Mostly because this has more of a bittersweet and melancholic tone to it's approach to lyricism compared to the original Japanese version which fits with the theme and the atmosphere of the show a lot more than the Japanese version(Which mostly stemmed from Yoko Takahashi not knowing what the themes for the show was at the time when writing this).
