Wonderful story, when the border finally open we just back from Japan last month visiting our son. He is also a MEXT scholar currently doing integrated doctorate program in Tokodai. The part about become Japanized is actually quite true as we saw him adopt Japanese way of life 😅 but as Indonesian growing up in Malaysia , he doesn’t quite have strong roots from both countries so he adapt to Japanese way quite easily. There are quite a number of Indonesian MEXT students, perhaps someday you can create a content about them 😊

Hello, i really loved the video! It was pretty much informative but I guess mostly concentrated on people who had already finished bachelor degree, which is not bad honestly, but because of that I got some questions. So if you apply for the undergraduate MEXT scholarship program, do you have to explain your study plan or maybe something like that? Maybe you perhaps will have to explain why you are applying to specifically Japan or relative questions? How different are the approaches to undergraduate program and others? And also if you haven’t been to Japan yet but still want to study there, would it be a must to visit it before applying to MEXT? Thank you if you will see this comment 🙏

Is it true that Toudai is strictly for Japanese students only and outsiders who are not Japanese are forbidden from entering Toudai, even if they passed the entrance exams? Something I've heard of from some people including my older cousin's ex-wife and a Malaysian security guard. I'm just curious, because back in the 2000s, I kept hearing really harsh misconceptions about Japan or Japanese people. I've met my Japanese friends in 2010 so things are a lot different now, compare to long ago in the 2000s. But the harsh misconceptions in the past still haunts me. It's about time for me to clear out some harsh misconceptions in my head.
