the new motors. I'm sure this mod will work out perfect for you for trolling. Especially if you troll at lower RPM's. I've been using mine for couple years now without replacing the rubber and it stills works great.
Thanks for the instructional. Very well thought out, but there has got to be a better cheaper way. Maybe modifying a hand bilge pump or children's pool water blaster type toy? I priced all the parts out and it's currently (2024) over $50. That seems a lot to me.
Martin, that’s the great thing about invention. I’m sure you can come up with something that might be lower cost. Be sure and let us know what you come up with.
It looks like this mod locks the throttle. If you don't tighten it down all the way, does it add friction? That's ultimately what I'm looking to do, currently that knob does nothing.
Yes, it can only add friction if you don’t tighten it down hard. Thanks for the question and for watching.
This is excellent! Thank you for taking the time.
Thanks Paul. I hope it helps you get a bucket of shrimp. And thank you for watching.
Hy in may how fogy goes? Im tray to 2nd. Week this year.2024.thanks
It can get heavy fog in May. Also, it's important to check swell height at period and wind because the mouth of the marina is perpendicular to the waves and can be dangerous because the waves are coming in from the side as you try to go out and back in. You can call the Coast Guard station and ask for sea conditions. Thank for watching. Hope you do well.
Thanks, I'm going the las week the May 24 wish seen there 🎉🎉
Good luck Antonio. Might see you out there. Be sure and check the weather and swells. Have Fun and let us know how you do.@@antoniojacobo2811
I appreciate the time and effort put in to make this video, very informative 👍 Thank you.
Glad it helped you out. Hope you can use your new "gun" to get a bucket load of sand shrimp.
@@Baywolf_films best bait in the world that I know of. Happy fishing!
100%. Tight lines.@@danno5805
Nice
Nice fishing! Is there some kind of regulation in that area about not using a net?
Great question. It’s ok to use a net. It just takes longer than to just lift them over the side. We did use a net on the ling cod. Thanks for watching.
Looks fun. Where did you launch from and takeout from?
We launched from a private property launch and pulled out at the crossover bridge. Not sure what the launch is called. My friend knows them.
@@Baywolf_films thats Patty's Barn .
🦐 it is a bait suction pump! 🦐
Yes, it is. Sand shrimp, or ghost shrimp they are also called I was told, are excellent bait for all kinds of fish. Here in the Pacific Northwest we use them for all salmon species, Steelhead and Surfperch. But almost any fish will grab em. They are like candy. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Looks like a blast!
It was a great trip. Seeing the river from a trip down it like that is highly recommended.
Good job guys keep the video coming 👍
Thanks Chef...Wish you could have made them into lunch for us all! 😉😋
Nice video! I like those snap shots of the sea lion.
Awesome edit! And thanks for taking me out!
Thanks. It's always fun fishing with you. Hope we can get out again soon my friends.
Too bad I bought the troll master already, which is still working but this would have been easier. I read your post about the Suzuki 9.9 efi surging when you give it just the slightest throttle off idle, have you found a fix for this? Right now it's either 1mph at idle, or give it ever the slightest throttle increase and the rpms jump so high (for such little input) and becomes too fast. I feel like I should have gone with a Yamaha but screw carburetors.
I feel your pain. But I did find a solution, at least in my case. I found that if I warm the motor up really good she purrs at very low rpm just above idle. I troll at 1.2 for Kokanee and after warming up the motor by running it at near WOT for about 5 minutes while pushing the boat around I can throttle down and lock it at just over idle and she will sit there and purr for hours. Be sure and run it back up to higher RPM before shutting down after prolonged trolling. I believe that helps clean out the pistons and valves. Hope that works for you too. Check back in and let me know.
@@Baywolf_films Just wanted to give you a follow up, I went trolling today and remembered your advice. I ran the kicker around going to wide open now and then and then sure enough the RPMs were much more tame from idle. You have no idea how much frustration you just saved me. Big thank you man.
@@callmekham8458 Excellent news. Made my day to know it helped. Hope you were successful trolling.
Nice video. Two gorgeous September days. That stretch of river with the drift boat was lowering my blood pressure just watching it! Relaxing! Love the double camera angles.
Thanks for the vid. I will try this on mine.
Nice catch was this in Washington?
Thank you. Yes. One of the rivers that still has a pretty good spring king run.
