10:30 You're exactly right! I was born in 97, so when I was growing up, Generation Girl was the current Barbie, Superstar Era was long gone. And now at 26 years old, I exclusively only collect Superstar Era just because it's my favorite and I wasn't even there to experience it! The dolls from that Era are just Chefs kiss ❤

Thank you for sharing. This might be my very first barbie doll that I remember having as a child. I am lucky that as someone born male, my family was very supportive of me playing with dolls. My dear grandfather was actually the first to really support me before the rest of my family. I believe it was some time around my 4th birthday. He took me to Kay-Bee Toys and he let me pick out whichever toy I wanted and I chose this Barbie. I loved her and played with her until I lost the ribbons, her ballet barre and even her crown. My grandfather is passed now, but I am so thankful to him, not only for the countless dolls and toys he gifted me over the years, but also for his generosity, kindness and understanding. Again. thank you for sharing. This was a wonderful trip down memory lane for me.

The Hispanic doll is beautiful even though her outfit is giving "Dolls of the World". She definitely deserves a reproduction. I remember they remade Black Barbie for the 50th anniversary and I regret not getting her.

I totally missed this whole voting situation but I've since heard that they were making Golden Dream. Personally I've been wanting a Pink and Pretty Christie for years, but I won't pay over a certain amount for one, so I'm disappointed they won't remake her, but I would still buy a Golden Dream Christie repro. I agree that they could sell well as playline. Imagine a pink and pretty doll on the shelves next to the Barbie movie dolls and cheap career dolls and fashionistas. She'd look like a glamorous collectible by comparison and would stand out. Modern Barbie lacks the class and glam a lot of us were used to.

the articulation on this barbie doll does not look so bad if you put attention to the barbie from the 80s they have exposed articulation too on the side of the arm the one with L arms and on the waist the twist and turn waist is creepy no human being has a cut on the waist and don't have belly button like the new barbies this new barbie they have natural waist with a belly button like human and they don't have the articulation on the side of their arm either, so the old and new barbies have almost the same Amont of articulation but in different parts of their bodies. and besides all that the new barbie have many more different faces molds and they have hands with separated fingers. I love Barbie from the 80s but I think the new ones offer a new vision of Barbie.

Now this "Commercial" for the doll was the perfect way to open the movie because by the name alone we need to know how the doll is being sold, what it looks like, and what it sounded like. If they were to open the movie starting with a background for how Kayce lost her mother then that would have taken away from why its title is called "Life- Size". From the standpoint of how to get the audience to understand why the film is called that and help setup the core focus of a doll coming to life and being human. You must first establish the background of the doll as a product that is being sold but is on the verge of being cancelled, then by accident it came to life and is experiencing the flaws of human nature. By showing that being "perfect" is not all that its cracked up to be and that when you go through life you make mistakes and have room for growth and improvement makes more sense that we as human beings are not perfect and that a doll is a doll is a doll they can't experience a rough life because they are toys but a real person can mess up and grow from their mistakes. By the end of the movie the lesson to be learned is that we all are flawed and mistakes and if a doll were to come to life they would be just as flawed as we are. The line "It's not about being the best it's about trying your best" is a really good message to follow because if you can get everything you want on a silver platter then you don't know if you truly deserve it.

This barbie is adorable, her skin, face, feet thin like the Barbies of the eighties. It is of excellent quality and one of the favorites I have in my collection. 

Classic I use to pretend I wanted to hang out with my God sister but as soon as I would sit down I would say let's play your Barbie and the Rockers tape, then I would leave return the next day and repeat the same behavior!

Gorgeous doll! One of my all time favorites of the Barbie world! Her look was, in my opinion, very representative of popular culture of course, but specifically the TV variety music show "solid gold" (1980-1988). Black Barbies whole over all look is very similar to the popular dancers on that show, especially the body suit when the over skirt is removed. Great review!
