We thanked those who have served on ministry teams throughout this amazing and positive church year together. Beautiful sermon on marriage. It’s all about partnership and aligning of the wills. For me this passage really makes me consider authority and will. Not long ago I had the thought of how Jesus, as King of Kings and Lord of Lords has all authority, yet how do we see him use it? He washes our feet!! There is no abuse of power, it’s all about relationship. He asks us to partner with Him and in saying I Do, we align our will and commit ourselves to Him. In loving Him, we desire what he wants and He desires to love us and He also defines love. He is Love. In this way we become one. We move in the same direction and that direction is towards each other. I haven’t listened yet to your parenting sermon, but I will assume it has something to do with how, we as parents use our authority, which also has something so do with each person’s will in the relationship. I’ve also been recently considering moving and waiting, the tension we see there in the prodigal son while the father waits, but also yet runs toward.
