That was really wonderful. OMG they're all so powerful. Y'all do important work. I'm thankful this was made available here. Thank you.
I appreciate so much how the EmpowHer staff specified that speaking in front of people is a little scary, and then proceeded to absolutely dominate. I'm personally terrified as the speaker in front of an audience, and this makes me feel so much better about myself simply seeing strong people saying the same thing I'm thinking and feeling myself. 💖💖

Ian Mackaye has such an incredible memory and is so passionate when he speaks. It’s always a pleasure to hear his take on anything really.
You don't get standing ovations for stealing people's work.
Care to explain. Idk who she is, so who did she steal from? I genuinely like to know.
Whose work did she steal??

I’m always leary, now a days, when a woman endorse anything. However, I will have more confidence when she submits to God entirely and stop leaning into her own understanding. If she would admit, the things she champions, are emotionally driven, rather than, spiritually guided. This recognizes and confirms the place Gods advice and recommendations play in her choices.
Why did the moderator talk so long? The author was sitting right there!
Sheila Johnson is amazing and an inspiration. I have followed her trajectory in my 20’s to the present, for more than 30 years. Her business acumen is incredible and impressive.
Inspirational!!!!!
I looked up Mr. Mallon's photos of his late 20s and he did look like Jonathan Bailey. Reading the Fellow Travelers book (after having watched repeatedly the Showtime series) I had felt that Tim Laughlin was based on the author. I, a straight woman happily married, fell in love with both Tim and Hawk! Thank you for you powerful writing and great novel leading to an amazing limited series show!
Nikole is The Realest! I Love how she shows up. She is authentic in all spaces. In a time when true journalism is almost non-existent, its refreshing when journalist do the hard work-the real work!! And she does it being unapologetically black!!! ⚡
The Rise and Stolen BLACK FREEDMAN Savings Bank!!! The Benign Neglect, Anti-Black Racist policies, trick-bag reparation scams will NOT be Tolerated by this generation!!! The Democrats (and the Republicans) were told that the road to the white house is the Black Agenda GETS the Black Vote!!! "Cut The Check" GETS the Black Vote!!! or COUCH 2024!!! They heard us the first time!!! They hear us Now!!! Now, don't you think it's time to address Lineage Based "Direct Cash Payment" Reparations specifically for Foundational Black American, FREEDMEN descendants of United States of America Chattel Slavery? You're well aware of American slavery and the legacy of that and that we were never compensated or given restitution. So, when America ended slavery, it didn't do for us what it did for literally everybody else. It made them whole. It gave them compensation. We were just turned loose in a society that was making laws against us the entire time and still continues to do so. So, what I'm saying is that it was never rectified and that is the cause, the root cause of our current condition today is this ongoing practice of perpetuating what occurred, rather than remedying it. So, they remedied it for everybody else. Now whether or not, how they used it is a different matter. You know when you talk about the Indian casinos and what not, well they gave them their reparations and they can use it however they want to. You can have your opinions about that, but nobody took care of ours and we're talking about from chattel slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, prison industrial complex. You know we keep going after period after period of time of targeting us and taking our wealth from us and giving it to the White Society and at no point restoring that? - Jason "The Black Authority" Black "We have no permanent friends. We have no permanent enemies. We Only have permanent interest" -Professor BlackTruth. #B1 #WeAreTheBlackMedia No Reparations!!! No Vote!!! No Kidding!!! CUT THE CHECK!!!... #CutTheCheck #LineageBasedReparationsAcrossTheBoard #NoTangiblesNoVote #FoundationalBlackAmerican #FBA #BlackFREEDMEN

😂😂😂😂 Rest Easy Aaron
I admire her so much, I want to be like her, and one day I will meet Sheila johnson
This interview was another great opportunity to better learn and glean from Ms. Sheila Johnson. When I first read her testimony especially about the significance of the salamander, I felt the happiness of courage and strength rise up in my spirit not only for Ms. Johnson but for myself as well because I was also able to heal from divorce and regain myself, my strength and my peace. Also, I have been blessed to celebrate a birthday weekend at the Salamander in Washington, DC and the experience was FANTASTIC. I planned to return in the future so I was excited to learn about how the hotel will have a new restaurant coming soon. I will continue to pray for Ms. Johnson’s total and divine healing in Jesus name, Amen ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
As a 40 year prince super fan that I think I am, what if I don’t want to be nostalgic about purple rain? Is that bad? It’s 40 years I keep getting reminded I was in high school. The movie an album made me a fan lifelong super fan. But I don’t like this book. I don’t want to be nostalgic. I don’t wanna go back to high school I’m still I haven’t even gotten around to enjoying the diamonds and pearl super deluxe and it’s already been 40 and I must if I don’t? No, I’m not gonna buy this book i’m not gonna buy that other book either. . Prince even castigated this author apparently for trying to take him backwards back to that time. Even Prince said it was like high school going back to that revolution and time. The lady said a lot of beautiful things but it’s saddens me that well. It’s kind of sad that it’s now. Anyways, my point is that not every fan waxes nostalgic collectively you know there are some that just like me I just don’t I’m not there. It’s nostalgia just arrived to you not forced because it’s a 30th or 40th or 10th or buys into all the opera opportunistic were some fans will buy things because they want it in the collection and they think it should be in it. I mean, people are free to buy none of my business but it’s just something wrong
I don't understand your comment or follow what your complaint is. Of course you don't have to buy the book, or wear purple, or hang posters on the wall. You don't have to be nostalgic or listen to Prince ever again. If you've moved past everything Prince, fine. But if you have moved past it, then why did you click on this interview and write a comment? If you're no longer interested in Prince, why watch a discussion about him? The title of the video clearly says it is about the new book. Why did you open the video if you don't like the book? Just to criticize it and criticize others who might be interested in it? What is the point of watching videos you know in advance you won't like?
I don’t like this book. Am I supposed to as a 40 year prince fan buy it? Do I have to wear purple! Do I have to go back to high school? If you were in college back to college days? Do I have to be nostalgic I need to include this book in my collection? I sold my vast collection several years ago. I think the thing I have left over from it are some magazine and clippings from 1984 through I think the mid 90s but I grew out of it. From purple rain didn’t cast castigate so Hansson we’re going back and trying to pull him backwards And force him to celebrate it the 30th anniversary or something? Why? It says this purple breakaway civilization of fans have broke away! People of course are free to do what they want free to put it up on their wall free to start to consent again and collect records until you have no more room, I’m done. It’s all inside here. It’s all inside the park right? I know all my heart. I think I could in my mind. I could see every photograph I’ve ever seen. Tell you every article I mean I can go on and on you internalize it’s in your heart, the progression is movement from dark and cold, which describe purple rain as the revolution the semi fictional revolution and then he went. It made his own studio and he was in the light so much more.
Stop being ungrateful it is a beautiful book stop it💜💜
@@stephenmanuel5859 prince invited this author to put her in check about dredging up the past 30 years anniversary and focus on who he was then. We go on and on about Prince fighting for artist rights we’re here judging up one point in his life 40 years later. I am at the sending voice. I’m probably the only one it’s not a big deal, but I don’t like to be exploited as a fan. I know when that happens and I certainly do not like to see his work legacy as well. Everyone is free to do and say what they want by what they want put up what they want listen to what they want and whatever order but I’m just not there. I was in high school back then. Prince even said that reuniting with the semi-fictional purple rain Revolution would be like going back to high school, I totally get that now!
Here's why having capital at your fingertips breeds power.