Exactly what I was looking for like a year. Thank you!!! No $300 I-Troll for me!!
Glad it could help. I’ve been using it going on a year now and it works perfectly!
I think there is limit in california for harvesting those ghost shirmp , so chech regulations in your area or get a hefty ticket !
Thanks Frank. Yes, in Cali there is a limit. Here in Washington there is no limit...yet.
Please send me the plans for a shrimp gun. Looks like you killed the perch today.
Thanks for watching. The perch absolutely love sand shrimp. In fact, we call them perch candy! Here is a link to a video I put together on how to build your own sand shrimp gun. czcams.com/video/m-9JW1eeHvU/video.html Happy shrimping and hope you get on the perch!
Great work and what a beautiful springer. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching and for the compliment Raymond. Tight lines and remember to take a child fishing.
Ought to get it done with how much they charge to fish there
Unfortunately with more and more limited access available to sportsmen it's becoming common for "pay to play".
Bass? Where?? LOL.. nice work on the rockfish...
Thanks Werf. It was a blast sight fishing for these.
Nice action! Great video

Thanks Frank. I hope it helps you out. Thanks for watching.
8:03 what was that noise? did animal died?
Lol!! No…that was my shoe that I was drying on my trailer that fell to the floor. I assure you, no animals were harmed in the making of this film. 😂
Very nice, some great fish there...
Hey Coach. Thanks. Hope all is well with you. With the demise of SD Board, I haven't been able to follow your adventures as closely. Can't wait till you post some more.
Thanks for sharing. Good tips
Thanks for watching Ron. I hope it helps you get on more fish.
Never fished the lake, any suggestions on which part of the lake to target?
Thanks for watching Greg. The cove located in the northeast end of the lake. At least until the water temps warm up a bit. There is an underground stream there and the water is shallower and thus warms faster. Please hit the like button if you enjoyed the video, as it help it get to others. And please, take a child fishing. We need a new generation to enjoy the sport and help protect our beautiful outdoors.👍
It wasn’t me, it was that boat. It’s so pristine it actually was blinding the trout and they were only hitting from aggression to make it go away…. In all seriousness, thanks for having me on board. What a fun day. It’s going to be heck of a season.
Had a great day and a lot of fun! Can’t wait till the next adventure.
I actually catch them with beads i dont need shad darts. Just use floresent green beads.
I noticed that there are a lot of different things that people use that work. Thanks for the tip on the florescent green beads...I'll give them a try this year.
new subscriber here. do you have a video on where to purchase and how to install that little black hour box thing in that kicker motor?
Sure do. Here is a link to the one I got. www.amazon.com/Maintenance-Tachometer-Motorcycle-Paramotors-Snowmobile/dp/B07MXXLXFP/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1T9TMXDVN7PU6&keywords=hour+meters+for+small+engines&qid=1675012861&sprefix=hour+meter%2Caps%2C182&sr=8-5
The install instructions are very easy. I don't have a video, but the package has instructions. Simply, just wrap the wire four times around your #1 spark plug wire near where it goes on the plug. Use a small zip tie to hold it in place. Gives RPM and hours. Pretty cool.
@@Baywolf_films thank you and very much appreciated. wow i didnt know it was that simple🤦♂ also it gives rpm too thats also what i wanted to add as well. 2 bird with one stone yes!

i have been struggling with my throttle to set my trolling speed . This fix is just what i needed & will do this fix tomorrow . Lake Erie walleye are in trouble now. Thanks
Nitro, glad this will help. Thank you for watching and for the comment. I found it really helps to get the motor good and warm before trolling and to throttle up every hour or so to blow out the unburnt fuel and carbon. Get on those 'eye's bud! 🎣
looks like it will work..
Thanks coach!
I’m surprised that spring was so stiff. Nice simple saltwater proof solution!
Thanks for the info and demo!
Great what’s best time of year for sea perch fishing
I have neoprene one piece waders, think they will work ok?
Thank you for watching. Yes, your neoprene waders will work fine. Ours have the boots attached. Just be VERY CAREFUL not to go out very far. The waves can stack up and lift you right off your feet. Never turn your back to the waves and keep an eye out always. You don’t have to go out more than knee deep because the fish are in close. Good luck, stay safe and let us know how you do.
@@Baywolf_films many thanks….nice channel as well sir. I’ll watch for new posts.
Are your waders over boots or, are the boots and waders one piece?
