You can get those beads off the shower curtain rings with a pair of pliers. Flatten the little bump on each end of the beads that holds them. I did this a while back. Don't remember why, but it worked. 🤷♀️
Yarn or washi tape around nuts and washers works as well
Your video are great and such good idea from both you and others. Great to share. My friend and I use a lazy Susan to hold things on our sewing area
How to store patterns
Also use the dog brush to clear your threads and such from Velcro strips that accumulate over time
Somebgreatbtips, thank you!
My favorite: I got a 6-pack of cheap paintbrushes in the toy section at Family Dollar, which I use when turning things. They are smooth and have a fairly blunt end, and the various sizes mean that I always have just the right size. My other thing is empty facial tissue boxes to use as a mini-wastebasket right by my machine. Just toss it when it's full.
Just made one of these and so pleased how it came out but my seam on the lining seems a bit thick inside even though I used a thin material and trimmed it before turning the right way. It’s just at the opening where it doesn’t lie quite right. Any suggestions? Thank you
Hmm without seeing it I’d suggest maybe pressing with some steam before and after. Happy to help of you want to send a photo to info@SookieSews.com
Thank you for your tutorial on this 😊I’m excited to get mine next month.
Yay! Love mine
What is the name of this vacuum? I can’t find it in video anywhere, or on your website!
Sure thing. It’s all listed in the description but I’ll place here to make it easier for you. It’s called the Koonie and I love it amzn.to/3RWRB13
Many patterns come with more than one size printed on the same paper. I have used interfacing to trace the sizes I am planning to sew, thus saving the other sizes to use later for a different child or grandchild, or even the same child who has grown. I actually enjoy using the interface pieces more than I do the paper pattern pieces, and they fold up and last really well. When you were using the parchment paper, I thought that parchment paper would work very well for tracing patterns. I think I may try it. Thank you for all the ideas you share.
That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Ibet u dont have a stitch gress
Not sure what you mean?
The coasters (white tiles) can be found at Lowe’s and Home Depot for .16 . Much cheaper than those at the Dollar Store.
Excellent point
Your directions were spot on. I did it! Love your tutorial. Thanks!
So glad it worked!!
Thanks
You’re welcome
those knobby things for holding iphones in your fingers work great stuck on your smaller rulers and guides.
That’s a great idea!! Thank you no need to make a new one of these videos.
Just yesterday before watching this video I decided I needed a silverware tray to put tools, pins, etc in while sewing. Then I watched the video and my idea popped up. Now to find an extra tray in the house or to buy one. I have vision problems now at 83 so threading my machine needle is hard. I have found that if I put a small piece of white paper behind the eye of the needle it makes it easier for me to thread it.
Excellent tip. Thank you
I font have arrow on my screen. What to do?
Not sure this video is almost 4 years old
Thank you. I LOVE their chart and your video. Another great thing about Schmetz needles is: the package! The color photo, right behind the package, shows a sample of the type of fabric for that needle (like denim). Don’t work for Schmetz, just like their needles.
What a great reminder and yes I agree I love them :)
Thank you for sharing your sewing video!
You’re welcome. It’s two n half years old so I owe you all a new one.
I use 99% of the time 75/11 embroidery or sharp needles for my quilt projects! I stopped using a universal needle years ago when I learned that it between a sharp and a ballpoint - just didn’t like the stitches it made.
Isn’t it great when you find something that just works!!
Wonderfull tips. I will try some of them. THKS. TX/PR
So glad you were able to find some good ones.
I used to change my needles when they broke - and only when they broke. Thanks to you, I’ve learned that needles are one of the least expensive parts of sewing AND also one of the most important! Now, I change my needles regularly. And I’m more careful about choosing the right needle for the project.
I’m ashamed to admit that I’m horrible about replacing needles. I never remember to make a note when replacing a needle so I know how old it might be🫢🫢
@sandybruce9092 don’t be ashamed. We all are all learning something new all the time. That’s my favorite thing about life :) I do have a good detailed video on needle though you can check out here. czcams.com/video/E-3N5hS0_V8/video.htmlsi=AciayWPvfLSKwws5
You’re so right. Needles are a low cost investment to keep the machine humming :)
It’s a good reminder for all of us :)
I use a mini flat iron for pressing my EPP hexagons pieces. Works great and very portable.
So smart
Many machines come with a button foot. I am now planning to organize my whole button box. A great rainy-day project. Temu sells heat-erasable markers...fine point, multi colors, WITH REFILLS. I keep my heat tool close, using it to erase mistake, or remove marks on non-washables. They have become my favorite notion ever. Also - PILL BOTTLES. I take a lot of meds, hence many bottles every month. My fave is keeping my water-soluble thread separate and dry.
Where is pattern ??? 😢

Thank you for the lovely and super useful free pattern and fantastic video 🎉
@sarahj6190 you’re so welcome
What is different about the gold versions?
Longevity
Longer lasting :)
@@SookieSewsThanks as I’ve been wondering the same and if they are worth the higher prices! It’s just hard to find the 75/11 sharps or embroidery around where I live. I buy them when I find them - it’s always good to have plenty of needles available!!!
Use binder clips for your zippers, cheap at dollar tree and you can get more on than your shower curtain hook
Loved this video, but what size pillow form did you use?
Glad you enjoyed. The pillow blanks from OESD are all 14”x14” you can find them in their website here oesd.com/oesd-easy-sew-pillow-blanks/?sku=OESD80452&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1emzBhB8EiwAHwZZxbShie4bzqAtpGWifaa9cIzgooiPHdrgdK1S6QNtsV4YQxo943lsDBoCKS0QAvD_BwE
@@SookieSews Correct but what size pillow insert is used to stuff inside the finished blank?
@beckyfendrick324 generally the size of the pillow is the same as the finished measurements, so in this case a 14” pillow form. Unless you want a looser for then 12”.
@@SookieSews Thanks!
Thank you
I see people using a marker all the time but I found a fabric marker that didn’t wash out. Even with spray and wash. Wasn’t marked permanent either. Have you ever tried those kids markers that are supposed to wash out?
I have. Included in a more recent “hack” video. They do coke out of cotton but with very HOT water. Is still test everything
Great tips, very helpful, thank you very much. The tips from your viewers are pretty good as well.. love this! Thanks.
I love the ideas I get from you all. We have a wonderful sewing community
Brilliant ideas that blew my mind. Thank you!

You’re so welcome
The only problem is, when you use the chip's it will a cease .😊
nice
nice
Thank you for this video. It is just the technique I’ve been looking for!👍
Yay so glad it helped
Also instead of using the dog grooming brush is using a sheep carding brush
Oh interesting and great idea. I’ll have to see if I can find one
Best thing using the post it notes for seams!!!
Yay glad it helped
These were all great tips!
Yay glad they helped

How do I clean it.
I’ve tried different things over the years but eventually they just need to be retired
Enjoyed the bunny bag idea. ❤
