My favourite author when I was 8-9. I haven't read all of her books, but maybe they weren't all translated into Polish yet or my libraries didn't have it. This is the first time I have seen an interview with her. I guessed the answer to the last question - what she wishes for the world. One day I want to have a character named Astrid, it's a lovely name. Only yesterday I found out her middle name was Anna.

I’ve never seen footage of her speaking English before!
Gosh.. She is my favorite writer ever! I spent my childhood reading her books in 87's til 90's!! My favorite are Children from Bullerbyn, Emil, Pippi Longstocking, Madita and Lotta! ❤❤ My late father used to stocked us with her series books! It was very pleasant time for us especially during the school holiday. We collected all series. We were living in Indonesia and at that time Gramedia was the only book store who has translated all foreign children books into Indonesian language. My sister and I were definitely having the best childhood memories with her books! Thank you Astrid Lindgren! We love you! ❤❤❤❤
Alicia Vikander has a kind of heart. She is generous, helpful and loving. Her husband, Michael Fassbender, helps her to make a charity.
Astrid Lindgren is certainly the best author for kids. We had so much fun reading her books. I started to read them when I was about ten. But even now I consider it is such a pleasure to reread them and share the joy with children.
I am not swedish i only saw pippi as a kid and it stuck with me into adult life then I started looking into her other stuff and nothing else Iike the films based on her stories transport me back to being a kid. I really love bullerbyn and madicken stories.
She's a lot sterner than I pictured her haha, but her great kindness comes through in her wonderful books :))
If you heard her in spoken swedish you would say she is THE grandmother of all children. She talked so calm and wonderfull. Even if she seems to know english she struggles to find the rigth words. She sounded more warm and kindly in swedish. The conversaitons got so much deeper.

Pippi of today, where is she? Usually left behind in some terror war zone. Good men should travel with their women and children, not leave them behind in the misery theyre running from. If its so bad you gotta flee, you take everyone you love with you! This "men go first" nonsense doesnt add up, especially since many cultures doesnt allow women to travel alone. I love Astrid Lindgren but I dont understand this channels focus, or why some commentary fields are inactive. People shouldnt be afraid to have open discussions 2020, if we dont talk about this phenomena then women and children will continue to be "disposable".
Hello and thank you for commenting! You are right, but on the other hand the number of girls on the move has not been this high since the end of the Second World War. Girls comprise an especially vulnerable group among refugees, with unique challenges that are often times forgotten. Girls on the move face a greater risk of being exposed to violence and exploitation, such as sexual abuse and child marriage, in most cases their education is also put on hold. The initiative “Pippi of Today” is a collaboration to create awareness and raise money for Save the Children’s work for girls on the move. Most older Scandinavians speak fluent english and many even some german.

I think scandinavian schools always had good basics and tv is always in original language. That helps.

Speaking English is normal in most Scandinavian nations english is a second language. As well as Iceland, When this Covid is over you need to travel.
I'm an American. There used to be a lot of Swedes in the USA, Minnesota. Not so much anymore, as there used to be.... But I fondly recall my mother telling me a bit about the story of Pippi Longstocking. My mother died from a small airplane crash when I was nine... So it might be nice to visit this Pippi Longstalking story and see what she was talking about. It seemed to be a beloved story from HER childhood. ♥️ Thank you for sharing this video.
