One of the best stories of the Film Noir era, with more realism from the locals than most. I hate to think how many great films were lost over the years- glad they saved this one from being an article only on Wikipedia.

The first time I saw this film by Roger Corman was sometime in the early 1970s on KHJ Channel 9 (an independent station which is now KCAL) from Los Angeles, California. 'Fright Night With Seymour' which aired on Saturday nights at 10pm, and he would show double feature horror films. I was born, grew up, went to school, worked and now retired on the Central West Coast, and at time we had cable TV. I was a teen when I use to watch 'Fright Night With Seymour.' He was vey entertaining, and he would cut into the films making funny silly comments about the actors and about the horror storylines.

Boy! Saturday morning was a big deal when I was young. Sky King was a huge part of it. Especially fall and winter.

Superb movie!

90 years ago already this month! Wow. As a filmmaker, I love watching these timeless classics. Editing is an art, and they created a masterpiece. It's crazy to think all of these actors/actresses are all long gone by now.

Just saw two episodes of this great show and the beautiful rebecca Welles was in both of them. Don´t know why she wasn´t better known.

My saddest scene is around 37:37 when the victim's parents arrive at the Medical Examiner's office. The mom kept on saying how she hated her daughter but when she saw her dead girl's face, she cried and lamented "my baby, my baby!". Tears welled up in my eyes as I viewed this as a father, and I have the same worries for my little boy (he's 17 now wanting to be 22) every day. Excellent movie.

I remember watching this show one afternoon in the family room mirror, from that day on it was the adventures of "YKS GNIK"! I really like the old T50 Bob-cat over the newer job, something about radial engines keeps me in the '40s!!

It is good, a world gone even us as the children of this world.back then.as now I hate computer,this modernist world.i am not bragin'. Thare are alot left of us , though thay are younger. And evin' now this generation is beginning to question this evin' modern world.to change it, fore the better enough people to stand up to be counted, and stand fore truth.

Sky King began as a popular radio show on the ABC network before finding success as a television progrma, one of the few shows to air on NBC, ABC, and CBS. The only original network season was the first, on NBC's Sunday evening schedule from 1951-52. These episode were rebroadcast on ABC's Saturday Morning lineup the following year, and new episodes were produced when the show went into syndicated in 1955. CBS returned the property to Saturday morning for a successful run for the remaining next 11 seasons, from 1959-66, consisting entirely of repeats of all 72 episodes of all 4 seasons.

Such a great movie. Ahead of its time in terms of technique, use of sound, Davis as a bitchy but still sympathetic heroine. Brilliant. I love the moment when Leslie Howard gets his foot fixed, only to use his new found mobility to walk endlessly for jobs that aren't there, in Depression era England. The ending also isn't typical, as the director leaves it unclear whether he'd be truly happy with Frances Dee. Nothing goes as you think it will in this film. Great stuff.
