It is impossible to objectively evaluate lighting modifiers in a studio space like that which has a high level of ambient lightings and reflections of spill fill off the ceiling and opposite wall. In that space the more spill the modifier creates the more different directions the spill fill will come from. Take that same modifier into a larger studio painted black to eliminate spill fill or outdoors at night and the results will be much different. What most starting in lighting do not understand is that distance to subject controls the contrast of highlight to shadow gradients per the inverse square law. As distance from source changes from 1, 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22, 32 feet or meters the intensity falls off one f/stop. So if you want buttery soft highlight / shadow transitions you will want to the light as far away as your studio space allows and if you are shooting in your living room you can get the lights far enough away to match that same look. What modifiers to in a large studio space without spill fill contributing is change the character of the reflections from the source making them larger and less specular as a function or their apparent size - how large they look from the POV of the subject. For example a large SB moved further back until to the subject it appears the same size as a small one at 2 meters will have the same apparent size but a much larger footprint creating spill fill which needs to be taken into account. The reason Softboxes were invented was because umbrellas which where originally used created so much spill fill the lighting pattern became an uncontrollable flat looking muddle.

I definitely wanna get that V860ii. That battery feelsike a no brainer with the faster recycle times but for budget purposes, thet TT685 looks extra delicious.

hello I have a question about this trigger. Adorama store sells these products with different name, it calls Flashpoint and BHphotvideo sells with this name Godox X3. my question is , i have two flashpoint lights from Adorama one of them is godox AD200 PRO which in my case calls Flashpoint eVOLV 200 PRO AND Godox AD400 again in my case Flashpoint XPLOR 400 PRO. i bought from BH godox x3 trigger so i am curious will it work without any problem with Flashpoint lights which are basically the same product but branding standpoint different name

The Godox SL60IID has been upgraded to 70W while the SL60IIBi is now 75W. These are fairly significant changes that you don't seem to think worth the mention. Easy to find data available in the Technical Data section of the respective manuals. Selling points for me in any case so I'm looking elsewhere for my info and, once I find reliable and accurate information about a product I'm interested in, perhaps an indication that it might be a more trustworthy place to spend my money. And why not spend more time on demonstrating the more advanced (and more popular?) version that can then easily be cross-referenced with the less complex one??

According to the Godox website, the TT600 is only compatible with a few dedicated Godox flash transmitters. I don't suppose it's possible to trigger it with flash triggers from other brands? If so, could those flash triggers work with any brand of camera?

Hey Rob. Thanks for your review! Just a few questions. I think this will be an excellent trigger for macro photography out in the field. I think throughout your video (at one point) the X3 can be controlled solely with buttons? I envision the touch screen getting a little annoying with wet weather conditions. AND did you every try this in your studio and see how long the battery lasts? Thanks in advance.

You failed to demo a ring-flash's OTHER use: and it's not as Key! FILL baby, fill! ON-axis fill, reducing shadows....and the Scene Brightness Range.
